After My Rebirth, I Decisively Annulled The Engagement And Married The Cold-Faced Military Officer Instead Chapter 32

Chapter 32: What Were You Moaning  Last Night?

“If you’re not feeling well, don’t hold back. If it doesn’t improve, let’s go to a big hospital; a small clinic won’t do.”

“Mm,” he casually replied, pulling a blanket to wrap himself tightly.

It’s wet and uncomfortable.

He had recovered yesterday and should have been able to train and work normally today. But unexpectedly, Yi Yunshuo had already called in sick for him early in the morning.  He’d even called in sick for himself.

Fu Huayi stared at him with a cold expression.

Yi Yunshuo said, “Why are you looking at me like that? I’m doing this for your own good. You can’t risk your life; don’t push yourself too hard.”

“Why did you call in sick for me without asking me first?”

“You didn’t get much sleep last night; you were moaning  all the time and couldn’t get up this morning. What was I supposed to do?”

Fu Huayi was speechless. He couldn’t get up this morning because he hadn’t slept well, but not in the way Yi Yunshuo thought.

“I didn’t call you because I wanted you to sleep in.”

Fu Huayi was speechless again.

“I told the boss that you were seriously ill and uncomfortable all night, moaning  in your sleep.”

Fu Huayi’s position was important. If he got really sick, it would be a big deal. If it were someone else frequently calling in sick, they would be scolded. But Fu Huayi was different; their boss agreed readily.

“After I told him about your condition, he said I should take you to a large hospital immediately.”

Fu Huayi’s mouth twitched, his face darkening.

Yi Yunshuo, oblivious, changed his clothes, saying, “You should change your clothes too once you feel better. Don’t delay your recovery.”

“I’m not going,” Fu Huayi said coldly.

“But how can that be?” Yi Yunshuo said, “The boss wants to see your medical records. If you don’t go, it means I lied, and that would be bad for me.”

“I’m already better.”

“Ah? If you’re better, what were you moaning  last night?”

Fu Huayi was speechless.

“But you still need to go see a physician, Ah Yi, bro, Great Master, if you don’t go, the boss will kill me! Please, I’m begging you.”

Fu Huayi was speechless.

It was better to be mistaken for being sick than for something else.

Fine, he would change his clothes.

Yi Yunshuo insisted on taking Fu Huayi to the hospital to register and get blood work done.

“You do have a bit of a cold, but you should have taken medicine, right?”

“Yes.”

“Let me see what medicine you took.”

Fu Huayi showed him the medicine.

After examining it, he said, “This medicine is good; keep taking it for another two days, and you’ll be fine. I won’t prescribe anything else.”

“Thank you.”

“Young man, you’re not married yet, are you?”

Fu Huayi was speechless.

“Mm, so?”

The old man stroked his beard and smiled. “Young man, it’s good to release some stress.”

Huh?

Fu Huayi’s ears turned red.

“Haha, don’t be embarrassed; everyone’s the same when they’re young.”

Fu Huayi’s face darkened, and he turned to leave.

“Hey, wait for me.”

Yi Yunshuo needed the medical records for his report, so he urged the physician to hurry up. Only after he received the complete records and test results did he chase after Fu Huayi.

Fu Huayi had just started his car when Yi Yunshuo opened the door and got in.

“Why are you driving so fast? I haven’t even asked that old man what he meant yet, and you’re already running away… hey, slow down!” Yi Yunshuo exclaimed.

Before he could finish, the car sped off, and the rest of Yi Yunshuo’s words were swallowed.

Since they had already called in sick, they didn’t rush back to the base but went to Fu Leyi’s bookstore.

Yi Yunshuo took the books from the back seat and went into the bookstore, placing them on the counter. “I’m returning these books and exchanging them for others.”

Lin Yuyao looked up and was surprised to see him.

“You finished reading them so quickly?”

“Mm-hmm.”

“Are you better now?”

“Much better.”

Yi Yunshuo came over. “Oh, it’s Xiao Lin.”

Lin Yuyao smiled. “Hello, Brother Yi.”

“Are you getting used to working here?”

“Pretty good. Brother Yi, feel free to find the books you like; I’ll help you register them.”

“I don’t like reading; the books I need aren’t here.”

“Oh, why don’t you sit for a while, then. Big Brother Fu, what kind of books are you looking for? Would you like me to recommend some?”

“Mm, recommend some popular novels.”

“Okay.” She smiled and went to find a novel.

Lin Yuyao chose several best-selling novels that men usually enjoyed.

“These are very popular and can be borrowed. Do you want to buy or borrow?”

“Borrow.”

“Okay, I’ll register them for you.”

Yi Yunshuo looked at Fu Huayi strangely. After knowing him for so long, he didn’t know that Fu Huayi liked novels.

When did he develop this hobby?

Were they really that good? Should he cultivate this hobby as well?

While thinking this, he went to browse the bookshelves.

At that moment, a bright female voice rang out.

“Oh, Lord Fu, you’re here too.”

Lin Yuyao followed the sound and saw…

A fashionable woman with a bright, Hong Kong-style beauty walked in, standing beside Fu Huayi, her eyes filled with warmth.

Fu Huayi only glanced at her indifferently before lowering his head to watch Lin Yuyao register the books.

The Hong Kong-style beauty’s smile faltered slightly, and she also lowered her head to look at the books on the counter.

“Oh, lord Fu, you read this kind of book? I thought you only liked those books that ordinary people couldn’t understand.”

As she spoke, she reached for a book.

Fu Huayi blocked her arm, preventing her from taking it.

“Mingmei, if you want to read, take it yourself; there are more on the shelves.”

Mingmei’s smile vanished, and she pouted.

“I was just looking. Humph, so stingy.”

At this moment, Yi Yunshuo walked over with a smile. “I’m curious too. I didn’t expect him to like this kind of book.”

Mingmei noticed Yi Yunshuo and widened her smile. “Yunshuo, you’re here too? Are you guys off today?”

“No, Ah Yi is sick, and the boss asked me to take him to the hospital.”

Huh?

Lin Yuyao and Mingmei both looked at Fu Huayi.

His illness wasn’t cured yet? He was sick?

“Lord Fu, are you sick? What’s wrong with you?”

Fu Huayi still ignored her, packing the books into a bag one by one.

Yi Yunshuo spoke for him. “It’s nothing serious, just a cold, but it’s quite severe. He had an IV drip all day and still isn’t better.”

“A bad cold?”

“Ah? I don’t know; I’m not a physician. Anyway, he was uncomfortable and moaning  all night, and this morning, the boss asked me to take him to a big hospital…”

“Shut up.”

Fu Huayi’s face darkened, unable to bear it any longer.

Moaning , moaning —Yi Yunshuo had mentioned it eight times already, telling everyone.

How many more times did he need to say it?

Yi Yunshuo shut his mouth, watching Fu Huayi leave with a dark expression.

Mingmei looked around and decided to follow him.

“Lord Fu, wait for me.”

Yi Yunshuo looked at Fu Huayi walking away, then at the books in his hand, and finally decided to borrow them.

“Comrade Lin, please register these for me.”

Lin Yuyao finally looked away and lowered her head to register Yi Yunshuo’s books.

She had known Fu Huayi for quite some time. In her impression, he was a warm-hearted and upright comrade. This was the first time she had seen him lose his temper.
