Chapter 21: The Opponent Sends You a Battle Invitation!
[Ahhh! The opponent sends you a Battle Invitation!]
[Wow, what a top-tier male seduction!]
[Mianmian, go for it! F*ck him!]
[Hahaha! The joys of adult couples~]
[Finally, the main course is here!]
Lin Xingmian was momentarily stunned, his eyelashes fluttering as a faint blush spread across his pale face.
He was both angry and flustered, grabbing the notebook beside him and throwing it at Jiang Zijin.
“Can you be serious for once!”
Jiang Zijin raised his hand, catching the notebook mid-air with a teasing expression. “Well, now you have no choice but to come.”
Lin Xingmian’s breathing quickened, his ears turning red with frustration.
Seeing Jiang Zijin’s calm and composed demeanor only fueled his anger. With a loud “snap” in his mind, it felt as if something had snapped.
He ran his tongue over his back teeth, suddenly standing up and striding toward Jiang Zijin.
Lin Xingmian swung one leg onto the bed, leaning in close to him.
Jiang Zijin’s eyes narrowed slightly, his right hand bracing against the mattress.
“You’re so capable, aren’t you? Why aren’t you talking now!” Lin Xingmian pressed closer, his eyelashes lowering as he gazed down at him with an air of dominance.
Half of his face was hidden in the warm, dim light, his long lashes almost brushing against Jiang Zijin’s.
Jiang Zijin’s gaze never left his face, his eyes darkening as his Adam’s apple bobbed slightly.
Lin Xingmian’s eyelashes fluttered as he reached for the notebook nearby.
But Jiang Zijin’s sharp eyes caught the movement, and he swiftly tossed the notebook behind him.
The poor notebook flew to the headboard before falling to the floor.
Lin Xingmian looked at Jiang Zijin in shock. “You—!”
Jiang Zijin wrapped an arm around Lin Xingmian’s waist, a sly glint in his eyes. “Why do you need a notebook for sleeping? You can read it tomorrow.”
Before Lin Xingmian could react, he was thrown onto the soft bed.
Jiang Zijin leaned over him, his hands on either side of Lin Xingmian’s body, his hot, heavy breath brushing against his neck.
Lin Xingmian’s eyes trembled, the same position bringing back memories of that chaotic, endless night.
It was both exhilarating and torturous.
Jiang Zijin met his slightly dazed gaze, unable to suppress a smirk.
His eyes shifted to the photographer at the door, his expression turning sharp.
“What? How much longer are you planning to watch?”
The photographer was startled, stammering, “I’ll leave right now~”
But the fans in the live stream were too engrossed to let it end.
[No! Stay a little longer!!]
[How about we open a Late-Night Channel? Please!]
[I don’t care! I want to watch! I love it!]
The fans were screaming in the comments, but the photographer didn’t dare stay any longer, quickly retreating and closing the door behind him.
The live stream ended abruptly, leaving the unsatisfied fans howling in the comment section.
Fanfiction writers were fired up, and fan artists were practically burning through their pens!
#My Pure Yet Seductive CP#
#Newlyweds Are the Best#
The video of the two “fighting” on the bed spread across the internet, quickly hailed as the best CP bed scene.
Casual drama fans began tagging various directors of idol dramas.
[I want to see this!!!]
[Make it happen! We’ll fund it!]
[Of course, it’s best with the original cast!]
[I’m so excited, I won’t be able to sleep tonight!]
[They’re already tangled up, and here I am, single and pacing in circles!]
[They probably won’t be able to get up tomorrow~]
Netizens were fervently discussing online, but the two individuals at the center of the discussion were not as heated as one might imagine.
As soon as the camera moved away, Lin Xingmian pushed him aside and stood up.
“Cut down on your impulsive actions; it’s not beneficial for either of us,” Lin Xingmian said coldly.
Lin Xingmian straightened up and adjusted his clothes.
The blush on his face faded, and his cool expression made it seem as though the shyness from a moment ago had never existed.
Jiang Zijin lay on his side, propping himself up on the bed with one hand.
“The reactions online are quite positive. That old man must have seen it too.”
“Besides, you didn’t give me a script. If I didn’t take the initiative, would you have done anything?”
The man’s voice echoed in the room. Lin Xingmian pursed his lips and remained silent.
“You go to sleep first. I’ll rest after finishing the guide,” Lin Xingmian said as he picked up his notebook and sat back in the chair.
Lin Xingmian silently scrolled through his phone, though the handwriting in his notes was slightly crooked.
Jiang Zijin lowered his gaze, took out his laptop, and sat on the recliner by the balcony to work on his documents.
The atmosphere between the two plummeted, and neither spoke first.
As an actor, Lin Xingmian had never been overshadowed in terms of acting skills.
