Chapter 56: She Doesn’t Understand Men at All
He felt that Yuyao was temporarily influenced by Fu Huayi.
Yes, she was just being deceived and manipulated by Fu Huayi.
Lu Jiangting said, “Don’t believe Fu Huayi; he’s no good.”
Lin Yuyao: “…”
“Why do you think he’s helping you? Because he has ulterior motives. He has the same intentions as me—he wants you. No, that’s wrong; he’s much more disgusting than me. I have a long history with you; I genuinely like you and want to marry you.
He has no history with you; he’s just lusting after you. His family won’t allow him to marry you. Once he gets you, he’ll abandon you. Yuyao, don’t believe him.”
The person hiding behind the door couldn’t take it anymore and was about to rush out.
Suddenly, there was a ‘slap!’ He retracted his hand.
Lin Yuyao had almost used all her strength to slap him.
Her hand stung.
“Do you think everyone is like you? Brother Fu is upright and not like you.”
Lu Jiangting looked at her in disbelief.
“You hit me?”
“Yes, I’ve wanted to do this for a long time,” Lin Yuyao said viciously.
Lu Jiangting sneered, touching his aching cheek, “You don’t believe me, but you believe him?”
“Of course, I believe him. Your desires are written all over your face. Brother Fu has never asked me to do anything; he hasn’t made any inappropriate advances. But you? You’re a scoundrel; you’ve been forcing me to do things I don’t want to do. Last year, when I asked you to help my brother organize his high school materials, you had to take advantage of me.”
Lu Jiangting laughed angrily; how could they be the same?
What was his relationship with her? Helping her brother organize study materials and getting a kiss on the cheek—wasn’t that a lovers’ pastime?
How did it become ‘taking advantage’ in her mouth?
What was her relationship with Fu Huayi?
Could Fu Huayi’s help also earn him a kiss?
Lu Jiangting felt speechless; at the same time, he felt she was too naive.
She didn’t understand men at all.
Of course, that bastard Fu Huayi was good at pretending.
“Fine, fine, let’s wait and see. Time will show whether he’s upright and whether he’s innocent towards you.”
Lu Jiangting, furious, turned and left.
Fu Huayi quickly went behind the bookshelf, picking up a book to read.
Lu Jiangting didn’t buy any books; after reading for half a day, he left angrily.
Then Lin Yuyao entered from the back door, expressionless.
She walked past him without even looking at him.
It made Fu Huayi feel very uncomfortable.
Not only uncomfortable, but thinking about her conversation with Lu Jiangting, he felt indescribable.
In her heart, he was pure and selfless, helping her without asking for anything in return.
Yes, she had already given him four “good person cards.”
But… he knew his true feelings all too well.
He had been planning to get closer to her now that things with Lu Jiangting were resolved.
He would frequently visit her, get to know her better, and then confess his feelings.
Now, this had put a stop to his plans.
Fu Huayi didn’t dare to speak; he didn’t even dare to show his feelings.
It was infuriating.
Damn Lu Jiangting.
“Yuyao, that person… he didn’t bother you, did he?”
Lin Yuyao shook her head and said to Zhou Jing, “It’s okay.”
Zhou Jing patted her shoulder, “If you have any trouble, tell me. I’m a local; I have many relatives and friends here; I have many connections and can help you solve problems.”
“Okay, Sister Zhou, thank you.”
“Let’s not talk about this. Quickly organize these misprinted books and return them to the manufacturer.”
“Okay.”
Fu Huayi had planned to treat her to dinner in the city, but because of Lu Jiangting, he didn’t even dare to stay longer.
He hurriedly took two books and left.
After turning a corner, he saw Lu Jiangting standing in front of his car.
Fu Huayi’s face darkened, his fists clenched involuntarily, and he punched him.
Lu Jiangting didn’t fight back; he touched his cheek, spat out some blood, and laughed.
“Enraged? A brute who only knows how to use his fists.”
Fu Huayi: “…”
“I know you heard me; I said it on purpose. Yuyao has always been by my side; she hasn’t experienced other men and doesn’t understand men. She thinks I’m a scoundrel, disgusting, and naturally, she thinks you’re disgusting too.
Fu Huayi, do you dare? Do you dare let her know how dirty your thoughts are? Do you dare let her know that every kindness you show her, every act of help, is to get closer to her?”
After speaking, Lu Jiangting turned and ran onto the bus that had just arrived.
Fu Huayi felt like he had been hit where it hurt, his heart pierced. Watching the bus drive away, he was furious.
“Damn it.”
He angrily kicked a tree in the roadside green belt.
“Hey, Ah Yi.”
Across the street, from the bus…
A person got off the bus; it was his roommate, Yi Yunshuo.
“You’re really here.”
Fu Huayi, with a dark face, ignored him, turned, opened the car door, and got in.
Yi Yunshuo, bewildered, opened the passenger door and got in.
“Whoa, it’s so hot; I’m about to melt.”
He started the car, stepped on the gas, and sped off.
The wind cooled them down.
Yi Yunshuo asked, “What’s wrong with you? Your face is longer than a donkey’s, and you’re kicking trees. What did they do to offend you?”
Fu Huayi remained silent, driving towards the city.
He had already reserved a private room; he had paid, so he had to go.
Besides, he didn’t have to work tomorrow, and he wanted to drink.
Yi Yunshuo asked all the way but got nothing; he shut up and followed Fu Huayi to the private room.
Since Fu Huayi was paying, why not eat?
Seeing the dishes, Yi Yunshuo was surprised.
“This fish isn’t local. This whole table…” Yi Yunshuo stroked his chin, frowning, “Looks like it was pre-ordered?”
Fu Huayi asked the waiter for two bottles of wine, giving one to Yi Yunshuo.
“Why so many questions? Just eat.”
“Hehe, right.” Yi Yunshuo was overjoyed, “Ah Yi, Brother Yi, from now on, you’re my brother; I’ll call you Brother Yi. Why are you so good to me? Treating me to dinner, and you even pre-ordered it.”
Then he felt gloomy.
Just you?
Just you deserve me to pre-order?
Fu Huayi sneered, opened the bottle, and drank a mouthful in frustration.
“Hey, hey, don’t drink like that.” Yi Yunshuo took the bottle, poured the wine into a glass, and grinned, “Let me pour you a full glass.”
Fu Huayi took the glass and drained it in one gulp.
