After Seeing the Bullet, the Fat Wife’s Original Self Awakens Chapter 35

Chapter 35: People Are Ignoring You

“Really, if the tiger doesn’t show its power, people think it’s a sick cat!”

Song Xilan had never intended to expose Jiang Jingru’s premarital pregnancy. Even though the other party had plotted against her with the famous artworks, she had no plans to use this as revenge.

But now she was the one being accused first?

Song Xilan was furious. If she was going to speak, then let her say it all, and let’s see who’s afraid!

If she didn’t show some force, they would think she was easy to bully.

Wang Hongyan: “B-but I don’t know anyone else in the dance troupe, even if I wanted to say something, they wouldn’t listen to me!”

Song Xilan: “I don’t care what method you use. Within three days, I want everyone in the dance troupe to know about this. Otherwise, you can forget about working at the food factory—prepare to be fired!”

Though Song Xilan was the daughter of the factory manager, she had never used her family’s power to bully others, and she had never spoken like this before. This was the first time.

Once the words left her mouth, the people around her didn’t find it wrong at all. After all, it was Wang Hongyan who had schemed against her first. It was only natural for her to vent her anger.

“And you guys!” Song Xilan turned around to a few of the female workers who had been gossiping behind her back and said, “You all should know what to do, right?”

“Yes, yes!” Yang Xuemei quickly responded. “If anyone dares to gossip, we’ll set them straight! That Jiang Jingru is the one who started the trouble, doing shameful things herself and trying to drag others down with her!”

Song Xilan nodded. “Mm, don’t go around talking about others in the future. What you see with your own eyes isn’t always the truth, let alone what you hear from others. Things always change when rumors spread.”

“We understand, we won’t do it again.” The girls quickly ran off.

Zheng Qiaoling picked up the lunchbox she had dropped and still seemed a bit disbelieving. “Lanlan, what’s really going on here? What exactly did Jiang Jingru do?”

In her eyes, Jiang Jingru was beautiful, elegant, and a good singer—a person who seemed to live in the clouds. Just talking to her made Zheng Qiaoling incredibly happy, and her biggest wish was to get her autograph in her notebook.

Song Xilan patted her shoulder. “I understand how you feel right now. It’s probably like when I suddenly found out Yang Jingyu was a scumbag.”

She had learned many new words from watching online comments, like “scumbag” for men like Yang Jingyu. Zheng Qiaoling’s situation could now be called “a collapsed house.”

Song Xilan explained the grievances between her and Jiang Jingru over the past few days, but left out the part about the genuine calligraphy by Mi Fu.

Finally, she sighed. “Some people, how do they even think? I didn’t want to argue with her, but she insisted on making trouble. She spread nasty rumors about me, and it doesn’t help her at all. This is just harming others without benefiting herself!”

Zheng Qiaoling, who had gone from disbelief to indignation, exclaimed, “What?! You can tolerate this? This woman is simply morally corrupt! Not only did she cuckold a hero, but she also wanted to steal from your family, and now she’s spreading rumors about you? No way, I can’t stand this! Let’s go find her!”

Song Xilan replied, “Find her for what? Haven’t you heard? Wang Hongyan already exposed all the ugly things she did!”

“No, this isn’t enough! I need to go give her a beating to vent for you.”

“No, that’s not necessary!”

Song Xilan and Zheng Qiaoling were completely different in personality.

Song Xilan was calm and didn’t like conflicts, while Zheng Qiaoling had a fiery temper and couldn’t tolerate injustice.

At this point, Song Xilan couldn’t stop her from wanting to go after Jiang Jingru, so she hurriedly followed. “But we haven’t had lunch yet!”

“I’m too angry to eat!”

Song Xilan thought, But I want to eat! Is there anything more important than eating?

As they neared the dance troupe, they encountered someone with a more imposing presence than either of them.

The person stopped abruptly when they saw them: “Xilanhua? Where are you going?”

Zheng Qiaoling asked, “Lanlan, who is this? Is he talking to you?”

“Qiaoling, this is Jiang Chengxiao, the comrade I mentioned to you before. Comrade Jiang, this is my good friend Zheng Qiaoling. We’re heading to the dance troupe.”

Zheng Qiaoling quickly responded, “Oh, so you’re Comrade Jiang! What a coincidence! You’re the one who caused this trouble with Jiang Jingru. She had people spread nasty rumors about Lanlan at our workplace. We’re going to confront her!”

Jiang Chengxiao furrowed his brows. “What did she do?”

Zheng Qiaoling hesitated. The rumors weren’t pleasant, and judging by what Lanlan had said, she probably had some feelings for Jiang Chengxiao. Even though he knew the rumors were false, hearing them might make him uncomfortable and lead to misunderstandings.

“Forget it, you don’t need to go. It’s no big deal, just some nasty words. We’ll handle it ourselves.”

Jiang Chengxiao chuckled. “Well, what a coincidence, I was just about to find her and settle the score myself.”

“Huh?” Song Xilan was surprised. “What do you need to settle with her?”

“Let’s talk about it when we get there.”

The three of them moved quickly, soon arriving at the dance troupe.

Zheng Qiaoling immediately mentioned Yang Jingyu’s name. Yang Jingyu, who had been trying to figure out how to win Song Xilan back, rushed out as soon as he heard that Zheng Qiaoling was looking for him.

When he saw Song Xilan from afar, he started smiling, knowing that this chubby girl had once been so infatuated with him, there was no way she would just ignore him.

Surely, someone must have said bad things about him in front of her, making her upset. Now that she had cooled off, she must be coming to find him again!

He was trying to please Song Xilan, so all he could see was her: “Lanlan, why didn’t you let me know you were coming? You could’ve sent someone with a message and I would’ve gone to find you! Have you eaten?”

Before he could finish speaking, he noticed a tall and imposing man standing in front of him. As a dancer, he was tall, but this man was half a head taller. Wearing a black cashmere coat, he exuded an intense pressure as he stood in front of him.

“You, who are you? Can’t you see I’m talking to someone?”

Jiang Chengxiao: “I saw, but I don’t want you talking to her. She doesn’t want to talk to you. Don’t you know that?”

“That’s nonsense, Lanlan…”

Song Xilan, with a serious face, interrupted him. “Comrade Yang, I told you not to call me that. It causes misunderstandings, and it’s bad for my reputation. I came here with Comrade Jiang, not to look for you.”

Zheng Qiaoling added, “Enough talking, Yang Jingyu. I’m the one who’s looking for you. Where’s the broadcasting room?”

Yang Jingyu: “Why do you need the broadcasting room? Only a few people are allowed in there.”

“Well, you usually need to play some music during rehearsals, right? You must have amplifiers and speakers or something. Just grab whatever you need and use it.”

Yang Jingyu became cautious. “What exactly are you trying to do? Don’t do anything reckless!”
