After Mistaking His True Love An 80s Commanders Hopeless Pursuit of His Wife Chapter 5

Chapter 5: A bunch of unlucky people

With the system’s help, Jian Sining witnessed Anya being disliked so much by the Lu family that they directly sent her back to the Jian household.

At the Jian home.

Father and Mother Jian were busy preparing for the old lady’s funeral. Originally, the room was full of people wailing and crying for the ritual, but the moment Anya walked in, it was like a biochemical weapon had arrived. Everyone was instantly “nauseated.”

“Dad, Mom, even you’re disgusted with me… sob sob… I’m going to find Brother Shizhou!” Devastated, Anya turned and ran out.

Mother Jian rushed out to chase her, only to be hit by a bicycle and fall into a drainage ditch.

The stone slab over the ditch cracked under her foot, and one leg got tightly wedged between the stones.

Father Jian rushed over to help but was so clumsy he almost ruined her leg. After a long struggle, he still couldn’t get her out.

Seeing her calf swollen and turning purple, he had no choice but to fetch a hammer and nail, trying to break apart the stone trapping her leg.

Bang! With one hit, two cries of pain rang out.

Mother Jian had a large chunk of skin torn from her leg, and Father Jian not only slammed his thumb with the hammer, but also somehow got something lodged in his eye. His eye burned sharply, and the foreign body sensation made him cry out and clamp his eyes shut in pain.

Other relatives finally arrived and rescued them both, rushing them to the nearby military hospital.

And as luck would have it, another key character Huo Shizhou was already there.

Inside the emergency wound treatment room, Huo Shizhou’s foot and hand were wrapped in gauze.

Mother Jian had twelve stitches in her leg, now also wrapped in gauze.

Father Jian had a huge blood blister on his thumb and a severely bloodshot eye, which needed further treatment.

The three of them stared at each other, slowly realizing how oddly coincidental everything was when Anya suddenly arrived.

“Dad, Mom, Brother Shizhou, you’re all injured? Don’t worry, Anya is here to take care of you!”

As soon as she opened her mouth, the stench from her breath nearly knocked Father Jian out. He swayed, toppling a tray of medical instruments beside him.

When he fell on his backside, he just had to land directly on a needle, yelping in pain and jumping up. In his panic, he stomped down right on Huo Shizhou’s injured foot.

“Hiss, AHH!” Blood instantly seeped through the gauze on Huo Shizhou’s foot, staining it red.

“Brother Shizhou, are you okay?” Anya hurriedly leaned in to show concern, but she had underestimated the power of her own breath. Though Huo Shizhou tried his best to ignore it, his brows furrowed, and he instinctively moved to the side.

That slight movement knocked over a doctor’s uncovered thermal cup. Most of the hot water spilled straight onto Mother Jian’s injured leg. She forgot about the freshly stitched wound and jumped in pain.

The stitches split open again, and this time came with a dozen new blisters…

“Ahahahaha… Grandma, I’m sorry… I really couldn’t help it anymore.” Jian Sining, who had started out full of righteous anger, was now laughing so hard she couldn’t straighten her back.

[Host, how’s that? Pretty effective item, huh? As long as you stay inside the confinement room, their bad luck will continue all the way until the end of the week. If you still feel unsatisfied, the Crow’s Mouth can be used two more times.]

Thinking of what the system had said earlier, Jian Sining asked curiously, “You said Anya is the female lead? But she’s not a good person. Can bad people be protagonists?”

[According to the original plot, Anya is the saintly heroine of an old-fashioned novel a hypocritical and foolish Cinderella type. While her “good deeds” indirectly caused a lot of harm, she wasn’t inherently bad. But the problem is… she awakened her self-awareness.]

“She awakened?”

[That’s right. In this little world, she’s the first one to become self-aware. According to the original script, you the beautiful, smart, but “evil” second female lead would become jealous of Anya, frame and slander her, prevent her from getting pregnant, and eventually get thrown into prison by both the male lead and second male lead.]

But after Jian Sining transmigrated, she didn’t follow the original plot to do evil, and Huo Shizhou gradually shifted his attention from Anya to her.

The two of them slowly developed feelings for each other after marriage but Anya wasn’t having it.

Once she realized she was the protagonist, how could she tolerate her backup male lead giving up on her and choosing the “vicious supporting female lead” instead?

[So she switched from being passive to active, turning the tables to frame you making Huo Shizhou resent you, so the plot could return to its original course.]

“No wonder in the last life, Anya deliberately staged herself falling into the river and falsely accused me of pushing her, which supposedly caused her to lose the ability to have children.”

[Host, it was your unwillingness to accept that fate that restarted this little world. From the moment you were reborn, it meant that this world was no longer under the control of the original plot it has become a brand new world.]

“No matter what kind of world it is, everything is real to me. I want to attend my grandma’s funeral tomorrow do you have any way to let me…”

[No need to wait for tomorrow someone’s coming.] Just before the confinement room door opened, the system extinguished the light on its tail, returning the room to darkness.

Orderly Xiao Zhao entered with a flashlight. Feeling a bit apologetic, he spoke gently on behalf of his commander:

“Comrade Jian, the commander is just stubborn on the outside but soft-hearted. He was just embarrassed that you contradicted him in public, so he wanted to put on a show to make you back down. But now he’s letting me release you.”

“Comrade Xiao Zhao, there’s nothing more to say. I’m no longer interested in what kind of person your commander is. I just want to go keep vigil for my grandma tonight.”

Xiao Zhao opened his mouth, watching Jian Sining’s cold back walk away. He quickly called out: “The commander was injured and is in the hospital. Can you go see him?”

“No time. You can let Anya know…” Jian Sining didn’t even look back.

Although she had only been married for just over a month in this life, she had already endured plenty of cold treatment from Huo Shizhou.

On their wedding night, they didn’t even consummate the marriage Anya had a sudden heart episode, and Huo Shizhou abandoned her to stay at the hospital with Lu Ye and Anya all night.

Then for the entire following week, after every training session, he went straight to the hospital and rarely returned to the residential compound.

He had probably already forgotten about his wife entirely.

In her past life, although Jian Sining resented Huo Shizhou’s actions, more than that, she was grateful that he had saved her during the wedding.

She knew Anya was Huo Shizhou’s childhood sweetheart they had grown up together, so it was understandable that their bond ran deep.

Anya had suffered greatly since childhood, constantly abused by her violent father. Huo Shizhou also faced harsh discipline from his own father as a child. In a way, their shared pain made them especially close.

When Anya was twelve, she missed the chance to save her own mother because she rushed into a burning building to rescue her aunt Jian Sining’s mother and ended up with a chronic heart condition.

Jian’s mother was deeply moved and took Anya in, but the adoption paperwork was complicated and couldn’t be completed quickly.

To ensure Anya could go to school in Jiangcheng smoothly, they simply sent their biological daughter, Jian Sining, to live with her grandmother who just happened to live in the same town as Anya’s original home.

So Anya took Jian Sining’s identity and went to school in Jiangcheng. Since the two girls were only a year apart in age, and Jian’s mother was a teacher at the school, it wasn’t hard to make the switch.

Meanwhile, Jian Sining was sent to live with her grandmother in the rural town, where she met Huo Shizhou before he joined the army.

At the same time, Anya met Lu Ye in Jiangcheng, Jian Sining’s childhood friend.

Looking back on the tangled fate between them all, Jian Sining only felt a deep chill in her heart.

This time, she was going to walk away.
