After My Husband Died I Started Mooching Off My Son Chapter 21

Chapter 21: Death Warrior

Wei Xiaojia had already gone to queue up, bringing his own lunchbox as Hu Shuo had reminded him.

Mountain King ran back to get its bowl. It didn’t need to queue; as the main actor, it had preferential treatment.

The crew had specially cooked half a chicken for it as an extra nutritious meal.

In addition, there were two ounces of rice, five steamed buns, and some boiled vegetables.

The crew had previously confirmed Mountain King’s meals with Wei Xiaojia, preparing everything according to what Wei Xiaojia had said. The portions were generous, with a good mix of meat and vegetables.

After running all morning, Mountain King ate ravenously; it was truly hungry.

Mom, the food is here.

His short legs moved quickly, wobbling and stumbling on the uneven ground. Onlookers watched with concern, uncontrollably wanting to go up and help.

The mother, however, was very calm, waiting in place with a smile: What delicious things are there?

There’s meat, stewed vermicelli, I got Mom a steamed bun, half a bowl of rice, but there’s no soup, Mom can only drink milk. I’ll get you more after you finish drinking it. Uncle Stage Manager said there’s hot water.

Okay, I’ll listen to my son, thank you, baby.

Wei Xiaojia, his little face flushed, served Zhuo Le well before sitting cross-legged on the mat to eat.

The little guy wasn’t picky and ate everything, his cheeks stuffed full, without spilling any rice. He was especially cute and gained another wave of auntie fans.

After lunch, as actors, there was no rest time. Wei Xiaojia, as a family member, could rest, lying on the mat, half-asleep.

Zhuo Le fanned him, and the little guy fell asleep in a while, his little belly sticking out, even snoring softly.

After sleeping for an hour, he vaguely got up, saying he needed to pee.

Zhuo Le patted his little butt: Don’t go too far, knock on the bushes first.

I know, Mom.

The little guy was still drowsy, staggering, his eyes not even open.

Zhuo Le smiled and stretched, waiting for three minutes before her expression suddenly changed.

Mountain King.

Woof…

Mountain King, who was filming, roared angrily, rushing out with ferocity.

The staff on site were dumbfounded.

Quick, go and see what’s wrong. Hu Shuo called out to the young, strong, and nimble staff.

A group of people chased after the direction Mountain King left.

Zhuo Le had already left ahead of them. Although she wasn’t as fast as Mountain King, she wasn’t much slower.

Ahead, two men carrying the unconscious Wei Xiaojia gritted their teeth.

Damn, this dead dog, you stay here, I’ll go first. The man carrying Wei Xiaojia said.

The other man didn’t speak, stopping directly, revealing the knife in his hand, his eyes fierce, staring at Mountain King.

Mountain King’s dichromatic eyes flashed with a dark light, baring its fangs, ready to fight.

Mountain King, hand him over to me, you continue to chase.

Woof.

Mountain King responded, feinting a move, leaving from the man’s side.

The man gritted his teeth and turned to chase.

Zhuo Le kicked up a stone at her feet, hitting the man’s popliteal fossa.

Ugh…

The man cried out in pain and fell, turning back, his eyes full of ferocity: You’re asking for death.

He jumped up, twirling the dagger in his hand, heading straight for Zhuo Le’s neck.

Zhuo Le calmly dodged, and her five fingers formed a fist, striking the man’s wrist.

The man instantly felt numb all over, the dagger fell, and before he could recover, Zhuo Le punched him in the side of the neck. He instantly felt his mind go blank, his body unresponsive, and he fell straight to the ground.

Whoa… The staff who followed stopped in fright.

Comrade Zhuo, who is he?

Zhuo Le said in a deep voice: I don’t know, please help me tie him up, and then hand him over to the public security.

Okay, okay, okay.

A group of people responded. Just as they were about to step forward, the man suddenly foamed at the mouth, his limbs convulsing. Before Zhuo Le could step forward, he died.

Everyone’s scalp tingled: “Dead, dead?”

Zhuo Le checked his pulse and he was indeed dead: “Poisoned. Everyone, don’t touch him. Report to the public security directly, cordon off this area, and don’t let anyone near.”

