After the Beautiful Ex Wife Reborn and Married a Commander He Went Crazy with Regret Chapter 3

Chapter 3 I’m going to file a marriage report

Undeniably, she was beautiful.

And her beauty was strikingly impactful.

She had willow eyebrows and almond eyes, rosy lips and white teeth.

Her features held a blend of innocence and allure, like a peach blossom in springtime, delicate and alluring, making one want to look again and again.

Meeting the man’s deep yet sharp gaze, Lin Yiwan’s hands, hidden under the table, unconsciously fidgeted, like a child who had made a mistake in front of an elder.

“Mm!”

Although she was so nervous that she felt her asthma was about to act up again, Lin Yiwan still nodded firmly.

“Heh…”

Xie Lin chuckled softly, his gaze taking on a playful glint.

“You want to marry me? But why should I marry you?”

As soon as he said this, the woman’s fair little face flushed crimson, and a hint of embarrassment appeared in her watery eyes.

She looked like a helpless little kitten, pitiful and adorable.

“I… I can farm, and I have some knowledge of oil-producing sand beans.”

Oil-producing sand beans are a plant specifically used for oil extraction, and they were only recently introduced to China.

In fact, in her previous life, she had spent most of her time researching this crop and had achieved good results.

This was the only achievement she could boast about.

However, she was just a fresh graduate, only a year out of college, with a degree in Agricultural Economics and Management.

So Lin Yiwan felt a little insecure.

Xie Lin’s ambiguous smile fell upon her delicate, fair face.

“It’s not that I doubt you, it’s just that… your face isn’t very convincing.”

Seeing that he didn’t believe her, Lin Yiwan became anxious.

“When I get back, I can show you the data.”

Seeing her eagerness to prove herself, Xie Lin chuckled again.

The sound seemed to gently emanate from the depths of his chest, with a hint of hoarseness, yet it was incredibly captivating, as if it could penetrate the eardrums and reach the very bottom of one’s heart.

“Alright then, I believe you.”

Hearing this, Lin Yiwan finally relaxed.

Then, remembering something, she asked, blushing, “So… do you agree to marry me?”

She had just ended a failed marriage, and logically, she shouldn’t be looking to marry again so soon.

But in these turbulent times, as a beautiful and helpless woman, staying in Beijing wasn’t a good idea.  Rather than worrying about being plotted against, it was better to take the initiative.

The army was the best place to go. And among the people she knew, the only relatively reliable person was Xie Lin.  In her previous life, his wife couldn’t stand the hardship of Northwest China and divorced him, and he never remarried.

His ex-wife even said he was celibate, like a monk. Lin Yiwan didn’t want to get involved in love again, Xie Lin was undoubtedly the best choice.

He had few needs, was busy with training and rarely at home, and she wanted to go to Northwest China to continue researching oil-producing sand beans, and she didn’t need a man’s company.

Most importantly, Song Huaiqing had said he was single and was being pressured to marry.  All things considered, Lin Yiwan thought Xie Lin was a perfect marriage partner.

Xie Lin looked intently at the woman, whose face was flushed like a peach blossom. After a moment, he slowly spoke.

“You need to think carefully. Military marriage isn’t as simple as you think. Once you get married, there’s no turning back.”

Lin Yiwan didn’t understand why he said that.

Didn’t he get divorced in her last life?

But it didn’t stop her from nodding seriously.

“Yes, I know.”

“Good, I’ll file the report.”

Xie Lin was also decisive.

Seeing his agreement, Lin Yiwan completely relaxed, her clear, bright eyes shining like stars in the sky.

Suddenly, remembering something, she quietly asked, “That… Uncle… when will the marriage report come down?”

Xie Lin slightly raised his eyelids, the smile at the corner of his lips causing a strange tingling sensation on one’s scalp.

“Uncle?”

He slowly uttered these two words.

Lin Yiwan: …

Oh no! She had gotten used to calling him that after following Song Huaiqing, and she hadn’t changed her habit.

Xie Lin was actually Song Huaiqing’s uncle.

While called uncle, they were not blood-related; he was simply a war orphan adopted by Song Huaiqing’s grandfather.

In her previous life, Lin Yiwan rarely saw him and only learned about him from others’ brief mentions.

She knew he was very capable, had earned countless military merits at a young age, and his promotion speed was astonishing.

Grandpa Song had more than once publicly exclaimed that a tiger father doesn’t have a dog son.

Xie Lin’s father was a war hero, single-handedly eliminating more than 200 enemies before bravely sacrificing himself.  His son was no slouch either, making great contributions in the counterattack war.

“Hehehe… I slipped up, Xie Lin Ge, don’t mind.”

Lin Yiwan quickly changed her address.

She didn’t know why, even though she had already lived a lifetime.  But facing the twenty-seven-year-old Xie Lin, she felt inexplicably nervous.

She didn’t know whether it was his overwhelming aura or the deeply ingrained image of the stern and authoritative superior from her previous life.

The moment she called him Brother Xie Lin, the man’s cold expression instantly melted away.

The corners of his lips curled into a faint smile, and he asked, “You’re in a hurry?”

Lin Yiwan didn’t follow his train of thought, her confused eyes blinking, looking at him questioningly.

“You’re in a hurry to marry me?”

Hearing this, Lin Yiwan almost choked on her own saliva.

She was a little urgent, but not that kind of urgent.

Why did it sound like she was desperate to marry from his mouth?

Her face was burning hot, and she nodded somewhat embarrassedly.

“If possible… the sooner the better.”

Xie Lin nodded.

“I’ll expedite it, you… don’t worry.”

Lin Yiwan: …

Who’s worried?

She glared at him somewhat shyly, but saw a smile in his eyes.

Lin Yiwan immediately understood that he was teasing her!

“I’ll go back then.”

Lin Yiwan didn’t dare to stay longer and fled in a panic.

Behind her, the man’s low chuckle echoed.

After leaving the teahouse, Lin Yiwan’s face was still burning.

After fanning her face to lower the temperature a bit, she didn’t stay long and hurried to her next destination.

Lin Yiwan was assigned to the Grain Bureau after graduation.

This was a respectable and glorious job, one that many people would kill to get.

In her last life, Lin Yirou used this position to thrive, making connections.

In the end, she married the son of the committee director in style.

Even after the turmoil ended and the man went to jail, she was not implicated.

Instead, with Song Huaiqing’s help, she lived a comfortable life.

The teahouse was in the military compound, a bit far from the Grain Bureau, so she took a bus, taking about ten minutes to arrive.

Returning to her familiar yet unfamiliar workplace, Lin Yiwan felt a little dazed.

Following her memory, she came to her desk.

“Hey! Yiwan, why are you here today? Are you here to handle the transfer for your sister?”

Li Aimei asked curiously.

“Mm.”

Lin Yiwan responded with a wry smile on her face.

But her heart was terribly cold.

She had indeed come to handle her work, but not to transfer it to Lin Yirou.
