After Losing My Memory, My Sick Husband Tempts Me to Become Addicted Chapter 7

Volume 1 Chapter 7: Drop-dead Gorgeous

She reached out and blocked Shi Jianchuan’s path.

Like an Overlord Woman.

Shi Jianchuan simply looked at her. Through the photo, it was impossible to tell what he was thinking at that moment.

But Qin Ya’s sharp eyes noticed the veins bulging on his clenched fist.

Qin Ya:

She really was inhuman, truly.

After all these years, the fact that Shi Jianchuan hadn’t killed her was already an act of mercy.

That he was even willing to pay her medical bills—he really was a saint.

She said weakly, “Your President Shi… he’s so kind.”

Tan Xiu fell silent again.

After wilting for two seconds, Qin Ya perked back up. “How exactly did I marry Shi Jianchuan? Did I really force him?”

Tan Xiu didn’t answer, which Qin Ya took as confirmation.

Qin Ya completely gave up.

No wonder Shi Jianchuan treated her so coldly. If it were her being forced into marriage, she’d have turned the world upside down in protest.

By comparison, despite all she’d done, Shi Jianchuan merely ignored her and hadn’t even kicked her out of Qin Corporation. That was already a blessing.

Did Shi Jianchuan really not hate her at all? Was he secretly plotting something?

With the little brainpower she had left, even if Shi Jianchuan took over the entire Qin family, she wouldn’t be able to do a thing about it.

Qin Corporation was practically in his hands, and she had zero memory of the company.

Her college major had been oil painting—not a single thing to do with finance.

How could she possibly outmaneuver Shi Jianchuan?

A chaotic mess of thoughts swirled in Qin Ya’s mind.

Then…

Whatever. The corpse was still warm—time to log off.

Tan Xiu spoke up at the right moment. “President Qin, we’ve arrived.”

Qin Ya looked up at the massive villa in front of her.

“This is my and Shi Jianchuan’s Marriage Villa? It’s this big?”

“You and President Shi have lived here since your marriage.”

“Your information is registered at the entrance. You can enter with facial recognition.”

Tan Xiu added, “The housekeeper comes twice a day to prepare lunch and dinner. The cleaning service comes once a week.”

“Is there anything else you’d like to know?”

Qin Ya shook her head. “No, thank you. Would you like to come in?”

“No need. President Shi still has some matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave.”

Qin Ya waved at him before stepping into the unfamiliar, oversized villa.

Once the facial recognition cleared, the door automatically opened, and a cheerful voice greeted her from inside. “Welcome home, Master!”

The villa was enormous—the first floor housed the dining and living rooms, the second was a recreation and fitness area, and the third was where they lived.

Qin Ya tried to find traces of her and Shi Jianchuan’s life together. The villa felt a little cold, but there were signs of habitation.

Fluffy slippers, freshly washed and sun-warmed. Half-used skincare products.

Clothes drying on the balcony. Oddly shaped throw pillows on the sofa.

They were probably all her things. Aside from basic necessities and the clothes in the walk-in closet, Shi Jianchuan had left nothing else behind.

Hugging a pillow, Qin Ya knocked on her head.

No matter how hard she tried, her mind remained frustratingly blank.

Shi Jianchuan actually dared to abandon his gorgeous wife in this dump.

One day, he’d regret it.

Rummaging through the rooms, Qin Ya found a brand-new set of painting supplies.

The moment she held them, an inexplicable urge surged through her.

She couldn’t remember anything, but the moment those items were in her hands, she instinctively knew how to use them.

After securing the drawing board, Qin Ya stood on the second-floor balcony and made her first stroke.

Time flew when she was immersed in something, so fast that she didn’t even notice the sky had darkened.

The housekeeper came by twice during that time, preparing meals that smelled delicious. Qin Ya didn’t have time to savor them, eating hurriedly before diving back into her colorful world.

As dusk fell, a brilliant sunset painted the horizon, making the light in Qin Ya’s eyes even more striking.

So beautiful.

She didn’t turn on the lights, simply admiring the night as she watched the sunset slowly sink into the sea and disappear before her eyes.

A black car appeared on the distant road, barely visible but clearly heading in this direction.

Was Shi Jianchuan back?

Qin Ya propped her chin on her hand, watching from the second floor.

With the lights off, her position was shrouded in darkness, invisible from outside, while the streetlights illuminated the villa’s entrance clearly.

The car stopped downstairs and remained motionless for a long time.

Puzzled, Qin Ya strained her eyes to see.

A single ember glowed vividly in the darkness.

She finally saw inside the car.

Shi Jianchuan had rolled up his sleeves, revealing his wrist and the distinct bones of his hand.

Between his slender, jade-like fingers rested a burning cigarette.

That ember had come from here.

The swirling smoke blurred his features, making them indistinct—like a snow lotus atop a mountain or a deity descended from the heavens.

The moment Qin Ya looked over, he also raised his head, his gaze landing on the balcony.

That glance seemed casual, yet laden with countless unspoken words.

Qin Ya’s heart skipped a beat.

He really was… devastatingly handsome. No wonder the old her had been so utterly bewitched.

She’d even dared to do something as bold as abducting a man!

But if that man was Shi Jianchuan, then everything made sense.

Qin Ya dashed downstairs, calling out from afar, “Honey, you’re back from work! You must be tired, right? Hungry?”

“Have you eaten yet?”

Eager to showcase her virtues, the diligent little bee Qin Ya rushed to Shi Jianchuan’s side, wanting to carry his bag—only to realize he hadn’t brought one.

She then tried to hang his coat but couldn’t find the right spot.

Shi Jianchuan took it and hung it by the entrance himself.

After running around aimlessly, Qin Ya blinked, at a loss. “Have you eaten? The housekeeper left food in the fridge. I’ll heat it up for you.”

Shi Jianchuan watched her retreating figure, his gaze deep and unreadable.

His intense eyes trailed over every inch of her exposed skin.

Oblivious, Qin Ya flitted into the kitchen like a happy little bird—only to freeze in confusion.

On TV, people used microwaves to heat food. The problem was—which one was the microwave?

Several small cabinets resembling the ones on TV were lined up in the kitchen.

They all looked somewhat like microwaves.

Should she just try them one by one? Qin Ya wasted no time, opening one cabinet and preparing to shove the housekeeper’s leftovers inside.

A hand reached from behind her, taking the food from her grasp.

A low voice murmured by her ear, “This is an oven.”

“Ah? Then I—”

With a slight shift, Qin Ya found herself practically nestled in Shi Jianchuan’s embrace.

Shi Jianchuan’s presence enveloped her completely, accompanied by a pleasant fragrance lingering in the air.

He was a head taller than Qin Ya, and from this angle, she only needed to tilt her head slightly to see the faint prominence of his Adam’s apple.
