“Let’s get a divorce.”
Li hadn’t even opened her eyes when she heard this conversation beside her ear.
——What the heck? I’m not even married.
Filled with anger, Li struggled to open her eyes, which felt like they were glued shut with industrial-strength adhesive. She saw two women—or rather, one woman and a young girl—looking down at her. The girl was hiding in the woman’s arms, her eyes red and puffy, as if she had been crying.
A sharp pain shot through the back of her head, causing Li to frown in confusion. Had she been abducted after falling asleep while reading a novel last night, and then had her head cracked open? It seemed her boring and uneventful life had finally encountered an exciting moment. Li’s heart leaped with excitement. She immediately looked down at her clothes, but her view was obstructed by two prominent mounds.
Huh?
Did the kidnappers kindly give her a breast augmentation?
“You—”
Where did you get this surgery done?
Before Li could utter a complete sentence, she saw the woman holding the girl look at her with disgust. “Don’t cling to me anymore.”
“?”
The woman seemed extremely resentful, as if years of pent-up anger were finally being unleashed. Her lips moved incessantly.
“I’ve already done everything for you. After your family went bankrupt, I kept my marriage promise and married you. For all these years, I’ve never mistreated you. Haven’t I? I’ve told you before, I don’t love you. We never had love. Haven’t you noticed? We have nothing in common. You can’t do anything. You can’t do housework at home, and you can’t work outside.”
“We ended up like this entirely because of you, not because of Sangsang.”
“Li, I hope my partner is someone who resonates with me on a soul level, not a vase.”
“Okay, Yunshang, don’t be like that,” the girl in the woman’s arms tugged at her sleeve. Her small face was still red, and her voice was soft. “Sister Li hasn’t done anything to me.”
Li sat on the ground, her brows furrowed tighter than ever.
Something’s wrong.
This world is wrong.
Upon hearing this, the woman called Yunshang sighed. “Sangsang, you should have told me sooner that she came looking for you. I’ll protect you.”
Then, the woman turned to Li. “Li, let’s get a divorce.”
Oh. Li, who had been watching the drama unfold, finally understood. She had a complete epiphany.
She had transmigrated.
She had transmigrated into the lesbian novel she had been reading before bed last night, titled “The Movie Queen’s Little Princess.” The two female leads were Qiao Yunshang and Gu Sangsang. They fell in love while working together on a historical drama. However, their relationship was not smooth because Qiao Yunshang had a vicious and obsessive vase-like ex-wife.
The ex-wife grew up with Qiao Yunshang. After her family went bankrupt after college graduation, she married Qiao Yunshang and became a full-time housewife. For four years of marriage, their relationship was unknown to others. After the divorce, the ex-wife’s presence made the path of Qiao Yunshang and Gu Sangsang’s relationship rocky. To break up Qiao Yunshang and Gu Sangsang, the ex-wife even willingly submitted herself to industry bigwigs to hinder their advancement in the entertainment industry.
In short, it’s complicated and melodramatic.
The reason Li read this novel was because her scatterbrained agent told her she saw a lesbian novel online where the villainous supporting character had the same name as her. Li became interested because her name was quite rare and unusual. To have a namesake was considered fate. For the sake of fate, Li clicked on the novel.
The novel was long, over a million words, meticulously detailing the two female leads’ passionate yet tumultuous love story. Li fell asleep after reading the first third.
And she woke up here.
Li, once praised by a renowned director as the actress with the “fastest immersion,” quickly accepted her new role.
——A woman with the same name but a completely different personality.
A woman consumed by love.
