After Breaking Off the Engagement, I Was Pampered By My Younger Uncle Chapter 61

Chapter 61: The Young Master of the Fu Family

When Ruan Li got into the car heading back to Yuyuan, the man standing outside hadn’t left yet. Shi Xun also hadn’t realized that he had been using his main account while surfing the web.

“I wasn’t wrong, was I? Third Brother must have bought it for you. What’s he going to do, wear it himself?” Shi Xun tried to cover up his mistake.

“That’s no excuse for using your main account,” Ruan Li could already imagine the chaos on the trending topics soon.

“Tell me what you want, and I’ll compensate you,” Shi Xun leaned against the car window, having deleted the comment as soon as he realized what he had done.

Ruan Li felt her temples pulsing. Ever since that variety show, there had been fans shipping her with Fu Huaizhou, but that was just internet talk.

Shi Xun’s situation was different. Not only were there rumors about him being a rich heir from Jing City, but his massive popularity as a top star also meant this news would stay on the trending lists for quite a while.

“I hate you,” Ruan Li glared at Shi Xun like an angry kitten. She didn’t care what he was saying as she instructed the driver to start the car.

Shi Xun, watching the car disappear into the distance, didn’t even have time to go back inside before he got a call from Ye Mian. The moment he answered, she immediately started scolding him.

“Shi Xun, are you out of your mind? What kind of celebrity uses their main account to surf the web? Thanks to you, Ruan Li’s now right in the middle of a scandal!”

Shi Xun hesitated for a moment. “I always use my main account.”

“…”

Ye Mian opened her phone and saw the trending news skyrocketing at an alarming rate. “Just wait for your Third Brother to come for you. Maybe he’ll send you to Big Brother Mu to learn business management.”

Shi Xun smiled indifferently. “Third Brother? He’ll thank me for this. Just watch.”

He had noticed it during the drinking party when he’d driven Ruan Li home.

“What do you mean?” Ye Mian asked.

“Have you ever seen a rich heir from Jing City who eagerly follows his little ‘canary’ into a cramped crew hotel just so they can stay together?”

Ye Mian finally sensed something was off. “Is Third Brother really that serious? Does Ruan Li know?”

Shi Xun wasn’t so sure. “Maybe she’s pretending not to know.”

After all, anyone could see that Fu Huaizhou and Ruan Li weren’t in the kind of relationship that could easily evolve into something more, let alone marriage.

“By the way, Ye Mian, why don’t you call me ‘Brother Xun’ too? Let me experience that affection.”

There was a brief silence on the other end of the line. Just when Shi Xun thought he had successfully swayed her

“Get lost.” And the call ended with a beeping sound.

By the time Ruan Li arrived at Yuyuan, she had nearly forgotten about the earlier incident. But when she stepped out of the car, the sight in front of her startled her.

All the servants of Yuyuan were lined up at the door, waiting for her. As she walked into the main hall, she saw several black velvet boxes on the coffee table, with Fu Huaizhou sitting on the couch nearby, waiting for her.

Seeing her somewhat stunned expression, he chuckled softly.

“Open them,” he said.

Ruan Li recalled the news from earlier about the items Fu Huaizhou had purchased at the auction for over a billion yuan, though the report hadn’t specified what they were.

She opened the boxes one by one, and her eyes lit up. Inside were exquisite items diamond tiaras, jade jewelry, all finely cut and set in matching collections.

Each piece glittered under the lights of the living room, leaving even someone like Ruan Li, who was used to such luxury, a bit dazzled.

“Do you like them?” Fu Huaizhou asked, watching the sparkle in her eyes. Although he didn’t fully understand her love for such things, he was pleased that they made her happy.

Ruan Li touched one piece and admired another, her delight almost written on her face. She picked up the most beautiful necklace and held it close to her, admiring it.

Fu Huaizhou stood up and pulled both her and the box into his arms. “So, can I come into the master bedroom tonight?”

Ruan Li wrinkled her nose slightly. Even though her joy was nearly overflowing, she still let out a light huff.

“Maybe, just barely,” she said with a teasing air before directing the servants to place the items in her dressing room where she could display and admire them properly.

Fu Yu, having heard the commotion, came downstairs just in time to see the servants carrying the boxes. He stood on tiptoe to get a better look, then threw himself at Ruan Li.

“Sis, are you a little bird?”

Ruan Li, puzzled, looked down at him. “Why do you say that?”

As a child, people used to say that her name suited her because she was as soft and white as a little ball of cream, and she often wore red clothes, looking like a peeled lychee.

“Mom says that only birds collect shiny things and take them back to their nests,” Fu Yu said earnestly, staring at her with innocent eyes.

Ruan Li was speechless for a moment because his description matched her earlier actions perfectly.

The man standing nearby let out a few low chuckles.

Fu Yu continued, “Uncle said you’d definitely like them, and he was right. He knows you so well.”

Ruan Li glared at the man who was still chuckling, feeling a bit indignant. “That’s because he’s a voyeur.”

Fu Yu didn’t understand what she meant and climbed onto the sofa to play with Fu Huaizhou’s tablet.

Fu Huaizhou, still holding her, was about to whisper something to soothe her when Fu Yu suddenly spoke up.

“Sis, you and Brother Shi are on the news together!”

“Do you even know how to read those words?” Ruan Li asked, suspicious. But then she remembered the earlier situation. She had almost forgotten about it, having been so distracted by the jewelry. Quickly, she pulled out her phone.

Fu Yu, feeling slighted by her doubt, puffed out his chest. “I know lots of words!”

Sure enough, Shi Xun’s comment had taken what had originally been a business news story and propelled it to the top of the trending topics.

“Shi Xun is actually a shipper of our ‘Mary Sue’ CP. Please keep shipping them in the future.”

“You guys actually believe this Mary Sue stuff? How could a billionaire CEO ever fall for a little celebrity?”

“Isn’t Shi Xun supposed to come from a rich family too? That makes his information more believable, right?”

At that moment, Ruan Li wanted to strangle Shi Xun. Before she could finish reading the comments, another news article popped up:

“Ruan Li was rumored to be secretly married with a child a few days ago. Is the Fu family’s young master involved?”
