Chapter 1: The Attack, Soul Transfer
Luo Qi Qi floated in mid-air, her entire being—no, her entire ghost—still in a state of utter confusion.
She still couldn’t understand why her best friend, Chu Yun Yue, would betray her, pushing her into a horde of thousands of zombies when she was completely unprepared.
Despite not having awakened any special powers herself, Luo Qi Qi had always been good to her. Because of her help, she was living better than most people at the central base.
Chu Yun Yue stood atop the wall, watching the body that was quickly devoured and disfigured by the zombies. Suddenly, her face twisted into a maniacal grin as she laughed loudly.
“Luo Qi Qi, now it’s your turn. I’ve been waiting for this day for so long. You always thought you were better than me just because you were an important member of the lab. What makes you so special?”
“Why does Brother Song only see you? Now, you’re dead, and Brother Song will finally see me for who I am…”
Luo Qi Qi couldn’t believe that this was the reason. She looked at her former best friend with a complicated expression, noticing how unfamiliar and twisted she had become.
The Brother Song she mentioned vaguely registered in Luo Qi Qi’s memory. He was a base member with fire abilities, someone she had gone on a few missions with. They had only spoken a handful of times, never more than ten words in total.
She never knew that he held such feelings for her.
Luo Qi Qi had known Chu Yun Yue before the apocalypse. After the chaos began, her family didn’t survive the riots.
The two of them had encouraged each other through long, hard days of survival.
Later, Luo Qi Qi awakened her powers and joined the base, thinking her life would gradually improve. But she never imagined she would die at the hands of the one she trusted the most. It wasn’t that she wasn’t sad—she was, but what really saddened her was the research she had worked so hard on. She hoped it could continue, as it was humanity’s hope…
Luo Qi Qi’s consciousness began to fade.
“That guy’s idea is really not bad. Look at this little face, so soft and tender!”
A greasy, lecherous voice sounded nearby, accompanied by the sound of someone slurping.
“Look how well-fed she is. Who knows what she’s hiding? She’s been whining so much, if we’re not careful, others might hear. Er Gou, come over and shut her up.”
Another rough, hoarse voice followed.
“Ugh…” A struggling sound came from Luo Qi Qi.
“Boss, you go first. I’ll wait. The one outside is too dry, no taste. But this one looks like it’ll be good…”
“You go first. I’ll look around for a bit. There must be more stuff.”
“Heh, well then, I won’t be polite…”
Just as those greasy hands were about to touch Luo Qi Qi, Luo Shi Tou (Luo’s younger brother) desperately tried to crawl over.
But no matter how hard he struggled, he couldn’t break free from the ropes that bound him.
In his frantic attempts, he accidentally knocked over a nearby wooden stool, creating a loud “bang.”
It was that “bang” that startled Luo Qi Qi, who had been drifting in a daze.
No, she should now be called Luo Qi Qi.
Actually, Luo Qi Qi had regained some consciousness when those two people entered.
She just couldn’t fully control the body yet, so she was stuck, helpless and anxious.
That noise, however, allowed Luo Qi Qi to finally take control of the body.
She suddenly sat up, scaring the men so much that they froze in place, their eyes wide in shock.
“Ah, she’s not dead! It’s a zombie!”
The men were so startled that one of them fell onto the ground.
The noise alarmed another man who had been rummaging for things in a nearby room. He hurried over, panicked.
“Stop with the ghost sounds, she’s not dead! If you want to have fun, do it quick. If not, go back to looking for stuff.”
“Boss, she didn’t have a breath just now. I… I’m scared…” The man called Er Gou stood up, trembling in fear.
“Such bad luck,” the boss grumbled. “Come over and tie her up. Don’t forget why we came here.”
Of course, Er Gou remembered. They were both wanted criminals, with a bounty on their heads. They had been hiding in the deep mountains, afraid to show themselves for days. They hadn’t had a full meal in ages.
