Chapter 18: If You Have Manners, You’ll Stay Hungry
After more than ten hours of flight, the group finally landed in Venice.
Dragging several pieces of luggage, they wandered aimlessly inside Marco Polo Airport.
Due to a miscommunication between the show and the guests, the evening schedule was arranged by the production team.
The director led the guests out of the airport and found the dock.
At this time, it was already past midnight back in their home country, so the production team decided to open a live stream.
Within just a few minutes, the number of viewers soared to over a hundred thousand.
【Late-night kids get the candy, hehehe! It’s live!】
【The “Jin Ye Bu Mian” videos are so addictive, I’m here for a midnight snack.】
【So this is Venice? Truly a city without cars.】
By now, Venice was approaching evening, with a cool breeze brushing against their faces.
The sun was setting, its last rays sinking below the horizon.
The dazzling afterglow spread in layers, painting the sky with hues of rose.
The river reflected the vibrant colors, and the small boats rocking on the water lit up with warm lights.
The dock was bustling with people, and the group standing together drew quite a bit of attention.
Among them, the most striking was the tall, bespectacled Eastern man.
His features were calm and composed, his head bowed as he focused on his phone.
The evening breeze ruffled his black hair, faintly revealing his fair and full forehead.
His loose white shirt billowed in the wind, subtly outlining his slender waist.
His indescribably cool and aloof demeanor left a strong impression on the foreigners.
A few bold young foreigners were eager to approach and strike up a conversation.
However, before they could take a step, they saw another tall, mixed-race man standing beside him, naturally taking his hand and deliberately raising it in the air.
The 9.9-carat pure ruby on his finger nearly blinded the brave young men.
“What are you doing?” Lin Xingmian looked up.
“Taking you for a little exercise. Aren’t you tired after sitting for so long?” Jiang Zijin replied without changing his expression, quietly letting go of his hand.
“You seem to be resting just fine. You’ll be carrying everyone’s luggage later,” Lin Xingmian raised an eyebrow, unceremoniously assigning him the task.
“No problem, my tour guide,” Jiang Zijin smiled, showing no sign of feeling exploited.
【Hahaha, Mianmian is so domineering.】
【So Mianmian is the tour guide this time? This Venice trip is going to be interesting.】
【LOL, Jiang Zijin is finding every way to show off their love.】
【Don’t even mention it, Mianmian is super popular overseas! He’s endorsed several high-end international brands!】
The assistant director bought the tickets and handed out the addresses of the homestays and the receipts to the couples.
Shen Yan looked at the two tickets in his hand, then glanced at Lin Xingmian, who was empty-handed, and asked in confusion, “Director, why don’t they have tickets?”
“Don’t worry about them. Based on the last segment, the more questions they answered correctly, the better their travel arrangements,” Director Wu said with a smile.
“Lin Xingmian and Jiang Zijin are taking the homestay owner’s yacht, Shen Yan and Lu Yuan’s group are taking a water taxi, and Qin Mu and He Yuean are taking the water bus.”
Director Wu took a step back to show the camera the transportation for the night.
On the right side of the dock, there was a luxurious yacht, a sleek and simple water taxi, and a crowded water bus.
The guests: ……
【What a stark contrast! Director He, you really know how to create a show!】
【Hahaha, director, you’re so ruthless!】
【Director He’s face has turned so dark, it’s almost blending into the night!】
【Director Wu, be careful when you walk tonight.】
“As for our tour assistant, just pick any couple and follow them,” Director Wu added.
Ji Ansheng didn’t hesitate and stood behind Lin Xingmian, firmly choosing the yacht.
“Alright then, let’s get the guests on board,” Director Wu waved his hand, urging the guests to board.
Shen Yan and Lu Yuan were quite satisfied, quickly approaching the speedboat and handing their tickets to the two people on board.
The two sat in the speedboat, the engine roared, and the speedboat soon left the dock.
The water bus honked, ready to depart.
He Yuean didn’t have time to complain, took the map from the director, and hurriedly pulled Qin Mu onto the boat.
As the bus left the harbor, only the yacht remained at the dock.
The yacht lowered its stairs, and Ji Ansheng eagerly stepped onto it.
Jiang Zijin followed Lin Xingmian, slowly walking up the steps onto the yacht.
The yacht didn’t look big from the outside, but inside it was a different world.
The main living room was stylishly modern, equipped with a TV, leather sofa, bar stools, and more.
The long table was filled with various snacks and fruits, and the glass fridge even had champagne.
Lin Xingmian sat on the sofa and opened the envelope containing the next day’s travel funds provided by the show.
He carefully tore open the envelope and pulled out the bills.
A 100 Euro note.
He couldn’t believe it and looked inside the envelope again, but there was nothing else.
Lin Xingmian stood there in shock, the notebook pressing down on the 100 Euro note, flapping against the table in the wind, as if protesting the show’s cruelty.
100 Euros was quite sufficient for one person, and two could manage well, but there were seven of them!
The total travel budget for everyone was only 100 Euros, and with the high prices on the main island, even a decent dinner would be a challenge.
Lin Xingmian, who had been in the industry for years and never lacked money, now found himself in a predicament he had never experienced before, with his wallet and phone taken away and having to take care of seven people.
Lin Xingmian took a deep breath, tiredly rubbed his temples, and started cutting down some attractions, recalculating.
Ten minutes later, Lin Xingmian gave up.
100 Euros was definitely not enough, even if they had to swallow their pride and do it.
Lin Xingmian nudged Jiang Zijin with his elbow and whispered something in his ear.
Jiang Zijin smirked and strolled to the cockpit.
After a moment, he strolled back and nodded at him.
Lin Xingmian opened his backpack and quickly stuffed the snacks and fruits from the table into the black backpack.
Jiang Zijin even casually took a bottle of champagne from the fridge.
【I’m dying of laughter, a top-tier actor reduced to this.】
【For a moment, it felt like I was traveling with my mom.】
【You two are here to rob, aren’t you?】
Ji Ansheng, who had been enjoying the scenery, walked back inside the yacht and looked at Lin Xingmian’s vulgar and unsophisticated demeanor, a hint of disdain and contempt in his eyes.
“Isn’t this inappropriate? Taking things from the yacht so casually makes you seem quite uncultured,” Ji Ansheng said softly, pretending to be concerned.
Lin Xingmian paused and was about to explain when a lazy male voice chimed in.
“If you’re so cultured, then go hungry. No one’s stopping you.”
