Chapter 26: Collapse

Fu Hanzhou froze.

“This is a public place, and Miss Xiao is still watching. How long do you intend to hold my hand?”

Lu Yunshang turned to look at Xiao Nianzhen. The woman’s face was green with anger.

Fu Hanzhou reluctantly released her hand. “No one is taking your husband. If you want to remarry, we can do it anytime.”

Lu Yunshang was both angry and amused. “Mr. Fu, do you know what you’re doing? You want to have your cake and eat it too? That’s the life you men dream of, right?”

“Lu Yunshang, can’t you speak to me properly?”

“Mr. Fu, I treat people the way they treat me. Mr. Fu, you should reflect on your actions.”

Lu Yunshang was about to leave when she heard him say helplessly, “My mother asked me to accompany Nianzhen to see a movie. Nianzhen’s pregnancy was an accident. I didn’t intentionally hurt you.”

Lu Yunshang’s heart trembled. “Mr. Fu, adults should be responsible for their actions.”

Fu Hanzhou stared at Lu Yunshang, hesitant to speak.

“Yunshang,” Tang Tang came over with bags in her hands. “The movie is about to start. Let’s go in… Mr. Fu.”

Fu Hanzhou was also surprised to see Tang Tang. “Do you two know each other?”

Tang Tang nodded, unsure how to answer.

“Let’s go,” Lu Yunshang walked ahead, and Tang Tang quickly followed.

Xiao Nianzhen came over with popcorn and drinks. “Hanzhou，let’s go in. The movie is about to start.”

Fu Hanzhou looked at Lu Yunshang’s back, feeling uneasy.

During the movie, Fu Hanzhou kept looking at the back of Lu Yunshang’s head.

After their last meeting at the old house, his father, Fu Pengyu, had confined him to the house for reflection until his grandfather calmed down.

His mother, Lin Xiuhou, went to the old house every day to appease his grandfather. Considering the importance of Fu’s eldest grandson, not only was he allowed to return to the company, but Xiao Nianzhen was also accepted.

However, Fu Hanzhou was in low spirits, listless. He didn’t know what was wrong with him.

Until he met Lu Yunshang today, he realized it was all because of Lu Yunshang. Some thorns, once embedded in the heart, leave scars that never truly heal, even after removal.

He felt there was only one solution: to re-embed the thorn, to plug the hole.

As soon as the movie ended, Lu Yunshang quickly pulled Tang Tang out of the cinema and drove home.

Back home, Lu Yunshang went to the bathroom to take a bath.

Tang Tang waited for an hour but didn’t see Lu Yunshang come out, feeling uneasy, so she knocked on the door and called out.

But after several knocks, there was no response.

Tang Tang panicked, quickly turning the doorknob. Fortunately, the door wasn’t locked, but the sight before her startled her.

Lu Yunshang was lying unconscious in the bathtub, her face flushed.

She quickly pulled Lu Yunshang out of the bathtub and onto the floor, trying to press her liangquan point, but there was no response. She ran to the living room to find a phone and prepare to call for an ambulance.

Ding-dong! The doorbell rang.

Tang Tang hurried to open the door and saw Fu Hanzhou standing outside.

She cried out.

Fu Hanzhou was bewildered.

Tang Tang pointed inside while sobbing, “Yunshang, she…”

“What happened to Yunshang?” Fu Hanzhou’s heart clenched.

“She fainted.”

As soon as Tang Tang finished speaking, Fu Hanzhou rushed into the house. “Lu Yunshang, Lu Yunshang, where are you?”

Tang Tang suddenly remembered that Lu Yunshang was naked, so she ran to the bathroom.

She rushed into the bathroom before Fu Hanzhou，slamming the door shut.

She grabbed a towel from the rack, wiping Lu Yunshang’s body while shouting, “Get me a set of clothes.”

Fu Hanzhou frowned and turned to rummage through the closet.

The closet was full of clothes, mostly white. Why did this woman like white so much?

