From a distance, Qiu Yi spotted Lin Chuanwu’s figure. Upon closer inspection, he realized Lin Chuanwu was carrying Wen Yan. The Alpha held Wen Yan like a child, with one arm supporting Wen Yan’s bottom and the other hand pressing down on Wen Yan’s head. Wen Yan was obediently nestled in his arms, not moving at all, though it was unclear why he was wearing Lin Chuanwu’s coat.

Standing by the car door, Lin Chuanwu gestured for Qiu Yi to open it. Lin Chuanwu placed Wen Yan in the passenger seat and then fished the car keys out of Wen Yan’s pocket.

“You and Qiu Tian, take Liu Ning and drive his car.”

“Got it.”

After Qiu Tian and Qiu Yi left with Liu Ning, Wen Yan finally opened his eyes, the redness at the corners still visible. He lowered his head, suddenly feeling a breeze, and noticed a large hole in the car window.

“Qiu Yi has already found the homes of those two kids. Tell them it will cost a hundred thousand to replace the window,” Lin Chuanwu said coldly as he started the car. “They seem to be mountain folks. I wonder if they can gather that much money. If not, I’ll send them to jail.”

“I told them to do it. I’ll pay you back…” Wen Yan pleaded softly.

Lin Chuanwu remained silent, his face stern.

Back in Beijing City, Lin Chuanwu received a call and left with Liu Ning. In the following days, Lin Chuanwu was constantly busy. During his work breaks, Wen Yan saw news of Liu Ning being arrested by the police. The money Liu Ning had transferred was indeed not recovered, just as Liu Feng had said.

Then Wen Yan saw news of Lin Corporation deciding to acquire Mingyang Company. With Mingyang’s assets in deficit, Lin Corporation’s acquisition wasn’t a bad thing for them.

After working until seven in the evening, Liu Ren and Chang Jing planned to go to a bar and asked if Wen Yan wanted to join. Wen Yan shook his head.

Driving back to the Alpha’s residence, Wen Yan first watched the lions at the hunting ground for a while. The lions paced back and forth, occasionally roaring, appearing somewhat agitated.

Entering the living room, he saw food laid out on the dining table, but no one was around. The Alpha hadn’t returned from work yet, and Wen Yan felt a slight relief. Lin Chuanwu had been very busy these days, working late into the night. If it weren’t for the bite marks on him the next morning, Wen Yan would have thought he hadn’t come back at all.

Lin Xiangyi approached him with a drink in hand. “Xiao Qing, you look really beautiful today. But my son is too busy, so he couldn’t attend your birthday party. I’ll make sure he makes it up to you with a gift.”

“I meant for you to marry Lin Qing, not a Beta!”

“Fine, even if you don’t want to marry Lin Qing, you should find an Omega that matches you, not a Beta!”

Lin Chuanwu stared at him, enunciating each word, “I don’t care for Omegas. I want to marry him.”

“I’m warning you, if you dare to go find him, say something nasty, or hurt him, I won’t let you off.”

“You’ve grown bold. I’m going to see your grandfather right now!” Lin Xiangyi clutched his chest.

Unable to swallow his anger, Lin Xiangyi immediately went to find Lin Laoyezi, determined to lodge a strong complaint against Lin Chuanwu.

Lin Laoyezi was living in a sanatorium and was playing chess with someone when Lin Xiangyi arrived.

“Dad, you still have the mind to play chess?! Your grandson is turning the world upside down!”

Lin Laoyezi frowned, “If you have something to say, say it. If not, leave.”

Lin Xiangyi took a deep breath, “Lin Chuanwu, that brat, secretly got married to a Beta!”

“Really?!”

“Absolutely!”

“That’s wonderful! Have him bring the person over for me to meet,” Lin Laoyezi beamed with joy.

“No, Dad, he secretly got married, and to a Beta. Why are you happy about that?”

Knowing he was in the wrong, Lin Xiangyi remained silent, his face dark.

“Perfect timing, my seventieth birthday is coming up. Have Chuanwu bring the person over so I can have a good look.”

“Since Chuanwu is willing to marry him, he must truly like him. That’s good, very good.”

Lin Laoyezi’s eyes crinkled with a smile, ignoring Lin Xiangyi as he continued his chess game.
