Chapter 8: A Tsundere Little Girl
“What are you reading? I can’t understand it.”
A milky little voice with a hint of tsundere.
Zhuo Le, Wei Xiaojia, and Mountain King looked up at the head popping out from the upper bunk at the same time.
It was a little girl, seemingly just woken up, with sleepy eyes and shoulder-length hair that was messy from sleep. Her fair little face was puffed out, making her somewhat cute.
The woman in the middle bunk looked up and smiled gently, “Mianmian, are you awake? Be careful coming down. Mommy will take you to the toilet.”
Ruan Mianmian pouted, “I don’t need to go to the toilet. Hey, you still haven’t said what you were reading.”
Bai Hui glared at her, “Don’t be rude.”
Ruan Mianmian snorted and started climbing down with her short legs.
Bai Hui quickly reached out to protect her.
The little girl was quite nimble, and without anyone’s help, she smoothly climbed down from the upper bunk by herself.
Her short legs tentatively tried to put on her shoes, but she groped for a long time without finding them. The soles of her feet were still soft and a little prickly.
“Where are my shoes?”
Bai Hui’s face turned pale when she saw her stepping all over the big dog, “Mianmian, don’t go down, come up quickly, be good.”
Ruan Mianmian’s little hands were hanging on the bed railing, and she struggled to raise her little head, “Why? I want to go down.”
As she spoke, she continued to step. Surprisingly, it felt quite comfortable.
Bai Hui’s heart was in her throat, afraid that Mountain King would turn around and bite Ruan Mianmian. Her little feet weren’t enough for the dog to fill its teeth.
Wei Xiaojia watched for a long time and thought this little girl was silly.
He patted Mountain King’s head, “Help her.”
Mountain King shook its ears and slowly stood up.
Ruan Mianmian tilted her head and felt something warm moving under her feet. She separated her little feet and sat down steadily.
“Huh?”
She tentatively let go of her hands, but she was still stable.
She looked down and found that she was actually sitting on the back of a big dog, “Wow, what a big dog.”
She opened her little claws and grabbed the fur on Mountain King’s back, thinking it was fun, and pulled it several times.
Bai Hui bit her back molars tightly, not daring to make big movements or loud noises, and could only carefully get out of bed.
The little girl wasn’t afraid at all and even took a deep sniff of the big dog. It didn’t smell bad at all and was warm.
“Whose big dog is this?”
“Mine.” Wei Xiaojia puffed out his little chest, “Okay, come down quickly.”
Ruan Mianmian snorted tsundere, “No, big dog, let’s go play.”
Her fair little palms patted Mountain King’s back. Mountain King’s skin was thick and it didn’t hurt at all, but it didn’t move.
Ruan Mianmian was a little angry and hit harder, “Bad dog, hurry up and go.”
As soon as Bai Hui landed, she picked up Ruan Mianmian and said sternly, “Mianmian, what did Mommy teach you? You’re not only being rude, but also very bossy.
More importantly, this dog is so big and so fierce. It’s understandable that you stepped on it without knowing, but why did you deliberately hit it? What if it bites you?”
Ruan Mianmian’s eyes turned red from being scolded, and she委屈的 twisted her fingers without saying a word.
Wei Xiaojia was dissatisfied with Bai Hui’s words, “Auntie, Mountain King doesn’t bite people.”
Bai Hui smiled apologetically, “Auntie knows your dog is very obedient, I’m worried that Miss Sister will anger the big dog, and the big dog will accidentally bite her.”
Wei Xiaojia was still dissatisfied, “Mountain King won’t accidentally bite people either, Mountain King is very smart.”
Bai Hui didn’t want to argue with a little child about these things, “Okay, Auntie said the wrong thing, will Auntie apologize to you and Mountain King?”
Wei Xiaojia was satisfied, “It’s okay, Mountain King, do you forgive Auntie?”
“Woof…” Mountain King barked softly and wagged its tail, showing that it had forgiven her.
