Chapter 3: The Space Awakens

When Chu Chenyu arrived, Lin Luoluo had just finished her bath, and Chun Tao was drying her hair.

Chu Chenyu took over the task from Chun Tao, signaling her to leave. After about fifteen minutes, her hair was mostly dry.

“Why did the handsome brother come?” Lin Luoluo asked, looking up at him.

Chu Chenyu didn’t answer and directly had the servants set the table for a meal.

Lin Luoluo looked at the spread of food and began to eat without hesitation, her actions and the way she devoured her food left Chu Chenyu dumbfounded.

“Pretty brother, why aren’t you eating?” Lin Luoluo asked with her mouth full, speaking indistinctly as she noticed he was just staring.

“Take your time; no one is going to snatch it from you.” Chu Chenyu came back to his senses and served her a chicken leg before starting to eat himself.

“Thank you! Pretty brother!”

After finishing the meal and washing up, Chu Chenyu sat by the bed reading.

Seeing that he wasn’t leaving, Lin Luoluo, feeling extremely sleepy, took off her shoes and fell asleep. Before long, even breathing sounds filled the room.

“This girl really sleeps well, not a bit of vigilance,” Chu Chenyu chuckled, shaking his head. He put down his book, took off his outer shirt, lowered the bed curtain, and wrapped his arms around Lin Luoluo, closing his eyes.

At that moment, Lin Luoluo was in a space filled with a hazy white mist. Looking around this basketball court-sized area, she was so excited that she screamed.

“Ah~ it’s actually the space from the novel! I really am the favored daughter of the heavens!”

In the space, there was a patch of black earth, a thatched cottage, and a spring pool the size of a pool table.

Lin Luoluo walked into the thatched cottage, which only had a medicine cabinet, a table, and a bamboo bed. On the table lay a jade slip.

She picked it up to examine it but found nothing special. Suddenly recalling a plot from the novel, she decisively bit her finger.

“Hiss~ that hurts, can’t waste it.” Lin Luoluo smeared all the blood from her finger onto the jade slip, pressed down on the wound, and stared intently at the slip, eager for it to change.

Her expectations were not in vain; soon the jade slip absorbed the blood and transformed into a white light that drilled into her forehead.

After a quarter of an hour, Lin Luoluo digested the contents within. It turned out that this space was left behind by a great immortal cultivator thousands of years ago, drifting through the river of time for an unknown number of years before being sucked into a spatial rift, which was how it ended up hitting Lin Luoluo and bringing her into this small world.

Although it was a bit regrettable that this small world lacked spiritual energy and couldn’t be used for cultivation, there were many martial arts manuals to practice, making self-preservation in this ancient time not a problem, though she needed to upgrade the space to obtain them.

Lin Luoluo eagerly approached the medicine cabinet and found that only the first row of drawers could be opened. The first drawer contained a lightness technique manual called “Floating Shadow Without Trace” and a book titled “Basic Introduction to Medicine.”

The following drawers held cleansing pills, nourishing pills, detoxification pills, and some healing pills and ointments.

Holding the lightness technique manual in her arms, Lin Luoluo imagined herself wearing white and flying in the sky, and the thought made her grin foolishly for a while before snapping back to reality.

Lin Luoluo took out a cleansing pill and swallowed it with the spring water, then sat there waiting for the effect. However, fifteen minutes and then thirty minutes passed with no reaction.

“Could it be expired? Forget it; I can’t wait any longer. If that guy Chu Chenyu finds out, it’ll be bad.” With that, she silently exited the space.

When she opened her eyes and found that Chu Chenyu was still asleep, Lin Luoluo breathed a sigh of relief and closed her eyes again, falling into a deep sleep.

As dawn approached, Chu Chenyu sniffed and was awakened by a foul odor.

The source of the stench was the muddy figure in his arms. He pushed the muddy figure away and gagged. After a moment, suppressing his discomfort, he picked up the muddy figure and headed towards the hot spring in the mansion.

Lin Luoluo woke up feeling uncomfortable as she was pulled by Chu Chenyu.

“Which bastard has no sense of public decency, dragging someone out of bed early in the morning? It’s suffocating!” Lin Luoluo complained, tugging at the collar of her clothing.

A moment later, she sniffed the air.

“Ugh~ it stinks! Who fell into a dung pit?”

“Hey, whoever you are, can you let go and let me walk by myself?”

“That girl who fell into the dung pit, no more pretending, hmm~”

Hearing Chu Chenyu’s cold voice, Lin Luoluo immediately sobered up.

“Um… this… pretty brother, it hurts, can you let go of me? Waaah…” Lin Luoluo started to cry, acting spoiled.

Chu Chenyu ignored her. Shortly afterward, they arrived at the hot spring, and without a hint of pity, he threw Lin Luoluo into the water. She struggled and choked on several mouthfuls before managing to stand firm.

“Get clean,” Chu Chenyu tossed out those three words before leaving.

Seeing him go, Lin Luoluo quickly took off her clothes and eagerly scrubbed the mud off her body. The water became murky, then clear again, and she kept rinsing until the water was completely clear, and no more dirt could be scrubbed off her body before stopping.

Just as Lin Luoluo was pondering whether to put her dirty clothes back on, Chu Chenyu came in, followed by two maids each carrying a pile of clothing. The maids placed the clothes down and then exited.

Chu Chenyu took off his own clothes and walked into the hot spring pool wearing only a pair of shorts.

Lin Luoluo, watching Chu Chenyu approach step by step, hurriedly grabbed a piece of clothing from the shore and draped it over herself.

With each step he took closer, Lin Luoluo stepped back until she could retreat no further. She held her hands in front of her chest and nervously asked,

“What… what do you want to do?”

With a swift motion, Chu Chenyu wrapped one arm around Lin Luoluo’s neck, pressing his body against her back.

“Tell me, who are you really? Who sent you?”

With a forceful grip, Lin Luoluo suddenly found it hard to breathe, her hands desperately clawing at Chu Chenyu’s arm.

“Y-you… let… let go.”

Chu Chenyu gradually tightened his grip, and Lin Luoluo felt increasingly uncomfortable. Just as she thought her little life was about to end there, he relaxed his grip.

With her breathing finally free, Lin Luoluo gasped for air.

“If you don’t want to feel the brink of death again, just be honest,” Chu Chenyu’s alluring yet cold voice rang in her ear.

“Cough cough… cough cough… Whether you believe it or not, I am Lin Luoluo. Lin Luoluo is me; I just regained my senses.” At that moment, Chu Chenyu looked like someone who had emerged from hell, filling her with fear.

Chu Chenyu suddenly flipped her around so that she faced him.

“Let’s begin!”

“Chu Chenyu, you’re just a jerk who knows how to bully me!” With her fists clenched, she pounded on his chest. As she pounded, she ended up lunging forward and biting him fiercely.
