Chapter 13: Asleep
Lin Haiyang looked around as he walked, stopping when he saw the back of a head under the covers. He smiled contentedly.
“Mr. Fu is resting so early.”
“Ah? Yes,” Lu Yunshang looked at the person under the covers. She could only see the back of their head and couldn’t tell who it was. She finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Lin Haiyang hung up the clothes and closed the closet, “Madam, rest early as well.”
“Thank you, Manager Lin.”
“The two bodyguards at the door were ordered by Old Master to protect Young Master and Madam’s safety. Madam, rest assured, this house is well-insulated. They won’t disturb you outside.”
Lu Yunshang froze, her smile more bitter than tears, “Grandpa really… thinks so thoroughly.”
Her inner voice was screaming, Heavens, what should I do?
How will Fu Changqing get out?
Lin Haiyang reached the door, stopping Lu Yunshang. He instructed the two bodyguards before closing the door and leaving.
Lu Yunshang quickly ran back and lifted the covers, “President Fu, Manager Lin left two bodyguards at the door. What should we do?”
Fu Changqing stood up, straightened his clothes and hair, and said with a smile, “Then Miss Lu will have to squeeze with me tonight.”
Lu Yunshang frowned, close to tears.
“Miss Lu, are you afraid of me?”
Lu Yunshang bit her lip. It wasn’t about fear, “President Fu, I’m afraid that if this gets out, it will ruin your reputation.”
Fu Changqing sat down on the sofa, “That’s good. It can help clear up the rumor that I don’t get close to women.”
Lu Yunshang: …
“This sofa is quite comfortable. I’ll sleep on the sofa tonight. Miss Lu can rest assured. I won’t disturb your rest,” Fu Changqing said, and actually lay down.
“President Fu, the sofa is cold. You’ll catch a cold.”
“Then shall we squeeze together?”
Lu Yunshang cried, that’s not what I meant.
Fu Changqing stole a glance at Lu Yunshang, secretly smiling. He just wanted to tease her, and she actually took it seriously.
“I seem hungry. I was busy talking with Grandpa during dinner and didn’t eat much. Miss Lu didn’t eat much either, did you? Let’s have a late-night snack before sleeping.”
Fu Changqing sat up and took out his phone to make a call, “Huzi, ask the kitchen to send a late-night snack to Lotus. Call Manager Liu and Doctor Jiang over, and bring a few more bodyguards.”
Lu Yunshang didn’t understand what Fu Changqing was trying to do. Why did he call so many people here? Was he afraid that others wouldn’t know that a man and a woman were alone together at night?
In less than five minutes, the doorbell rang.
Lu Yunshang quickly opened the door, and several servers rushed into the room with food. Huzi also arrived with bodyguards.
The two bodyguards Old Master had arranged at the door were puzzled but didn’t dare to interfere.
The room suddenly became lively.
Liu Jingting and Jiang Bogen also came. They were puzzled at first, but when they saw the delicious food, they forgot their questions and ate without hesitation.
Fu Changqing handed a piece of osmanthus cake to Lu Yunshang, “Miss Lu, try this osmanthus cake.”
It smelled so good. Lu Yunshang was tempted. Forget it, she should eat and drink. She took the cake and took a bite, “It’s really good. It would be even better with a cup of osmanthus tea.”
“That’s easy,” Fu Changqing smiled and gestured, “Huzi, ask the kitchen to send osmanthus tea. If anyone wants anything else, just say it. As long as the kitchen has it, we can make it.”
Liu Jingting leaned over, “Can we have some grilled skewers and beer?”
An hour later.
Outside, Old Master Fu’s two bodyguards and Fu Changqing’s bodyguards were squatting on the ground drinking beer and eating grilled skewers.
Inside, Lu Yunshang’s face was slightly flushed. She was singing karaoke with Liu Jingting, arm in arm. Jiang Bogen and Huzi were playing a drinking game, and Jiang Bogen was clearly drunk.
Fu Changqing sat on a single sofa, smoking a cigar, smiling and enjoying everything.
