Chapter 53: She Was Also Worried About Him
Mu Bo put away his umbrella and shook it off. As he raised his eyes, he met the girl’s gaze. “Miss Lin.” He greeted her softly.
Banxia came back to her senses and raised her eyes, taking a step towards the building. The children also saw her. “Mommy!” They all rushed towards her.
After going downstairs, she bent down and hugged the children. Then she walked towards Mu Bo. “Mr. Mu, thank you for personally sending the children back. You must have been very busy.”
“It’s my duty.” Mu Bo’s gaze was gentle. He suddenly understood why Zhan Shao had fallen for her. She was a breath of fresh air among the many beautiful women.
This woman gave off a different feeling every time he saw her. She was beautiful even without makeup.
Banxia remained silent for a moment, then spoke abruptly. “Why is he in such a hurry to go abroad?” She hadn’t heard him mention it when she came back.
Had something happened? She couldn’t help but feel a little worried.
Mu Bo also saw a hint of worry in her eyes. He smiled. “Zhan Shao is going to find a doctor named Avery to treat the eldest master.”
“The eldest master?” Banxia couldn’t help but feel confused. “…Who is that?”
The two little ones also raised their heads, looking at their mother and then at Uncle Mu. They politely didn’t interrupt the conversation between the adults.
Zhan Shao hadn’t told her?
Mu Bo was slightly startled. He subconsciously felt a pang in his chest. He couldn’t slip up. After all, the matter of the eldest master…
Seeing the hesitation on his face, Banxia didn’t ask further.
She lowered her head and stroked the children’s heads, smiling as she changed the topic. “Mrs. Zhou,is there any ginger soup left? Please serve a bowl for Mr. Mu. It’s easy to catch a cold on a rainy day.”
“Yes, yes, right away!”
Before Mu Bo could refuse, Mrs. Zhou had already brought out a bowl of ginger soup. “Mr. Mu, please have some ginger soup.”
Mu Bo reached out to take it. “Thank you, Mrs. Zhou.”
After drinking the ginger soup, Mu Bo bid farewell to everyone and then turned to leave.
Soon, someone drove her Maybach back into the courtyard.
Banxia spent some time with the children and then began to wash the medicinal herbs she had picked today. Among them, the 江南卷柏 was an unexpected find, which made her very happy. She carefully admired it.
“Mommy, isn’t this Selaginella chinensis?” An An, who was well-versed in medicine, watched from the side.
Banxia looked at her son’s eyes with a sense of relief. Her lips curled up. “Yes, An An recognized it after seeing it only once. You’re amazing!”
“It has another name, Selaginella chinensis!” An An’s voice was soft and sweet. “It has the effect of clearing heat and diuresis, promoting blood circulation and reducing swelling. It can also have a good therapeutic effect on thrombocytopenia.”
“Yes, An An is becoming more and more dedicated.” Banxia praised her child. In fact, she knew that the child was talented.
Mrs. Zhou, not far away, listened to the conversation between the mother and son, and her heart couldn’t help but be shocked. The little master was only six years old, and he actually understood medicine?
After helping her mother wash the Chinese medicine, An An recognized every single herb and could accurately state its effects.
After the rain stopped, Banxia personally planted the precious medicinal herb she had dug up in the yard.
Seeing this, Butler Shen picked up a hoe and quickly helped her.
“Butler Shen, there’s something… I don’t know if I should ask.” Banxia hesitated for a long time, but she couldn’t shake the doubt in her heart.
The steward’s face was kind, and he helped her fill in the soil, “What is it? Please speak, Madam.”
“Does Mr. Zhan have a brother?”
The steward raised his eyes and looked at her, stunned.
“Or… does Mr. Zhan have other children?” Banxia asked directly, “Who is the eldest master that Assistant Mu mentioned?”
“There are definitely no other children!” Butler Shen quickly replied, don’t let the misunderstanding get bigger! Especially between this couple!
Banxia observed his expression, and she already had an answer in her heart. Butler Shen looked at her, wanting to say something but stopping himself.
Mu Bo didn’t say it, and Butler Shen didn’t say it directly. Lin Banxia knew that she couldn’t ask anymore, she couldn’t make people feel embarrassed.
“It’s planted now, thank you for your help.” She smiled, easily changing the subject.
“You’re welcome, it’s just a small matter. It’s windy outside, let’s go inside, Madam.”
Then, she walked towards the living room with Butler Shen.
Banxia also went to visit Uncle Ming, brewed medicine, and personally went to his room to feed him.
She was a little distracted, because the rain outside hadn’t stopped, and her thoughts seemed to be taken away by Zhan Jingting.
Was the person he was looking for Dr. Avery? Was it the Dr. Avery she knew?
After feeding Uncle Ming the medicine and taking his pulse, she gave the caregiver a few instructions before turning to leave.
Back in the bedroom, Banxia hugged her tablet and sat down on the sofa by the window. Outside, the rain was pouring down, the wind was helping the rain, and the raindrops hit the yard, splashing up layers of water.
She loved listening to the sound of rain, but today she felt inexplicably sad.
After a while, she used her tablet to search for information about Zhan Jingting.
His parents, siblings… love life… but she found that anything related to his family, his private life, was clean on the internet, as if it had been specially processed.
So, who was the eldest master? Banxia couldn’t figure it out. His brother? Treating an illness? What was wrong? What kind of illness did he have?
The spacious children’s room next door was filled with everything imaginable.
The day he brought the children back, Zhan Jingting had transformed it into a small amusement park. There was a swing set, a slide, a bouncy castle, a display area for figurines, and an easel for freehand drawing.
But these two mischievous kids were different from other children their age. They weren’t very interested in playing with these things. They would spend their time glued to their tablets, researching something or other.
“Have you found the IP address of the Jiang Group, brother?” An An sat cross-legged on the rug, munching on jelly.
“I have.” Lin Yimo leaned back on the sofa, his legs crossed at ease, holding a tablet in his hand, operating it intently. “Let’s give him a little lesson today.”
“Hack his financial system, right? It’s payday soon. If he can’t pay his employees, they’ll complain. The whole company will be in chaos, and everyone will be after him.” An An thought it was all very exciting.
But Lin Yimo shook his head. “No, that won’t do. Jiang Tianxiang, that old man, made the mistake, but we can’t make the innocent company employees pay for it. Adults nowadays have a lot of pressure. They have mortgages and car loans to pay. If they don’t get their money on time, they’ll panic.”
He exuded a calmness that belied his age, a true heir’s demeanor.
After his brother’s analysis, An An nodded in agreement. “Then… let’s sabotage a few of his projects?”
“That’s an option.” Mo Mo was operating the tablet, a sly smile playing on his lips. “I’m going to plant his project plans in his competitor’s computer for free.”
“You’re amazing, brother!!” An An squealed excitedly. “Let’s see if that father and daughter dare bully Mommy again! They have to pay!”
Well, they were definitely two affectionate little rascals.
In the blink of an eye, the rain grew heavier, and the sky darkened further, even though it was broad daylight.
Lin Banxia sat by the window, listening to the thunder booming like the roar of the heavens, both awe-inspiring and unsettling.
Suddenly, a news alert popped up on her tablet:
Ten minutes ago, a plane bound for Canada was forced to make an emergency landing at a nearby airport after its windshield shattered while flying through a storm. There were casualties, with several people injured, and rescue efforts were underway.
Lin Banxia’s heart skipped a beat, and her fan-like eyelashes trembled violently!
Because Dr. Avery was in Canada!
