After Hugging the Wrong Boyfriend – ♡ Chapter 13.2 ♡

♡ Chapter 13.2 ♡

He had gone to Beijing on a business trip, yet he traveled all the way here to find her!

Yu Xia was overwhelmed by a wave of surprise. Her mind went blank, and her heart raced wildly.

Lu Yanzhou calmly pulled out a chair next to him and sat down, looking at her with a smile in his eyes, his lips softly uttering two words: “Waiting for you.”

“Wow…” The other readers immediately became excited. “Ms. Sanxia, is this your boyfriend?”

Yu Xia’s face turned bright red, struggling to suppress the smile tugging at her lips. She turned back, and took a deep breath, but her heart still wouldn’t calm down. She looked at the group of readers, who were practically starstruck, unsure how to respond. Embarrassed, she smiled at them. “Ah… guess.”

“Definitely!”

“Absolutely!”

The readers whispered among themselves as Yu Xia smiled without speaking, quickly signing books, her face almost showing how ready she was to leave. Ten minutes later, she sent off the last reader and wrapped up the book signing event.

She couldn’t wait to stand up and walk toward Lu Yanzhou.

Lu Yanzhou rose gracefully, a smile curling at the corners of his mouth. “Can we leave now?”

Yu Xia could no longer hide her smile. She raised her chin and beamed at him. “How did you get here?”

Lu Yanzhou was candid. “I came to see you.”

“Why didn’t you tell me…”

“Then it wouldn’t be a surprise.”

Yu Xia felt like her heart might explode, her pulse racing out of control. She took a deep breath, but it didn’t help.

She took another deep breath, still no use.

There was an overwhelming urge in her chest; she really, really wanted to rush over and hug him.

“Cough, should I leave now?” The editor-in-chief pulled her back, timely bringing her back to her senses.

Yu Xia glanced at her, then turned to look at Lu Yanzhou.

Lu Yanzhou said, “Let’s have a meal together. Thanks for leading me here.”

Since it was peak hour, taking a cab back was unwise, so the three of them found a nice restaurant nearby. Since Lu Yanzhou’s appearance felt somewhat surreal to Yu Xia, she spoke less than usual.

After ordering, she turned to look at the man beside her, finally feeling some reality sink in. She thought for a moment and quietly asked, “Are you staying the night?”

“Otherwise?” Lu Yanzhou asked in return. “Do you want me to go back?”

“…” Yu Xia quickly shook her head. “I mean, did you book a hotel?”

Lu Yanzhou chuckled. “Yes, at the same place as you.”

Yu Xia froze for a moment, glancing at the editor-in-chief, who had been trying hard to lower her presence, avoiding being a third wheel. The editor-in-chief coughed and said, “He asked me earlier, so I told him.”

Yu Xia looked back at Lu Yanzhou, remembering the perfume she had placed in the hotel. She couldn’t wait to give it to him, marking the moment when he would officially become her boyfriend.

She looked at him. “Let’s head back after dinner.”

After the meal, the three of them took a taxi.

The editor-in-chief took the front seat while Lu Yanzhou and Yu Xia sat in the back. The man was tall, with long legs, and had to spread them wide, with his knees almost touching hers.

Yu Xia’s hand had gotten a bit sore from signing so many books. She unconsciously rubbed her wrist.

Lu Yanzhou noticed and asked quietly, “Is your hand sore?”

Yu Xia nodded. “A little.”

Lu Yanzhou fell silent for two seconds before taking her hand and bringing it closer to him. Yu Xia’s heart skipped a beat, and she turned to look at him. He leaned lazily against the back of the seat, his gaze lowered to her hand. His palm was large, with clean, long fingers, and he gently rubbed her wrist with a firm but careful touch.

Yu Xia bit her lip, sneaking glances at him.

Neither of them said a word, but their hands stayed intertwined the entire ride.

The editor-in-chief, puzzled at the silence between them, couldn’t help but glance back as they neared the hotel. She noticed that Lu Yanzhou was holding Yu Xia’s hand, playfully squeezing her fingers.

“…”

No wonder! She quickly turned away.

It wasn’t until they arrived at the hotel that Lu Yanzhou let go of her hand.

In the hotel lobby, Lu Yanzhou went to check in, and Yu Xia lightly tugged at his hand. He turned around, and she tilted her head up, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him. “I’ll head upstairs first. You can tell me the room number later, and I’ll come find you.” She paused and added, “I have a gift for you.”

Lu Yanzhou already had an idea of what the gift was. He raised an eyebrow. “Okay.”

As soon as Yu Xia swiped her card to enter the room, she received a message from him.

L: [1202]

The editor-in-chief had already gone upstairs first. She thought Yu Xia wouldn’t be back, but when she saw her walk in, she was surprised. “How come you’re back?”

“I came back to get the perfume.”

“Aren’t you staying the night?”

“Huh?” Yu Xia paused, then realized that sharing a room so soon might not be appropriate. She hadn’t expected things to progress this quickly. “I… I think I’ll head back after all.”

The editor-in-chief asked, “It’s moving so fast, and you’re still pure?”

“…” Yu Xia quickly replied, “I’ll be back in a bit.”

She grabbed the perfume box from the table, stuffed it into her bag, and left.

After taking the elevator upstairs, she arrived at room 1202, only to find the door slightly ajar. Lu Yanzhou was standing by the window with his back to her, talking on the phone.

She walked in quietly.

Lu Yanzhou heard the footsteps and turned to look. He didn’t expect her to arrive so quickly. While walking past, he spoke on the phone, “Let’s do this for now. I have something else to attend to. I’ll hang up.”

Yu Xia stood in front of him, watching him end the call, but she hadn’t figured out what to say yet. Lu Yanzhou placed his phone on the TV cabinet and looked at her steadily. “Where’s the gift? Didn’t you say you were going to give me a gift?”

“…”

She blushed, took a deep breath, reached into her bag, and pulled out a box of perfume, handing it to him. She then looked up at him. “It’s for my boyfriend.”

Lu Yanzhou chuckled softly, took the box, gave it a quick glance, and placed it on the table. He turned and walked toward the door. Yu Xia was confused and followed his movements with her eyes.

Click.

Lu Yanzhou closed the door and walked toward her step by step. He lowered his head and gazed deeply into her eyes. “Shouldn’t your boyfriend, who came all the way to find you, get a hug from you? Just like the first time?”

Yu Xia froze for a second before she couldn’t help but laugh and throw herself into his arms.

Even more forcefully than the first time.

She tilted her face up, her cheeks flushed, and her eyes bright and clear. “Is this enough?”

Lu Yanzhou lowered his gaze, his eyes fixed on her face. His gaze lingered on her soft lips, his voice low and hoarse. “Not enough.”

In the next second, Yu Xia’s vision went dark. The man pulled her into a tight embrace, forcing her to rise onto her tiptoes. He cupped her face with one hand and kissed her lips.

Yu Xia’s mind went blank. She trembled as if electrified, her fingers instinctively gripping his shirt. Lu Yanzhou turned and gently leaned her back against the edge of the table. His hand slid to her waist, taking hers and placing it on his chest. He lowered his head to lightly bite her lower lip.

Yu Xia let out a soft moan and instinctively parted her lips, and he kissed her even deeper.
