Chapter 117: You Are Enough for Me in This Life
Xiang Wanqiao curiously asked, “Have they always been like this? They fight every time they see each other.”
Gu Jingzhan nodded, his expression calm, “It’s just something you get used to.”
Xiang Wanqiao looked at him and said, “But I don’t think you look like you’re used to it.”
Gu Jingzhan remained silent.
Suddenly, Xiang Wanqiao, as if she thought of something, a curve appeared on her lips, and finally, she couldn’t help but laugh.
“What are you laughing at?” Gu Jingzhan asked in confusion.
Xiang Wanqiao cleared her throat, suppressing some of her laughter, and said leisurely, “I was thinking about what Wen Yu said.”
Upon hearing this, Gu Jingzhan’s handsome face instantly fell.
He pulled her hand back, pulling her into his arms, his arms wrapped around her waist.
“What? You don’t want to be a widow for me? Are you really thinking about finding another man?”
Gu Jingzhan’s black eyes stared deeply at her, his tone of voice filled with a thick sense of jealousy.
“Of course not.” Xiang Wanqiao teased him deliberately, “I’m so young and beautiful, wouldn’t it be a pity to be a widow for you?”
“A pity?”
Gu Jingzhan angrily pinched her waist lightly, his long eyes flashing with a dangerous light.
“I’m telling you, you’re destined to be mine for life, don’t even think about escaping me easily, even if I die, I’ll haunt you as a ghost.”
Xiang Wanqiao chuckled, “So domineering?”
Gu Jingzhan snorted coldly, complaining, “And your husband is still alive, but you’re already thinking about finding another man, do you think that’s fair to me?”
Xiang Wanqiao looked at him, her eyes filled with a gentle smile.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, her voice soft and sweet, “In this life, you are enough for me.”
Gu Jingzhan’s gloominess vanished, his lips curled up slightly, forming a charming arc.
In an instant, he lowered his head and kissed her lips.
Xiang Wanqiao slowly closed her eyes, tilting her neck, responding to his passionate kiss.
A brief taste.
Xiang Wanqiao leaned her head against Gu Jingzhan’s shoulder, whispering in his ear, “Just like you said last night, I won’t let you die so easily either.”
Gu Jingzhan half-embraced her shoulder, his jaw rubbing against her head.
“We’ll be fine.”
“Okay.” Xiang Wanqiao held his hand tightly, “We still have so many things to do!”
“For example…”
“For example, dating like ordinary couples, for example, having a grand wedding, for example, going on a honeymoon together, spending every future holiday together, raising our children together, giving them a loving home.”
Gu Jingzhan listened quietly to Xiang Wanqiao’s words, his mind filled with dreams of the future.
He had once fallen into a bottomless abyss, unable to see the light, unable to find meaning in life.
But later, he met the only warmth in his life, and he had the urge to possess her.
He didn’t understand love, because no one had ever loved him, and no one had ever taught him how to love someone.
So he was possessive, crazy, his heart filled with jealousy and a morbid desire to possess.
Now, heaven had bestowed upon him a chance to be loved, and he was slowly learning how to love someone.
He could finally stand in the sunlight, wholeheartedly claiming the warmth that belonged to him.
Gu Jingzhan held Xiang Wanqiao’s hand tightly in his palm, his eyes filled with passion and determination.
He parted his lips, “We have a lot of time, I’ll be with you, to do the things we haven’t done together, to fill in the gaps between us.”
Xiang Wanqiao smiled softly, nestled warmly in his arms.
“Azhan, I love you.”
In the days to come, she would use all of herself to love him, to warm him, to redeem him.
He doesn’t understand love, it’s okay.
For the rest of our lives, I’ll teach him.
I’ll teach him slowly, patiently.
Gu Jingzhan tightened his arms, lowered his head and kissed her forehead, softly responding to her love.
“Qiaoqiao, I love you too.”