It was a death warrior. Wei Xiaojia was in danger.

Zhuo Le’s heart sank. Not daring to delay, she continued to chase.

The crowd looked at each other. One person went to call for help, while the others warily surrounded the area.

Ahead, Mountain King was chasing relentlessly, the man carrying Wei Xiaojia had a gloomy expression.

“I originally wanted to keep him for a couple of days, but you beast don’t know what’s good for you. I have no choice but to kill him directly.”

His rough hand landed on Wei Xiaojia’s slender neck. With just a little force, the neck would be easily snapped.

“Woof…”

Mountain King sensed the man’s killing intent. Its dichromatic eyes stood on end, issuing a warning. Its hind legs pushed off the ground, and it actually leaped into the air, its bared fangs flashing with a cold light, heading straight for the man.

The man was shocked. The hand holding Wei Xiaojia’s neck quickly changed direction, swinging towards Mountain King.

“Pfft…”

The sound of teeth piercing flesh and bone.

“Ah…” The man screamed, flailing his arm, trying to throw off Mountain King, who was biting him.

Mountain King bit the man tightly, its front legs pressing down, landing steadily on the ground, shaking its head wildly.

The tearing pain made the man’s screams more and more tragic.

However, his other hand was still tightly gripping Wei Xiaojia, refusing to let go.

Wei Xiaojia was being swung up and down in his hand like a rag doll, his small body cut and bruised by branches and weeds.

Mountain King went berserk, using force in its jaw, and with a sudden jerk, the man’s entire hand and half of his arm were torn off, along with the bone and flesh.

“Ah… ah…” The man roared in pain.

Mountain King disgustedly spat out the severed arm, staring intently at the man.

Zhuo Le arrived, seeing Wei Xiaojia covered in injuries, a coldness flashed in her eyes.

“Put the child down, and you can leave.”

The man panted heavily, his eyes bloodshot, smiling sinisterly: “I’m not leaving. I want this little brat to be buried with me.”

Saying that, he swung Wei Xiaojia up and smashed him against the nearby tree trunk.

Zhuo Le and Mountain King acted at the same time.

Mountain King leaped forward, exposing its soft belly to catch Wei Xiaojia.

Zhuo Le casually tore off a thorny vine from the side and whipped it on the man’s intact hand.

The man’s arm went numb, and he had no choice but to release Wei Xiaojia.

Wei Xiaojia crashed into Mountain King’s soft belly, and the two of them rolled on the ground for four or five circles before stopping.

Zhuo Le wrapped the vine around the man’s arm and pulled it back, kicking his arm and breaking it.

The man cried out in pain, his eyes filled with unwillingness.

Just as he was about to bite open the poison sac in his mouth, he was whipped across the mouth again by Zhuo Le with a thorny vine, the pain making him tremble.

Zhuo Le stepped forward, dislocated his jaw, and casually stuffed a handful of mud into his mouth.

Finally, she broke both of the man’s legs to ensure he couldn’t run.

She quickly walked to Mountain King’s side. Wei Xiaojia was lying on its belly. Apart from scratches and being unconscious from the drug, there were no other problems.

The anxiety in her heart finally subsided. She checked Mountain King again, and it was fine.

“Mountain King, you were great.”

Mountain King nuzzled in Zhuo Le’s palm.

Hu Shuo arrived with people, seeing the severed hand and the blood all over the ground, his legs went weak with fright.

“Comrade Zhuo, are you alright? How is Xiaojia?”

Zhuo Le smiled: “We’re fine. He’s just been drugged and will be fine after a sleep.”

“That’s good, that’s good.” His gaze uncontrollably fell on the severed arm again, hesitating to speak, but in the end, he didn’t ask: “I’ve already had someone report it to the public security. How should this be handled?”

“Just cordon off this area and don’t let anyone near it. We’ve caused you trouble. Director Hu, you can continue filming and not delay your work.”

Hu Shuo… After seeing dead people and bloodshed, who could still calmly film?

“Filming isn’t urgent. I’ve given everyone a holiday, leaving a few brave ones to guard the scene.”

Zhuo Le thanked him again gratefully.