Considering the cold weather outside, he took a set of fleece sportswear to the bathroom door and knocked.

Tang Tang opened the door. “Where’s the underwear?”

Fu Hanzhou’s face flushed red.

Tang Tang was stunned. “You two haven’t… you know…”

Fu Hanzhou scowled and turned back to the closet to look for underwear.

He finally found it in a drawer.

But he hesitated, feeling embarrassed and awkward.

Seeing Fu Hanzhou standing there motionless, Tang Tang rushed out of the bathroom, grabbed a set of underwear, and ran back.

After dressing Lu Yunshang, she opened the door. “We need to take Yunshang to the hospital. You carry her.”

Fu Hanzhou hesitated, then walked into the bathroom and crouched down.

Tang Tang put Lu Yunshang on his back with all her might.

Fu Hanzhou’s heart tightened. It felt like carrying a soft toy doll. He smelled her faint fragrance.

Tang Tang took Lu Yunshang’s bag and her own bag, locked the door behind her, and hurried to the elevator to go to the underground parking garage.

Fu Hanzhou drove to the hospital.

Su Qiyi was about to leave work when Fu Hanzhou called, ordering him, “Come to the emergency room immediately.”

After hanging up, Su Qiyi cursed Fu Hanzhou，this brat, always treating him like a personal doctor, but still hurried to the emergency building.

Entering the emergency room, Su Qiyi saw Lu Yunshang lying on the bed, somewhat unexpectedly.

“What happened to Miss Lu?” he asked Fu Hanzhou while picking up his stethoscope.

“She fainted while taking a bath,” Tang Tang quickly explained. “I saw that she had been in the bathroom for a long time, so I knocked on the door, but no one answered. When I opened the door, I saw her lying motionless in the bathtub.”

Su Qiyi nodded. “You two go out. I’ll examine her.”

But Fu Hanzhou wouldn’t leave. “What kind of examination are you going to do? Why can’t we watch?”

Su Qiyi was annoyed. “Do you want me to examine her or not? Or should we just leave her here?”

Tang Tang quickly pulled Fu Hanzhou. “Let’s wait outside. Don’t delay the doctor.”

Fu Hanzhou reluctantly left, following Tang Tang to the lobby to wait.

He couldn’t sit still, pacing back and forth.

Tang Tang was curious. “Mr. Fu, are you worried about Yunshang?”

Fu Hanzhou froze, sitting down heavily. “Why would I worry about her? I’m worried I can’t go home to sleep tonight.”

“Oh, you’re afraid that if you go home late, Miss Xiao will scold you, right?”

Fu Hanzhou crossed his legs. “What does she have to do with it? I don’t live with her. She can’t control me.”

“Isn’t Miss Xiao pregnant? She needs someone to take care of her. When are you getting married?”

Fu Hanzhou glanced at Tang Tang. “Why are you asking so much? What did Lu Yunshang tell you?”

Tang Tang shook her head. “Yunshang has never mentioned you two to me. I’m just gossiping. Mr. Fu, don’t say it if you don’t want to.”

Fu Hanzhou scrutinized Tang Tang. “When did you get to know Lu Yunshang? Why are you living at her house?”

“Yunshang and I have known each other since we were young. We grew up together, but we separated later. We met again recently. I had some difficulties, and Yunshang was kind enough to let me stay with her.”

Fu Hanzhou took out a cigarette, intending to light it, but seeing a no-smoking sign, he put it away. After thinking for a while, he asked Tang Tang, “Why haven’t I seen Huang Siyuan lately? Has he contacted you?”

Tang Tang lowered her head and whispered, “He’s injured and recovering in the hospital.”

“Injured?” Fu Hanzhou put down his legs and stared at Tang Tang. “How did he get injured? Did he fight again?”

“Yes, he was beaten by my husband.”

Fu Hanzhou jumped up from his chair, about to yell when Su Qiyi hurried over.

“Miss Lu is awake.”
