After Breaking off the Engagement, The Village Girl Picked up the Amnesiac Boss and was Spoiled Chapter 12

Chapter 12: I Won’t Feel Dizzy With You by My Side

When counting the days, it’s only been five days since I came here.

Although He Miao has been taking good care of me, that’s just who she is. She is warm and kind to everyone in the village, except for that widow Wu.

A Xun knew that, as an outsider with no memory, He Miao probably doesn’t see anything special about him. If she had picked up someone else that day, she would have treated them with the same care.

But after spending these few days together, what initially seemed like a kind and lovable girl, someone who was easy to enjoy looking at, talking to, and being around, had changed. After the dream from yesterday, A Xun realized that he had certain inappropriate feelings for He Miao. With the competition for her affection from others, his admiration for her had grown rapidly.

He didn’t want to give He Miao to another man. He couldn’t just wait quietly without doing anything.

So, when He Miao told him the next morning that she was going to visit Ju Fang again, A Xun almost fainted from dizziness.

He Miao rushed over to support him, asking, “A Xun, what’s wrong? Are you still not feeling well? What should we do? My uncle Xiang Xiang went up the mountain to pick herbs… You’ll have to wait for him to come back in the evening, and I’ll have him take a look at you.”

Her concern was so touching that anyone would be moved.

“I’m fine, Miao’er. Don’t trouble Uncle Shun. I just feel a little dizzy. A bit of rest will make me feel better. Please don’t go today. Stay with me at home, okay?” A Xun said weakly, with a tone of request.

Without hesitation, He Miao agreed, “Alright, I won’t go anywhere today. I’ll stay with you at home. But let me go tell Ju Fang that I can’t come today.”

He Miao went to Ju Fang’s house to tell her that she wouldn’t be coming to make shoes today. Since she had already learned to make one shoe yesterday, she could make the other one at home today. If there were any mistakes, she could come back and ask for advice.

When she returned from Ju Fang’s house, she went to the storage room, took a small cloth, and gently wiped A Xun’s forehead, asking softly, “How do you feel now? Is the dizziness worse?”

Looking at her caring expression, A Xun’s heart melted. He smiled softly, “I’m better now. With you by my side, I don’t feel dizzy anymore.”

“It’s all my fault. I haven’t been home these past few days and I neglected you. Your injury hasn’t healed yet. I shouldn’t have been out…” He Miao said, her long lashes trembling with guilt.

“No, Miao’er. You’ve taken such good care of me. My external injuries have healed. It’s just that I felt a little dizzy today. After resting, I’ll be fine. Tomorrow, I’ll help you fetch water, chop wood, farm, cook, and work.”

“That’s not acceptable. My uncle said your injury needs to heal for at least ten to fifteen days. If you’re bored and tomorrow you feel better, I can accompany you around the village or nearby woods to get some fresh air.”

“Alright, I’ll listen to you.” A Xun agreed.

He Miao always wondered why A Xun suddenly felt dizzy when he had been recovering so well. After thinking for a while, she began to suspect it might be because of the scar-removal ointment. She recalled that after using it a few times, A Xun felt dizzy. “Oh no, it must be because of this medicine! I have to go return it tomorrow!”

“A Xun quickly stopped her, “Miao’er, you can’t go to return it. What if that shopkeeper makes things difficult for you? Besides, my dizziness isn’t caused by the medicine. After using it, my wound doesn’t itch or hurt anymore. The dizziness is due to my own reasons, but I’m already feeling much better now.”

Miao’er, don’t worry about it,” he urged her not to take any action.

“Well, I just can’t bear to see the scar on your forehead, so I wanted to buy the medicine for you…” Miao’er thought it probably wasn’t the medicine after all.

The medicine store in Xie Shui Town had been open for years, and it always sold genuine products. It wouldn’t be selling fake medicine to make a few coins.

A Xun, seeing how kind and gentle Miao’er was, felt even more affection for her. He couldn’t help but gaze at her beautiful face, unwilling to look away.

“Alright, then. I won’t say anything more. You should rest more if you’re still dizzy. I have some things to do, so I’ll go back to my room now.” Before A Xun could say anything else, Miao’er quickly left.

She was thinking about the unfinished shoes and wanted to finish them today so she could give them to A Xun tomorrow.

“A Xun…” Seeing Miao’er leave, her delicate figure vanishing into her room, A Xun sighed and muttered, “You promised to stay with me…”

However, A Xun was still content. As long as she didn’t go to Ju Fang’s house, that was enough. After all, she was a pure and innocent girl from this village. He couldn’t expect her to stay by his side all day.

A Xun reluctantly lay down, but his thoughts kept going back to whether Miao’er truly had feelings for Zhou Dawu from Xiaozhaoshu Village.

After a while, the courtyard was quiet. There was no sound from Miao’er’s room. A Xun, feeling anxious, finally decided to go and find out. He wanted to ask and figure out the situation. If Miao’er was truly interested in Zhou Dawu, he needed to know and plan his next move accordingly.

He got up and stood at Miao’er’s door. His hand hovered in the air for a moment before he lightly knocked. “Miao’er, I need to ask you something.”

Miao’er, who was sewing the shoe, heard him coming and quickly put down the shoe to open the door. “A Xun, what’s up?”

“Miao’er,” A Xun said seriously, “Yesterday, I…”

Before he could finish, his eyes inadvertently glanced at the unfinished shoes on the table. Only one shoe was missing the top part.

A Xun’s heart sank, and his voice tightened as he cautiously asked, “Those shoes, are they for him?”

“?” Miao’er didn’t understand, and looked at the shoes on the table. She blinked her bright eyes and asked, “Who is ‘he’?”

Seeing A Xun pursing his lips and looking down, Miao’er became even more puzzled.

She hadn’t told him about making the shoes because she was worried that they wouldn’t turn out well and she didn’t want to give them to him. But now that they were almost done, there was no need to hide it.

“These are for you,” Miao’er said with a smile.

“For me?” A Xun’s frown relaxed, and his eyes brightened as if a spark of life had been ignited again. “You made these shoes for me?”

“Yes, of course. Who did you think they were for? My uncle? Or Brother Da Hu?”