Bai Hui was somewhat surprised by the dog’s intelligence, but she didn’t think it really wouldn’t bite, after all, who could say for sure about furry creatures.
“Mianmian, you hit the big dog just now, and you were also impolite to Little Brother and Auntie, you have to apologize too, hurry up.”
The little girl stubbornly refused to speak, her neck stiff with grievance.
Bai Hui smiled apologetically at Zhuo Le, “The child has been spoiled, I’m sorry.”
Zhuo Le smiled and shook her head, “No need to mind, children aren’t dolls, it’s normal for them to have their own little tempers.”
Bai Hui suddenly sighed, “Little tempers are normal, but this child’s temper is getting bigger and bigger. Your child is better, sensible and obedient.”
Zhuo Le pinched her son’s little face, “Boys are more stable, so they can find a wife in the future. It’s not easy for little girls with tempers to be bullied, so you don’t need to worry too much. The old saying goes that children and grandchildren have their own blessings, if you control them too much, you’ll shrink the child’s growth space.”
Bai Hui smiled, agreeing with half of what Zhuo Le said. If you don’t control children when they’re young, you won’t be able to control them when they grow up.
“Where are you going?”
“Dongzhou City.”
Bai Hui was surprised, “What a coincidence, we’re also going to Dongzhou City. We’re from Dongzhou City, and we live in the Dongzhou City district. Is your home in Dongzhou City? Where do you live?”
A woman traveling alone with a child is quite worried and scared.
Meeting Zhuo Le, who was also traveling alone with a child, she inexplicably felt like she had found a relative, and her attitude became much more friendly.
Zhuo Le shook her head, “We’re not from Dongzhou City, we’re just going there to do something.”
“Oh, that’s okay. After you’re done, you can come to my house as guests. The child’s father is away on business all year round, and the child’s grandparents don’t live with us, so it’s just the two of us at home.”
Zhuo Le initially thought the female comrade was a cautious and reserved person, but she didn’t expect her to reveal her entire background in the blink of an eye, not afraid that she would have bad intentions.
“Okay, we’ll visit if we have the chance.”
There were only the four of them and a dog in the car, and Bai Hui treated Zhuo Le as a relative, and she became more talkative. Zhuo Le responded occasionally, and the two chatted quite congenially.
The tsundere Ruan Mianmian had already calmed down and crept up to Mountain King, quietly saying sorry.
Mountain King glanced at her, shook its ears, indicating forgiveness.
Ruan Mianmian was a smart little girl, knowing that she couldn’t order Mountain King around, so she went to pester Wei Xiaojia.
“Little brother, how old are you?”
Wei Xiaojia held up four chubby little fingers, “I’m four years old.”
Ruan Mianmian was very happy, “I’m five years old, you have to call me Mianmian Sister.”
The little girl proudly opened her five fingers.
Wei Xiaojia didn’t argue about this little thing at all, and called out with a serious face, “Mianmian Sister.”
Ruan Mianmian smiled, her big eyes narrowed into a slit, “Little brother is so good, little brother, can you let Mountain King take us to play?”
“No,” Wei Xiaojia refused coldly, “You can’t run around, there are bad people outside, and those uncles and aunties will be afraid of Mountain King.”
Ruan Mianmian pouted angrily, snorted coldly, and decided to ignore Wei Xiaojia.
Wei Xiaojia didn’t care. Since Mommy didn’t have time to teach him to read, he took the book by himself and repeated what Mommy had just taught him.
His little voice was serious and earnest.
The angry Ruan Mianmian secretly glanced over, her little ears perked up.
She couldn’t resist her curiosity and leaned over, “Little brother, what are you reading? Why can’t I understand it?”
Wei Xiaojia held up the book in his hand, “A book, Mommy bought it.”
Ruan Mianmian’s big eyes were full of confusion, “Why can’t I understand it?”
Wei Xiaojia scratched his head, he didn’t know either.