But he was still a novice in variety shows and hadn’t expected this reality show to have absolutely no script.
Uncontrollable people and unpredictable developments made his emotions follow Jiang Zijin’s lead.
This feeling of being controlled was truly unpleasant.
Lin Xingmian gripped his phone tightly. They were just pretending to be a couple; any intimacy was for the sake of mutual benefit.
It was just that Jiang Zijin had a natural talent, and his innate Italian charm gave him the upper hand.
The route for tomorrow was almost fully planned. Lin Xingmian exhaled, closed his notebook, and stood up.
Hearing the movement, Jiang Zijin looked up at him. “Where are you going?”
“We’ll have to sleep separately tonight. I’ll contact the landlord for an extra blanket,” Lin Xingmian said calmly.
Jiang Zijin’s expression faltered slightly. He lowered his eyelashes and let out a nonchalant “Oh.”
Lin Xingmian opened the door and tiptoed downstairs, only to find the landlord still tidying up wine glasses in the lobby.
“Excuse me, could you provide an extra blanket here?”
The landlord looked slightly surprised but didn’t press for details. He simply explained,
“Sorry, but your director said that all additional expenses won’t be reimbursed by the production team. You’ll have to use your travel funds to cover it. Would you like to spend 50 euros on a blanket?”
Lin Xingmian was startled by the price and immediately declined politely. “Thanks, but I’ll pass for now.”
The production team had only given them 100 euros. He could manage without a blanket.
Lin Xingmian returned to the room and once again met Jiang Zijin’s gaze.
Seeing his empty hands, Jiang Zijin raised an eyebrow. “No blanket?”
“No. From now on, we can only use the funds provided by the production team. It’s better not to waste them on a blanket,” Lin Xingmian said indifferently, opening his luggage to organize his clothes.
“Then where will I sleep tonight?” The deep male voice broke the silence in the room.
Lin Xingmian looked up and met a pair of ocean-like eyes.
The man’s brow bone was high, and his peach blossom eyes were strikingly beautiful, yet it was hard to discern his emotions.
Lin Xingmian didn’t answer him directly, his gaze unwavering. “Where do you want to sleep?”
Jiang Zijin’s body stiffened slightly. He brushed his long bangs aside and said casually, “I can sleep anywhere.”
“Alright, move your precious butt. You take the bed today, I’ll sleep on the chair,” Lin Xingmian said, holding his clothes as he walked into the bathroom.
Jiang Zijin lowered his hand and lay back down on the wooden recliner.
The scenery outside the window was perfect, with a cloudless sky and the bright full moon reflected on the river’s surface.
Occasionally, a boat or two would pass by, breaking the calm of the lake, the river flowing with a gentle murmur.
After being by his side for so long, had he really not noticed anything?
Or perhaps, he no longer remembered.
Well, it was something that happened so many years ago, who would remember?
Jiang Zijin lowered his gaze to the report on his computer, but his thoughts had already drifted far away.
“Jiang Zijin, why are you still sitting here?” Lin Xingmian emerged from the bathroom, dressed in a set of black pajamas and holding his changed clothes.
The black pajamas were neatly buttoned up to the top, and his bangs were combed perfectly in place.
“I’m sleeping here. I can’t be bothered to move,” Jiang Zijin said lazily, not making any effort to get up.
Lin Xingmian didn’t pay him any mind. He tidied up his things, pulled back the blanket, turned off the light, and prepared to sleep.
The moonlight outside was bright, and even with the lights off, the balcony was clearly visible.
The wind blew the curtains, making them flutter in the air, tracing one arc after another.
The tall man curled up on the recliner, inexplicably appearing somewhat lonely and desolate.
What’s with this? Making it seem like he was some lonely old man. He had given Jiang Zijin a choice, after all.
Lin Xingmian turned over, not wanting to look at him.
Perhaps because he was preparing for the trip, Lin Xingmian’s mind was wide awake.
He tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.
After a while, he let out a sigh, got up, and threw off the blanket.
He rummaged through his suitcase, searching for something.
Hearing the noise, Jiang Zijin was about to turn around.
A warm and heavy coat was draped over him.
“Don’t catch a cold and add to my burden as a guide,” Lin Xingmian said, his tone indifferent as he adjusted the hem of the coat.
Jiang Zijin glanced at the coat on him, a slight smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
There was a rustling sound from the bed, and after a while, it fell silent.
Jiang Zijin looked over at the bed, where Lin Xingmian now seemed to be asleep.
His neatly combed hair had become disheveled, and his long eyelashes caught the fragmented moonlight.
The man’s breathing was even and steady, and the furrowed brows had relaxed.
The evening breeze of Venice stirred the river’s surface, creating ripples on the calm water.
