Chapter 9: Misunderstanding
Liu Jingting sped to the hospital with Lu Yunshang.
Along the way, they analyzed which ingredient might have caused the problem. Liu Jingting thought it was unlikely, as their fragrance supplier was a world-renowned company that promoted green, natural ingredients.
If it wasn’t the ingredients, then it was Xiao Nianzhen’s own problem.
Liu Jingting reassured Lu Yunshang not to be too nervous and to wait and see what happened with Xiao Nianzhen.
Twenty minutes later, they arrived at Huacheng’s largest private hospital. After inquiring at the front desk, they found Xiao Nianzhen’s room number.
When they arrived at the ward, Lu Yunshang saw Fu Hanzhou feeding Xiao Nianzhen chicken soup.
Lu Yunshang’s heart trembled. He wasn’t incapable of tenderness; he simply gave all his tenderness to Xiao Nianzhen.
“Sister Yunshang,” Xiao Nianzhen wasn’t surprised to see Lu Yunshang, but she concealed it well, feigning concern, “Why are you here?”
Fu Hanzhou glared at Lu Yunshang as if he wanted to devour her.
Lu Yunshang ignored him and turned to Xiao Nianzhen, “Miss Xiao, Mr. Fu said you fainted after using our perfume, so we came to see what happened. Our ingredients are all natural.”
“When making the perfume, considering your pregnancy, I was especially careful to avoid ingredients that promote blood circulation. I specially made a floral perfume for you, using jasmine. You can have the perfume tested to see if it’s poisonous.”
Xiao Nianzhen’s face turned pale, “Sister Yunshang, I didn’t suspect your perfume had a problem. I don’t know why, but I fainted after spraying it. I didn’t expect Hanzhou to find you. I really didn’t blame you.”
“Nianzhen, stop talking to her. It must be the perfume,” Fu Hanzhou glared at Lu Yunshang, “I’ve called the police. They’ll be here to investigate soon. I’ll definitely give you an explanation.”
A hint of panic flashed in Xiao Nianzhen’s eyes, “Hanzhou, this is a small matter. Don’t involve the police. Look, I’m fine now. Maybe I’m allergic to jasmine. I won’t use that perfume.”
“How can that be? This can’t be let go. If someone really wants to harm my child, how can I stand idly by? Today it’s poisonous perfume, who knows what poison will come next?”
Fu Hanzhou became more and more agitated, looking at Lu Yunshang as if he wanted to pulverize her.
Lu Yunshang was furious and wanted to slap him.
Liu Jingting held Lu Yunshang back, signaling her to calm down, and asked Fu Hanzhou, “If it’s not the perfume, what will Mr. Fu do?”
Fu Hanzhou sneered, “Humph, it must be the perfume.”
“It’s not the perfume,” a handsome doctor in a white coat appeared at the door.
“Su Qiyi, what are you saying?” Fu Hanzhou looked at the doctor in shock.
Su Qiyi glanced at Lu Yunshang and then at Xiao Nianzhen, “Miss Xiao, your fainting has nothing to do with the perfume. It’s because of low blood sugar and severe malnutrition. You probably haven’t been eating properly.”
Xiao Nianzhen’s face flushed red. She bit her lip and didn’t speak.
Fu Hanzhou stood there dumbfounded, his clenched fists trembling.
“Ha,” Lu Yunshang suddenly laughed, “When will the police arrive? This can’t be let go. If someone really wants to harm me and frame me, how can I stand idly by? Today it’s poisonous perfume, who knows what poison will come next?”
Her gaze was sharp, making Fu Hanzhou’s hair stand on end.
Xiao Nianzhen was afraid that the police wouldn’t be able to handle it, so she quickly said, “Sister Yunshang, look, I told you, my fainting has nothing to do with you. Hanzhou misunderstood. He was anxious when he saw me faint. Sister, please forgive him. I apologize on Hanzhou’s behalf.”
Lu Yunshang rolled her eyes at Xiao Nianzhen, “Let the police investigate properly. Let’s see how vicious my heart is, poisoning my ex-husband’s lover and child with perfume. Fu Hanzhou, do you think I’m stupid?”
