Chapter 22: He Likes You

Lu Yunshang and Liu Jingting rushed to the hospital by car.

At the bottom of the hospital building, they saw many people looking up.

Su Qiyi called, “Miss Lu, Miss Tang has been found. She’s on the roof of the inpatient building, threatening to jump.”

Lu Yunshang looked up, her heart leaping into her throat, her hands trembling.

Liu Jingting supported her as they ran into the inpatient building to find an elevator.

In the elevator, Lu Yunshang clasped her hands together, praying for Tang Tang’s safety, while Liu Jingting comforted her, urging her to stay calm.

Finally reaching the top floor, Su Qiyi breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Lu Yunshang. He called out to the woman standing at the edge of the roof.

“Miss Tang, look who’s here.”

Lu Yunshang finally saw clearly that the woman was indeed Tang Tang. Although they hadn’t seen each other for many years, and Tang Tang had grown her hair long, she recognized her at a glance—Tang Tang with a red birthmark at the end of her right eyebrow.

“Yunshang?” Tang Tang was astonished. “Yunshang, is it really you?”

Lu Yunshang nodded vigorously. “Tang Tang, it’s me, it’s really me. Look, my senior brother, Jingting, is here too.”

“Tang Tang, I’m Liu Jingting. Do you remember me?”

Liu Jingting spoke as he cautiously approached Tang Tang.

Tears rolled down Tang Tang’s eyes.

“It’s all over, Tang Tang. I’ll be with you from now on,” Lu Yunshang comforted her.

“Yunshang,” Tang Tang sobbed uncontrollably, her body collapsing as she sat on the ground.

Lu Yunshang rushed forward and hugged her.

“It’ll be alright. Trust me, I’ll definitely make sure you have a good life.”

Watching the two girls embrace and weep, Liu Jingting’s eyes also welled up. He stood silently beside them, keeping watch.

Su Qiyi dismissed the other medical staff. He walked over to the two girls. “Yunshang, take Miss Tang back to the ward to rest. She’s still very weak, and it’s windy on the roof.”

Lu Yunshang quickly released Tang Tang and, together with Liu Jingting, helped her back to the ward.

After settling Tang Tang in bed, Lu Yunshang asked her what had happened after she ran away and how she ended up in Huacheng.

Tang Tang told her that she hadn’t dared to stop running after escaping from the hospital that night.

She ran along the highway under the moonlight, hiding whenever she saw a car.

After running for an hour, she was too exhausted to continue and hid in the restroom of a gas station.

A truck happened to stop for gas, and she secretly climbed onto the truck bed, eventually being taken to Huacheng.

“I’ve done many jobs here—dishwasher, food delivery, nanny. As long as I had a place to stay and food to eat, it was enough. Last year, I saw that Blue Bay was hiring waitresses, so I applied.”

Tang Tang said, covering her face and weeping, “I didn’t expect Yang Gang to find me in Huacheng. He won’t let me go. I’ll never be able to escape him unless I die.”

“No, senior brother will have a lawyer talk to Yang Gang. Do you have his contact information?”

Tang Tang shook her head.

“He’ll definitely come looking for you. Let’s wait for him and talk to him properly.”

Lu Yunshang patted Tang Tang’s shoulder. “Don’t worry about the money. I’ll take care of it. Just take care of your health. After you’re discharged, come live with me. I live alone, and we can keep each other company.”

Tang Tang then remembered to ask Lu Yunshang and Liu Jingting, “How did you two end up in Huacheng?”

“We opened a company here, a perfume studio,” Lu Yunshang said, not wanting to mention Fu Han 舟，planning to explain it later.

Liu Jingting often went to the village to visit Lu Yunshang, so Tang Tang knew him as well.

Tang Tang’s eyes welled up. “Thank you both. I’m so happy to see you.”

Lu Yunshang took Tang Tang’s hand. “Don’t ever try to kill yourself again.”

“Yeah, this is Huacheng. Yang Gang won’t dare to act recklessly here. We can report it to the police,” Liu Jingting comforted her.