Lu Yunshang sang and bounced to Fu Changqing, “President Fu, do you sing?”
Fu Changqing patted her head indulgently, “I don’t.”
Lu Yunshang straightened up and squatted down again, “President Fu, have we met somewhere before? I feel like you look familiar.”
Fu Changqing froze, a smile playing on his lips, “We are indeed old acquaintances.”
“Really?” Lu Yunshang tilted her head, “But I really can’t remember.”
“Don’t worry, take your time.”
“Okay,” Lu Yunshang replied and bounced back to the TV to continue singing with Liu Jingting.
Fu Changqing looked at the beautiful figure, turning the dragon-patterned ring on his hand, the corners of his lips rising, “Don’t worry, we have plenty of time.”
When Fu Hanzhou and Su Qiyi arrived, except for Fu Changqing and Huzi, everyone inside and outside the house was almost drunk.
“So much delicious food,” Su Qiyi grabbed a handful of mutton skewers and bit into them, kicking Jiang Bogen, “You drink so poorly and still drink.”
Lu Yunshang lay sprawled on the bed. Fu Changqing pulled the blanket from under her and covered her.
Fu Hanzhou frowned. There were so many men in the room, and they didn’t pay attention to their image. They were really carefree.
He walked over and snatched the blanket from Fu Changqing, “Brother, go back and rest.”
But Fu Changqing held onto the blanket.
Fu Hanzhou was surprised and also grabbed the blanket. Their eyes met, and the atmosphere was tense.
“Brother, what are you doing?” Fu Ruoyun suddenly barged in, seeing Fu Changqing and Fu Hanzhou fighting over the blanket, looking puzzled.
Then she saw the person on the bed and immediately scowled.
She turned to Fu Changqing, “Brother, I’m afraid of sleeping alone. Will you keep me company?”
A hint of displeasure flashed in Fu Changqing’s eyes, but he quickly regained his indifferent expression.
He let go of the blanket, glanced at the person on the bed, and left the room.
Fu Ruoyun quickly followed, with a smug smile on her face.
After watching Fu Changqing and his entourage leave, Fu Hanzhou’s tightly furrowed brows finally relaxed. He was increasingly unable to understand his brother’s actions. Why did he always appear beside Lu Yunshang?
The next morning.
Lu Yunshang, who was sleeping soundly, was awakened by the “ding dong, ding dong” of the doorbell.
She groggily got up to open the door.
“Madam, good morning. Old Master asked me to bring you breakfast,” Lin Haiyang said and let the servers bring in breakfast.
“Who is it? It’s so noisy early in the morning.”
Lu Yunshang froze. Was that Fu Hanzhou’s voice? Why was he here?
She returned to the room and saw Fu Hanzhou emerging from the covers. Lu Yunshang’s eyes almost popped out.
“Young Master, good morning,” Lin Haiyang smiled at Fu Hanzhou, “Then I won’t disturb your rest.”
As soon as Lin Haiyang left, Lu Yunshang immediately pulled Fu Hanzhou out of the covers, “Why are you in my bed?”
“You were drunk last night and insisted I stay to keep you company.”
“Do you think I’m stupid?”
“…”
“Get out. Don’t let me see you again. I’ll hit you every time I see you,” Lu Yunshang said angrily.
Fu Hanzhou yawned, slowly picked up his coat, and put it on, “Can I finish my breakfast before I leave?”
Lu Yunshang’s eyes flashed, “If you don’t leave, I will.”
“Okay, okay, I’ll go. It’s so cold outside. You’re delicate. If you catch a cold, Grandpa will trouble me again,” Fu Hanzhou said, putting on his shoes.
Lu Yunshang thought for a moment and reminded him,
“Fu Hanzhou, no matter what Grandpa says or does, I hope you remember one fact: we are divorced. There will never be a possibility between us.”
Fu Hanzhou stopped, quickly changing to a dark expression.
“Lu Yunshang, don’t be delusional. I did this to protect Nianzhen and the child. I don’t really want to remarry you. There has never been a possibility between us.”
