Chapter 20: Mixed-blood kids are so straightforward! They don’t stand on ceremony at all!
After the landlord finished the introduction, he went downstairs, leaving the group of guests on the fourth floor.
“So, how about it? Everyone, pick your rooms,” Lin Xingmian spoke up.
The rooms this time were quite good, and everyone seemed quite satisfied.
“If no one has any objections, shall we take the left side of the third floor?” He Yuean pointed to the rooms on the left.
“Then we’ll take the right side of the third floor?” Shen Yan glanced around at the others, observing their reactions.
Lin Xingmian and Jiang Zijin had no objections, while Ji Ansheng looked around at the peeling wooden hallway, unable to hide the disdain on his face.
He tugged at his long coat, afraid that his clothes might touch the handrail.
“What about you? Where do you want to stay?” Lin Xingmian turned his head to ask Ji Ansheng.
“I… can I take the room on the left? The bathroom there is cleaner. I’m a bit of a neat freak,” Ji Ansheng timidly replied.
Lin Xingmian paused for a moment. “Sure, that’s settled then.”
“I’ll be the tour guide tomorrow. Is everyone okay with getting up at 8:30?”
Since everyone had rested on the plane, getting up at 8:30 wasn’t a problem at all.
They all nodded in agreement.
“Then I’ll arrange the schedule for tomorrow and go over it with you again in the morning.”
“The production team won’t be providing dinner tonight, but here are some snacks and fruits. Take them to your rooms,” Lin Xingmian said, dividing the snacks and fruits into bags and handing them out to the two couples.
“As expected of Lin Xingmian, always so thorough!” Shen Yan gave him a thumbs-up.
“Thanks, tour guide,” Lu Yuan said as he took the snack bag.
Qin Mu and Lu Yuan, who were on the periphery, also nodded in gratitude.
“No problem. I’ll arrange tomorrow’s schedule and go over it with you again in the morning,” Lin Xingmian said, handing a snack bag to Ji Ansheng.
Ji Ansheng hadn’t eaten the plane meal and was already starving.
But he couldn’t bring himself to admit it, so he declined on the surface, “No, I’m not hungry.”
Lin Xingmian glanced at him but didn’t insist, putting the remaining snacks back into his own backpack.
Ji Ansheng watched as he put the snacks away, his eyes widening in disbelief.
Ji Ansheng: Damn it, couldn’t he have asked one more time?
Lin Xingmian carried his backpack downstairs, ready to bring the luggage up.
As he reached the stairwell, he noticed that everyone’s suitcases were already lined up in the hallway on the third floor.
Jiang Zijin stood on the third-floor steps, shaking his head slightly.
His dark brown hair was disheveled, revealing only a pair of bright lake-blue eyes. His tone was relaxed and lazy.
“Tour guide, the luggage is already up here.”
Lin Xingmian’s eyes showed a hint of surprise, and he nodded, inadvertently catching a glimpse of the man’s arm.
The black sleeve was rolled up halfway, revealing a honey-toned arm with smooth lines and slightly protruding veins that exuded an indescribable sensuality.
Lin Xingmian’s gaze wavered slightly as he casually complimented, “Not bad stamina.”
Jiang Zijin raised an eyebrow. “Naturally.”
[Hahaha, the eye contact between these two is enough for me to imagine a whole passionate scene.]
[Jiang Ge never misses a chance to show off.]
[See that, folks? This is the kind of boyfriend you should look for—someone who’s always ready to help!]
[As expected of an Enigma, he managed to carry all the luggage up while just chatting.]
The guests all went downstairs, pushing their suitcases into their rooms.
Lin Xingmian picked up two pieces of luggage and headed up to the fourth floor.
Jiang Zijin also carried his luggage, following closely behind.
On the third-floor corridor, two pieces of luggage remained, while Ji Ansheng stood with his arms crossed, sulking by the doorway, watching them go up and down.
Jiang Zijin happened to be at the stairwell and decided to make another trip down, placing Ji Ansheng’s suitcase by his room door before turning and leaving.
Ji Ansheng watched his retreating figure, puzzled.
What did that mean? Why did he bring my luggage up? Was he trying to be friendly, or was it an apology?
Before he could figure it out, Jiang Zijin had already closed his door.