Tang Tang bit her lip, her eyes full of worry.

Yang Gang was a desperate man, and she was afraid he would implicate Lu Yunshang and Liu Jingting.

When leaving the hospital, Lu Yunshang greeted Su Qiyi, asking him to notify her immediately if Yang Gang came to the hospital looking for Tang Tang.

But Yang Gang disappeared as if into thin air and never showed up.

Liu Jingting had people look for him, but there was no news.

Tang Tang stayed in the hospital for three days, and Lu Yunshang visited her every day after work.

She would work overtime at night to develop the perfume for the Fu Corporation bidding competition.

On the day of her discharge, Lu Yunshang drove to the hospital to pick Tang Tang up and took her home.

She settled Tang Tang in the guest room.

Seeing the interior decoration and Lu Yunshang’s belongings, Tang Tang was puzzled. “Yunshang, do perfumers really make that much money?”

Lu Yunshang smiled. “Excellent perfumers earn a good income.”

“Then you must be very excellent,” Tang Tang said enviously.

“As long as you work hard, you’ll be rewarded,” Lu Yunshang patted Tang Tang’s hand. “By the way, do you still want to go back to work at Blue Bay?”

Tang Tang nodded. “I want to go back, but I’m afraid of Yang Gang…”

“If you want to go back, go back. I think you’ll be safer there than anywhere else.”

Lu Yunshang thought she would call Fu Changqing later and ask him to help take care of Tang Tang.

The doorbell rang at that moment.

Lu Yunshang got up to open the door and saw Fu Changqing standing at the door holding a large bouquet of white roses.

She froze. It was like he appeared out of nowhere.

Fu Changqing handed the white roses to Lu Yunshang. “Those flowers must have wilted. They need replacing.”

“Yunshang, who is it?”

Seeing Lu Yunshang not moving at the door, Tang Tang came out to ask.

Then she froze.

“Master Jiu…”

Fu Changqing nodded in response to Tang Tang.

He walked past Lu Yunshang and put on a pair of slippers at the entrance.

“Are these men’s slippers for Manager Liu? They fit my feet quite well.”

Lu Yunshang closed the door and explained to Tang Tang, “Our studio cooperates with Mr. Fu.”

After entering the house, Fu Changqing went straight to the single sofa and sat down.

Tang Tang was puzzled. Mr. Fu seemed very familiar with this house, not like he was visiting for the first time.

“Are you feeling better?” Fu Changqing asked Tang Tang.

“Much better, thank you, Mr. Fu,” Tang Tang replied, looking at Lu Yunshang with questioning eyes.

Lu Yunshang quickly explained, “The day you were sent to the hospital for emergency treatment, I happened to be having dinner with Mr. Fu, so we went to the hospital together. So he knows a little about what happened to you.”

Tang Tang nodded. “Thank you, Mr. Fu.”

“Right,” Lu Yunshang looked at Fu Changqing. “Mr. Fu, Tang Tang wants to go back to work at Blue Bay. Can you let her go back?”

“Rest assured, go back to work. I’ll instruct the security department to be more vigilant. If Yang Gang causes trouble, we’ll call the police.”

“Thank you, Mr. Fu,” Tang Tang happily took Lu Yunshang’s hand. “Thank you, Yunshang.”

Lu Yunshang looked at Fu Changqing, and he looked at her too.

Their eyes met, and Lu Yunshang’s face flushed red. She quickly said, “I’ll go make tea.”

Tang Tang looked at the two of them, a smile playing on her lips.

She followed Lu Yunshang into the kitchen and whispered, “Yunshang, does Mr. Fu like you?”

Lu Yunshang’s face turned even redder. “Don’t talk nonsense. That’s not true.”

Tang Tang didn’t intend to let her off. “You like Mr. Fu too, don’t you?”

Lu Yunshang’s hand paused.

Tang Tang chuckled. “You two are blinded by love, while we outsiders can see clearly.”
