Chapter 8: The Act

Xiao Miaomiao was tired of pretending to be harmonious with them. She watched their shocked expressions and a mocking smile curled up at the corners of her lips.

“If you don’t want people to know, then don’t do it.” She looked at them coldly, her voice firm and unwavering. “The evidence of your adultery during your marriage, I have it all. Not only do I have it, but my friends do too. So, you better not provoke me, and don’t even think about hurting me. Otherwise, the consequences will be unimaginable.”

Xiao Yuyan felt an unprecedented fear at this moment. She didn’t want to be branded as a child born out of wedlock. She dreamed of becoming a glamorous star, not being entangled in scandals. She trembled and tried to defend herself, but Xiao Miaomiao was no longer willing to listen to her speak another word.

Both Xiao Lin and Lin Yushuang did not expect this situation. They had thought that Xiao Miaomiao was just a pretty face, but they had misjudged her.

Lin Yushuang was also uneasy. She thought that the matter had been concealed very well, but she didn’t expect Xiao Miaomiao to find out.

Xiao Miaomiao glanced at them lightly, a mocking smile playing on her lips. She continued, “Is this your so-called attitude of asking for help? It’s truly eye-opening.”

Her words carried a hint of coldness, yet with a touch of mockery, as if she were watching an absurd farce.

Xiao Lin also remembered that he had asked Xiao Miaomiao to come back today to persuade her to ask Hong Wenbin for help in securing the cooperation with the Hong family. However, after listening to Lin Yushuang, he had made Xiao Miaomiao stand outside for ten minutes before opening the door.

“Miaomiao, don’t be petty with your Lin Aunt. She’s just narrow-minded, don’t mind her. If you can get Wenbin to help, and if this cooperation with the Hong family goes through, our Xiao family will rise to a higher level, and it will also elevate your status in the Hong family.” Xiao Lin said to Xiao Miaomiao.

“You also have shares in our Xiao Group, it will be beneficial to you, just agree to it.” Xiao Lin looked at Xiao Miaomiao with a concerned expression.

“Miaomiao, I’m your father, how could I harm you?” Xiao Lin looked at Xiao Miaomiao and tried to appeal to her emotions.

Xiao Miaomiao found it quite ridiculous and said to Xiao Lin, “You probably wish I would die soon, right?”

“If I hadn’t married Hong Wenbin first, you would have married me off to that old man, Mr. Mei, wouldn’t you?” Xiao Miaomiao looked at them and said, “Am I right?”

“How did you know?” Lin Yushuang looked at Xiao Miaomiao in disbelief. Wasn’t this a secret known only to them? They hadn’t told Xiao Miaomiao about it. They had originally planned to let the deed precede the word and leave Xiao Miaomiao with no room for regret, so that she wouldn’t cling to the Hong family. They wouldn’t dare to take her shares, after all, their family was truly no match for the Hong family.

“It doesn’t matter how I know. I came here today to tell you that I’ve already divorced Hong Wenbin, and also, I’ve sold all my shares in the Xiao Group, to your arch-rival, Uncle Jiang.” Xiao Miaomiao said to Xiao Lin.

Xiao Lin looked at Xiao Miaomiao in disbelief.

“How dare you?” Xiao Lin stood up and was about to attack Xiao Miaomiao.

Xiao Miaomiao wasn’t a fool, she wouldn’t stand there and let him hit her. “You dare to hit me again? I’ll go out and immediately expose your adultery and your child. Then you will be the one truly disgraced.”

“My friend knew about it before I came. If he didn’t see me go back, he would have noticed. So don’t even think about it.” After saying this, Xiao Miaomiao turned to leave.

Xiao Lin picked up a cup from the table and threw it next to Xiao Miaomiao. “Get out, and don’t ever come back. I’ll pretend I never had a daughter like you.”

“That’s fine, I never considered you my father.” Xiao Miaomiao chuckled.

Xiao Miaomiao left without a moment’s hesitation.

Xiao Lin smashed everything he could around him and slapped Lin Yushuang.

“Ah.” Lin Yushuang couldn’t believe he had hit her. She had been with him for twenty-two years, and even given him a son and a daughter. She might not have any merit, but she had certainly put in the effort.

If she hadn’t seduced him back then, he wouldn’t have cheated on his wife, wouldn’t have left behind evidence, and wouldn’t have let that little b*tch Xiao Miaomiao find out.

“Xiao Lin, you actually hit me.”

“Mom.” Xiao Yuyan rushed forward to hug her mother. “Dad, it was that b*tch Xiao Miaomiao’s fault. Why are you blaming Mom?”

“If it wasn’t for your mother seducing me, I wouldn’t have cheated on my wife, I wouldn’t have left behind evidence for Xiao Miaomiao to find out, and now she’s sold her shares to Jiang Chuan.