Ji Ansheng could only silently push the luggage back into his room, his thoughts in disarray.
No, he needed to ask someone! Were the two of them really…?
——
As the door closed, the room was left with only Jiang Zijin, Lin Xingmian, and the director who was trying to minimize his presence.
The room wasn’t particularly large—a soft double bed, a desk with a wardrobe, and a modest lounge chair by the small balcony.
Lin Xingmian tried to avert his gaze from the bed, pulling his suitcase to the side of the desk and sitting down on the chair.
Jiang Zijin, on the other hand, was more casual, tossing his suitcase aside, letting it roll into the corner of the room.
He sat on the bed, the soft mattress bouncing slightly, feeling quite comfortable.
Lin Xingmian pulled out the chair and sat at the desk.
Being in the same space inevitably brought back memories of the previous incident.
For a moment, the atmosphere between them was awkward.
Lin Xingmian’s scrolling on his phone felt stiff, the text on the screen suddenly blurring.
“What are you doing?” Jiang Zijin leaned in, glancing down at what he was up to.
Lin Xingmian stiffened slightly, trying to remain calm. “Travel itinerary. I’m the guide, after all. I can’t just let everyone wander around aimlessly.”
Jiang Zijin propped one hand on the desk, nonchalant. “You don’t have to. I’m here, aren’t I?”
His warm breath brushed against Lin Xingmian’s ear, causing his eyelashes to flutter slightly. Lin Xingmian pushed him away.
“You’re you, and I’m me. Go take a shower. Don’t just stand here. I’ll finish the itinerary and then rest.”
“…Fine.” Jiang Zijin raised an eyebrow, stepping back to grab his clothes.
Only when the bathroom door closed did Lin Xingmian let out a slight sigh of relief, focusing his attention back on his phone.
【Why does it feel like the atmosphere between them is a bit off?】
【We’re in the main battlefield now, and we’re still here. Awkward, huh?】
【Hahaha, that’s bold of you! Jiang Zijin immediately sat on the bed—testing the quality, huh?】
【What’s there to be awkward about? We’re all family (smirk).】
【You guys are really brave, staying up late to watch this.】
In just about ten minutes, Jiang Zijin emerged from the bathroom wearing only a bathrobe and slippers.
The belt around his waist was loosely tied, the collar open down to his abdomen.
His honey-toned skin glistened with moisture, his chest full and his well-defined abs clearly visible.
Jiang Zijin toweled his slightly damp hair, the white towel casually draped over one shoulder.
The lines of his exposed calves were firm, and as he moved, hints of thigh muscles could be seen.
【Ahhh, what kind of male deity is this?! I’m going to get a nosebleed!】
【Mixed kids are so real! No reservations at all!】
【Can’t help but say, you guys are eating well!】
Jiang Zijin paced back and forth in the room, but Lin Xingmian remained oblivious, completely absorbed in his phone, scribbling and erasing on his notebook.
The gauzy curtains on the balcony fluttered incessantly, and Lin Xingmian shivered slightly, zipping up his jacket.
It was only then that the viewers noticed how cold the room must be, and they began teasing someone in the comments.
Finally, Jiang Zijin stopped pretending and plopped down on the bed, his voice tinged with a hint of grievance, “How much longer are you going to take?”
“…Soon, you can go to sleep first,” Lin Xingmian replied dismissively, using his phone to calculate the total cost.
Jiang Zijin didn’t sleep. Instead, he picked up his phone and leaned against the headboard, waiting for him.
Time ticked by, and fifteen minutes passed without any movement from either of them.
It was already 11 PM local time, and Lin Xingmian hadn’t relaxed the entire journey, preoccupied with planning their strategy.
Jiang Zijin couldn’t sit still any longer and abruptly stood up.
“Alright, it’s dark, time to sleep. We’ll deal with tomorrow’s matters tomorrow!” Jiang Zijin reached out and snatched the pen from Lin Xingmian’s hand.
Lin Xingmian looked at him helplessly, turning around, “Give me back the pen.”
Jiang Zijin threw open the blanket, his clothes slightly open, legs crossed, a hint of his figure subtly revealed.
With a smug expression, he patted the soft bed with a light, quick motion.
“Come up here, sleep with me, and I’ll give it back.”
