A colossal creature descended from the sky, its black wings stretching wide enough to obscure the sun.

The shadow it cast fell swiftly as it dove at an alarming speed, carrying a fierce gust of wind.

It resembled a crow but was hundreds of times larger, with a sharp, elongated beak.

Its crimson eyes were filled with a sinister, malevolent aura.

“Wait a bit longer,” Xu Shen replied, climbing back to the cliff and grabbing an iron chain. “The responders and hall masters will come. We need to get down for now—staying on the cliff puts us at a disadvantage.”

“What about Senior Yue?” Chang Fei asked.

Before the question could fully leave his lips, the crow demon roared again.

Failing to shake Yue Liangze off, its fury escalated. It began spewing fire while flying erratically, even flipping upside down in the air.

Yue Liangze clung tightly to its wing, maintaining his calm as he used every opportunity to stabilize himself and avoid being thrown off.

Ling Luo descended to the level where Yue Liangze and the crow demon were.

Song Yuanyuan rushed to try and catch them, but before she could, a pillar of light appeared on the ground.

Chang Fei and Xu Shen were enveloped in a layer of spiritual energy and landed safely.

“What happened?” Song Yuanyuan helped them up, panicked. “What’s going on?”

“The black demon bird!” Xu Shen exclaimed. “The Chaos of Ten Thousand Demons in the Sky-Swallowing Tower spawned here! Ling Luo and Senior Brother Yue are on its back!”

“What?!” Song Yuanyuan cried, her voice rising. “This place suppresses spiritual power! How are they supposed to survive up there?”

But Chang Fei, cracking his knuckles, said enthusiastically, “This is our chance! That big guy can drop divine weapons—DIVINE weapons! A billion and six hundred million! We can’t miss this opportunity!”

“A billion and six hundred million what?” Song Yuanyuan asked, confused, scratching her head.

Chang Fei gestured emphatically. “Divine weapon prices! Aren’t you tempted by 1.6 billion?”

Song Yuanyuan gasped. “That much?! Then what about them—”

Before she could finish, the black demon bird screeched and dove toward them, spreading its massive wings.

Razor-sharp feather blades rained down, leaving deep gouges on the canyon walls.

Ling Luo shouted from above, “Chains!”

To control the demon bird, its massive wings had to be crippled first, grounding it. Once grounded, it would be no more threatening than a common dog.

Chang Fei and Xu Shen quickly reacted, separating and timing their throws to toss iron chains toward Ling Luo and Yue Liangze.

Song Yuanyuan, however, paled. “I—I can’t climb up there!”

“Then find a way to distract it!” Ling Luo snapped, her voice muffled against the wind. “Lure it down here!”

Song Yuanyuan clenched her fists. “Fine! I’ll be the bait! Come at me, 1.6 billion!”

Despite the lack of spiritual power, their training gave them a significant advantage over ordinary people.

Though a bit overweight, Song Yuanyuan ran surprisingly fast.

She hurled objects at the demon bird while hurling insults to provoke it. “Come hit me, you idiot! Look at you—not quite a crow, not quite a sparrow! And those three eyes? Ugly freak! You’re a low-class demon trying to mimic Erlang Shen’s looks? Have some shame!”

The black demon bird, enraged, let out an ear-piercing screech and chased Song Yuanyuan, momentarily ignoring the two on its back.

Song Yuanyuan screamed as she ran. “Come on! If you don’t catch me, you’re a pig! An even stupider pig than a flower pig!”

The furious demon bird flew low but still retained some caution, occasionally pulling up sharply.

Song Yuanyuan dodged its feather attacks, rolling away just in time to avoid its claws. “Haha! You can’t catch me, ugly freak!”

Her reckless taunts gave Chang Fei and Xu Shen the opportunity to throw iron chains to Ling Luo and Yue Liangze.

The chains, made of black iron, were tough and nearly unbreakable.

At first, the demon bird ignored them, but as more chains—six or seven—entangled its wings, their weight began to hinder its flight, each flap accompanied by clanging sounds.

Frustrated, the demon bird turned its attention to the two on its back, but it was too late.

In a final clash, she wielded a dagger and severed its tongue, cutting off its fire attack ability.

The demon bird’s screeches became distorted as blood splattered the canyon walls and ground.

With its wings broken by Ling Luo and Yue Liangze, the bird crashed to the ground, flapping helplessly.

Song Yuanyuan collapsed onto the ground, trembling with relief. “We did it!”

Chang Fei cheered the loudest, hugging Xu Shen. “1.6 billion! Hahaha!”

Yue Liangze jumped down and looked up at Ling Luo, who was balancing on the bird’s back.

He reached out to her.

Ling Luo glanced at him, about to take his hand when a piercing whistle broke the air.

A longsword flew straight at her.

Yue Liangze reacted instantly, pulling her down and dodging the blade.

The sword embedded itself in the canyon wall, and a cold female voice echoed:

“Who dares violate the rules and steal this demon bird kill from me?”