With the raiders coming, the villagers had scattered—some ran, others hid. The once bustling village was now almost deserted.
The few remaining villagers were mostly elderly, unable to move, and they no longer had the will to relocate.
The two men had planned to take advantage of this time to loot the village.
Meeting Luo Qi Qi’s family had not been part of their plan at all.
After all, her family’s house was really not good in this village, so these two naturally wouldn’t come knocking so quickly.
The story has to start from when they met the third son of the Luo family (Luo Laosan).
The people in the old house had already left in the morning with the last wave of refugees
Luo Laosan’s mind was very active. He thought that since everyone was gone now, it was a good time to go through each house and collect things.
So he quietly took his eldest daughter, Luo Qiao’er, and snuck into one of the relatively wealthy families’ homes.
As expected, this family was probably too panicked and only took the more valuable items.
Things like quilts, baskets, some coarse grains… there were still quite a lot left.
Seeing these, Luo Laosan excitedly shouted.
“We’re rich! We’re rich! What are you standing there for? Hurry up and pack them. These are all mine, hahahaha…”
The triumphant Luo Laosan only then remembered that someone had come with him. He turned around but didn’t see her.
“Where did this dead girl go? Get your ass over here and work!”
He grumbled and walked out. Just as he stepped out the door, he saw two unfamiliar faces pulling and dragging Luo Qiao’er.
Luo Qiao’er also saw her father at this moment.
As if she had grabbed a life-saving straw, she immediately cried out even more intensely.
“Dad! Dad! Save me! Help!”
Luo Laosan’s leg, which he was about to pull back, froze in place.
The two fierce-looking men simultaneously turned and looked over.
“Sirs, I was just passing by. You two continue, you two continue,” Luo Laosan said with a forced smile.
The two men had an expression that seemed to say, “Do you think I believe you?” They dragged Luo Qiao’er towards him.
When they reached the doorway, they threw Luo Qiao’er onto the ground.
“Where do you think you’re going?” the tall, thin one asked with a grin.
The tall, strong one stepped over the threshold and glanced inside. “Oh, this family is quite rich. You, go and pack up everything useful for me.”
“Okay, okay, okay.”
Luo Laosan was so cowardly he couldn’t move properly. He scrambled and crawled into the house.
As he turned around, his butt was kicked by the thin, tall one.
“Stop dawdling! If you dare to hide anything, I’ll chop off your hand,” the thin, tall one threatened.
“I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t dare,” Luo Laosan said hastily.
Laughter came from behind him.
One person pushed and dragged Luo Qiao’er away. At this moment, Luo Qiao’er was like a puppet on a string, no longer struggling.
One person stayed there and watched Luo Laosan.
After a while, the other one went over. Luo Laosan didn’t dare to make a sound the whole time.
After a long time, both of them returned to the courtyard.
Looking at the packed items, they were so happy they couldn’t close their mouths.
Then they turned their gaze to Luo Laosan. Luo Laosan was so scared that he immediately knelt on the ground.
“Sirs, please don’t kill me. I know where there are more supplies. Please spare my life…”
Then he told them that Luo Qiqi’s family was still in the village and had quite a lot of supplies.
Luo Laosan led them to Luo Qiqi’s house, and even the collapsed Luo Qiao’er was dragged along.
Then the scene that Luo Qiqi saw after she transmigrated happened.
The thin, tall one, Ergou, muttered and walked towards Luo Qiqi.
Before his hand even touched her, a heart-wrenching scream erupted.
“Ah! You stinky bitch! Let go! Ah! Boss, help! My hand is going to break!”
Luo Qiqi’s face was cold. She directly got out of bed. With just one effort, she broke his finger.
Then she kicked that person’s knee, and that person uncontrollably knelt in front of Luo Qiqi.
Luo Shitong, who was standing nearby, was stunned.
When did Sister become so powerful? But she’s so cool!
Stars were shining in his bright black eyes.