Su Qiyi raised his eyebrows, his lips slightly curled, looking at Lu Yunshang with interest. This woman is interesting.
Fu Hanzhou didn’t respond to Lu Yunshang but stared at Su Qiyi, “Have you tested the perfume? How can you be sure it’s not the perfume? Even if Nianzhen fainted because of low blood sugar, it doesn’t mean the perfume has no problem.”
“Fu Hanzhou, that’s enough!” The thunderous voice of Old Master Fu came.
Lu Yunshang looked back and saw Fu Changqing supporting Old Master Fu, surrounded by a group of bodyguards in black.
Old Master Fu walked to Fu Hanzhou with his gold-plated cane.
“Slap!” A slap landed on Fu Hanzhou’s face.
Fu Hanzhou almost fell.
“Aren’t you ashamed enough? What did I tell you yesterday? You’re getting more and more capable, aren’t you? You don’t even listen to me anymore? Changqing, call this boy’s father.”
Fu Hanzhou slumped onto the sofa.
“Also, from now on, remove him from his position at Fu Corporation. Fu Corporation doesn’t need a manager who only thinks about women,” Old Master Fu said, turning to Xiao Nianzhen, “Miss Xiao, I have four words for you: Behave yourself.”
“If you hadn’t misled Hanzhou, I believe he wouldn’t have misunderstood Yunshang.”
Xiao Nianzhen bit her lip tightly, not daring to look up.
“Yunshang, let’s forget about this today for Grandpa’s sake. Also, you’re right not to remarry. Hanzhou doesn’t deserve you.”
Lu Yunshang opened her mouth, wanting to say something but stopped.
“Okay, let’s all go. Yunshang, I heard from Changqing that you’re very good at making perfume and are preparing to participate in our Fu Corporation’s new product bidding meeting. That’s good. Focusing on your work is the right thing to do. Don’t let romance affect you.”
Lu Yunshang nodded.
“Let’s go. Dessen’s farm is opening today. Let’s not be late. Yunshang, go with your friend. Consider this Grandpa’s apology to you on Hanzhou’s behalf. Have a good meal.”
Lu Yunshang was a little at a loss. Liu Jingting quickly pulled Lu Yunshang, “Thank you, Old Master Fu. It’s an honor.”
Fu Changqing walked to Lu Yunshang’s side, “Miss Lu, don’t you have perfume to give me? Get in my car. Can Manager Liu drive alone?”
“Yes, yes,” Liu Jingting nodded repeatedly, pushing Lu Yunshang towards Fu Changqing, “I’ll follow you.”
Lu Yunshang looked back at Fu Hanzhou. He looked like a defeated rooster, dejected.
Su Qiyi took his hand out of his pocket, walked over, and patted Fu Hanzhou on the shoulder, “Miss Xiao is fine. You can discharge her and go home to eat properly.”
Fu Hanzhou remained motionless.
Su Qitai sighed, “Then I’ll go busy. I have to go to your fourth uncle’s manor later. My brother will also be there. See you at the manor. Let’s have a good drink tonight.”
After everyone left, Xiao Nianzhen got out of bed and walked to Fu Hanzhou’s side, holding his hand, looking aggrieved.
“Hanzhou, it’s all my fault. If I hadn’t fainted, none of this would have happened.”
“It’s not your fault. I was too impulsive,” Fu Hanzhou said impatiently.
Xiao Nianzhen’s eyes twinkled, “Then I’ll go to the farm with you. Then I’ll find a chance to apologize to Sister Yunshang. If she doesn’t forgive me, I’ll kneel and beg for her forgiveness.”
Fu Hanzhou stood up abruptly, “Have you forgotten what Grandpa said to you just now? He told you to behave yourself. Grandpa is still angry, do you still want to go to the farm and upset him?”
Xiao Nianzhen pursed her lips and wiped her eyes, “I’m sorry, Hanzhou, I won’t go.”
“Just rest here.”
Fu Hanzhou left after saying that.
Xiao Nianzhen was furious. This time, she was too hasty and hadn’t planned well.
Next time, Lu Yunshang won’t be so lucky.
She won’t let this go.
