Volume 1 Chapter 13 Because Someone Hit Him
Shi Jianchuan approached Wan Li, not even knowing what he intended to do.
It was just instinct—he acted without thinking.
Wan Li’s demeanor in private was completely different from how he behaved in front of Qin Ya.
He wasn’t aloof at all. In fact, he was entangled in ambiguous relationships with several girls around him.
Then, that night, while upstairs, Shi Jianchuan overheard Wan Li boasting in the hallway.
“So what if she’s the Qin Family’s Eldest Daughter? I still got her to agree to meet. Wait for my good news tonight.”
“Wow~ Brother Wan, you’ve got quite the luck. Well then, we’ll wish you a wonderful night in advance.”
The malice Shi Jianchuan had been suppressing surged out in an instant. He threw down what he was holding and chased after Wan Li.
By the time he reached the ground floor, Wan Li had already driven off.
Panicked, he frantically called Qin Ya’s phone.
She didn’t answer. He called several times, but she still didn’t pick up.
The mind tends to blur excessively painful memories. He couldn’t recall how he ended up searching the entire city for Qin Ya and Wan Li.
He went to every hotel he could think of, checking them one by one.
Later, he spotted Wan Li, his face flushed from drinking, bragging about something to the people around him.
Shi Jianchuan heard Qin Ya’s name.
His illness flared up. Like a madman, he lunged forward and began beating Wan Li relentlessly.
Blood stained his vision.
*Kill him.*
Qin Ya was *his.*
No one could take her away.
Screams filled his ears, chaotic voices shouting his name.
He didn’t stop. His mind was fixated on one goal.
But amid the clamor, he heard Qin Ya’s voice.
“Shi Jianchuan?”
Qin Ya walked over from the other side, her eyes filled with shock.
For a brief moment, clarity returned to Shi Jianchuan’s mind—but only for a second. Then, he raised his fist again.
Qin Ya grabbed his arm. “Shi Jianchuan! Have you lost your mind? Let go!”
Seeing Qin Ya, his thoughts spiraled: *She’s mine. My treasure. No one else can touch her.*
He had to take her back. Hide her away.
He gripped Qin Ya’s hand tightly and pulled her away.
With no destination in mind, he didn’t know where to hide his treasure.
He didn’t seem to have a home, but his treasure deserved to live in a *gold and silver den.*
Qin Ya yanked her hand free. “Shi Jianchuan! You’re insane!”
Her eyes were full of disbelief. “In front of so many people—what were you doing? Were you trying to kill someone? What were you thinking?”
In the throes of his illness, Shi Jianchuan couldn’t process her words. He just wanted to seize his treasure.
Qin Ya took a step back, avoiding his grasp, her gaze wary. “You’re out of control. Right now, you’re coming with me to apologize to Wan Li—and to deal with the surveillance footage.”
Her retreat instantly enraged Shi Jianchuan.
Eyes bloodshot, he scooped Qin Ya into his arms and pinned her against the nearby wall.
His hands gripped her waist as he pressed into her, capturing her lips in a fierce kiss.
The intoxicating taste of her made him lose himself all over again.
He even tore at her clothes.
Qin Ya stomped hard on his foot, broke free from his hold, and slapped him across the face.
In his memory, Qin Ya’s eyes and lips were red.
Even the slap she gave him carried a hint of fragrance.
Qin Ya glared at him before running off.
Shi Jianchuan touched the corner of his mouth, then lowered his head and chuckled.
*Still… I don’t want to let go.*
He couldn’t live without Qin Ya.
It took every ounce of his self-control not to chase after her and drag her back.
“Baby, you run so slow, he could catch up in just a few seconds.”
*
Shi Jianchuan blurred the cause and effect, pinning everything on Wan Li.
Qin Ya flatly denied it, “How could I ever hit you for his sake, baby?”
“You’re the one I love most. You have no idea how much I adore you.”
“I’m not blind—why would I give you up for some short stump? Standing next to you, he’d be completely obliterated, okay?”
“Feel my clothes—aren’t they just the right fabric to be your wife?”
Qin Ya squeezed herself next to Shi Jianchuan, acting sweet and coy.
Her voice was sugary sweet.
Her doe-like eyes blinked several times.
“Honey, forget it, forget it. You must have remembered wrong.”
She reached out and covered Shi Jianchuan’s eyelids.
“What you just said was just a nightmare you had—none of it was real. Ya-Ya loves you the most, loves you to death.”
“Once the nightmare’s over, it’ll be fine.”
“Those things can’t possibly be true.”
She leaned so close to Shi Jianchuan that his every breath was filled with her scent.
A mix of roses and lilies of the valley—rich but not overpowering.
Her smooth, delicate hand rested over his eyelids.
Even if she slapped him, it would feel thrilling.
His Adam’s apple bobbed slightly as he closed his eyes, hiding all emotion beneath.
It took every ounce of his strength to restrain the wild desires within.
Those desires surged endlessly in his heart, yet were ruthlessly confined to a narrow space.
No one knew what would happen if they were ever unleashed.
“Take your hand away.”
Shi Jianchuan’s voice was slightly hoarse.
Qin Ya awkwardly withdrew her hand.
As it brushed past his lips, she accidentally grazed them, sending a burning sensation from her fingers straight to her heart.
Before Shi Jianchuan could react, she took a big step back. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to.”
“But your lips are so soft… and wet.”
The texture felt different from her own.
Her palm still seemed to carry a trace of moisture—as if he had licked it.
What was she thinking? Shi Jianchuan wasn’t a pervert like her.
Shi Jianchuan crossed his right leg over his left and said coldly, “If this is what you do ‘unintentionally,’ what would you do if you meant it?”
Qin Ya’s mind flashed to the dream she’d had that night.
The young man tied to her bed.
Qin Ya chuckled nervously. “Aren’t we married?”
Shi Jianchuan replied, “Do I need to remind you again?”
His raven-feather lashes veiled his expression as he looked her up and down. “Your credibility with me is already in the negatives.”
Qin Ya raised three fingers. “Don’t worry, I won’t force myself on you like before. I’m a good person now—I love you for who you are, not just your body.”
“Is that so?” Shi Jianchuan tugged at his tie and undid the top button of his shirt.
Qin Ya’s eyes were practically glued to it, unmoving.
Her gaze brightened a shade.
“Wipe the drool off your mouth.”
Qin Ya reached up but found no drool, snapping back to reality.
Shi Jianchuan’s lips curled slightly. “And you want me to believe you?”
Qin Ya’s voice was weak. “This was an accident.”
“I’ve been starving for too long. If you show a feast to someone who’s hungry, of course they’ll crave it. But once they’re full, even the most delicious food won’t tempt them.”
“Really, trust me.”
Qin Ya looked at him expectantly. “So, are you going to try it? Next time, I’ll definitely resist the temptation.”
Shi Jianchuan scoffed. “Get out.”
Qin Ya’s invisible ears seemed to droop. “Fine. Don’t forget to eat lunch.”
