After Separating from my Mother-in-law, I started to make Money on a Daily Basis Chapter 29.1

Chapter 29: This matter is our fault; please be magnanimous and forgive our small mistakes

Since she dared to say that she was seeking her own demise, Shen Xuezh bamboo retorted, “You’re the one seeking death! Since you dare to say such things to me, aren’t you afraid that I might beat you to death?”

As she said this, Shen Xuezh slammed her hand down on the counter, startling the shop assistant, who stepped back a few paces, looking shocked at her.

The shopkeeper heard the commotion from the back room and casually brought out two men.

“Who is causing trouble in my shop?”

The shopkeeper came in with an imposing presence, but Shen Xuezh remained unfazed.

The shop assistant pointed at Shen Xuezh, “Shopkeeper, it’s this village woman. She’s not buying clothes and is causing a scene in our shop, and all the other customers have left because of her.”

Hearing that the other customers left because of Shen Xuezh, the shopkeeper immediately chased her away. “You come into our shop and disrupt our business; why are you still here? Hurry up and leave!”

Shen Xuezh stood her ground, furious. “I’m not leaving! I haven’t finished speaking yet! Why should I leave?”

Seeing Shen Xuezh’s temper flaring, the shopkeeper became a bit more cautious and softened his tone. “What do you want to say?”

Shen Xuezh raised an eyebrow and looked at the shopkeeper. “First, let me clarify that I am not causing trouble. Secondly, I can afford the clothes in your shop.”

“Now, please listen to me finish.”

Noticing they weren’t saying anything, Shen Xuezh continued, “When I came to your shop, I saw a dress suitable for my little girl.”

“I touched the fabric, and your shop assistant told me not to touch the clothes, saying that if I damaged it, it wouldn’t be sellable anymore.”

“When I looked up, I saw him looking at me with a disdainful expression.”

“Do I look so shabby that I seem like someone who can’t afford your clothes? That doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be allowed to touch the clothes, right? You can’t imply that I would damage them either.”

“So, I deliberately asked, ‘Does your shop sell clothes of such poor quality that they can be damaged just by touching them?’”

The shopkeeper, considering Shen Xuezh’s claim that she could afford their clothes, softened his attitude a bit more and said, “Of course, it’s fine to touch the clothes. This is our fault; we shouldn’t have said not to touch them.”
