After the divorce, I became the boss’s favorite [Through the Book]
After the divorce, I became the boss’s favorite [Through the Book] Chapter 2

Li, a seasoned actress who could instantly get into character, burst into tears within three seconds.  She collapsed onto the ground, sobbing uncontrollably.

“Yunshang, how could you do this?”

Qiao Yunshang had to admit, Li was a stunningly beautiful woman.  Her fragility was willow-like, her tears heartbreaking.  Her slightly furrowed brow held a hint of spring snow, making one want to gently brush it away. Qiao Yunshang hesitated for a moment, then heard Gu Sangsang’s plea, “Yes, Sister Shang, you really don’t need to divorce because of me. I… I’m not worth it.”

Turning around, Gu Sangsang was also crying.

If Li’s tears were those of a woman, then Gu Sangsang’s were those of a girl.

Her crying was pitiful, like a small animal about to be abandoned, aware of her impending rejection yet still offering a reasonable smile.

Li wiped away her tears, concealing the slight arch of her eyebrow.

Interesting, Gu Sangsang.

She hadn’t seemed this clever in the book.

Now, Qiao Yunshang was caught in a dilemma; her wife on the ground, her junior apprentice by her side.

After Gu Sangsang tugged at Qiao Yunshang’s sleeve, Qiao Yunshang gritted her teeth, her face cold as she looked at Li, “I’ve made my decision. You leave. I’ll come find you tomorrow to handle the divorce.”

Huh?  It has to wait until tomorrow?

Li didn’t want to see this young couple for even a second longer, so her tears continued to flow, “Yunshang, you’re so cruel.”  *You could be crueler.*

“Will you change your mind tomorrow?” Li looked up at Qiao Yunshang with hope, subtly glancing at Gu Sangsang.

Sure enough, after hearing Li’s words, Gu Sangsang’s expression changed, and she urged Qiao Yunshang again, “Sister Shang, think it over again.”

Qiao Yunshang wasn’t someone you could persuade; persuasion only made her stubborn.

She clenched her fists, “No.” Seeing the shattered despair in Li’s eyes, Qiao Yunshang felt a surge of satisfaction, making her resolve even stronger, “Absolutely not.”

“Let’s get divorced now.”

Hearing this, Li cried even louder.

Oh my god, this is so delightful!

Two hours later, Li looked at the divorce certificate in her hand and smiled contentedly.

A top actress is a top actress; she still had some skills when it came to speeding up the divorce process.

Watching Qiao Yunshang turn to leave, Li stopped her.

Qiao Yunshang’s expression was impatient, “What is it?”

Li smiled slightly, smoothing her slightly disheveled hair, “Qiao Yinghou (Qiao, the top actress), now that we’re divorced, there are some things we can talk about.”

Qiao Yunshang frowned, “We’re over.”

Li covered her mouth and laughed, “Not that.” She tilted her head and pointed to the wound on her head, “Medical expenses, you should pay for those, right?”

Qiao Yunshang was displeased, “What tricks are you playing? I won’t stay with you anymore.”

Li looked innocent, “Whether you stay or not doesn’t matter, but the money has to stay.”

In the end, Qiao Yunshang paid Li three thousand yuan in medical expenses.

After receiving the bank transfer, Li happily blocked and deleted Qiao Yunshang’s WeChat.  Her head wasn’t seriously injured; it was just a scrape. She went to a pharmacy, bought alcohol and iodine, and asked a doctor to clean and treat it.

After doing all this, Li went to Cha Bai Dao and bought a cup of cheese mango smoothie. Sitting in the empty shop, she sipped her drink while quietly organizing the information in her mind.

But—the feeling of being able to freely drink cheese smoothies without worrying about maintaining an actress’s image is just too good!

Li took a large gulp, discovering that the paper straw was already damp and damaged.

Damn it!

Plastic straws are the best to bite on!

Back to the main point, back to the main point.

According to the original owner’s memories, although her family went bankrupt, after being with Qiao Yunshang, she had several houses to live in and lived a carefree life as a landlady. Before today’s incident, the original owner lived alone in Dongcheng. Qiao Yunshang was always filming, and they rarely saw each other, only meeting a few times a year.  In their four years of marriage, they only had intimacy on their wedding night.

Qiao Yunshang also gave a harsh assessment of the original owner’s performance that day.

Five words:  Good-looking but useless.

No wonder.

No wonder the marriage was unhappy.

Li pouted, recalling Qiao Yunshang’s words during the divorce.  Besides the self-deception and excuses, she was right. The original owner wasn’t a woman who could be loved.  Because of her wealthy upbringing, she had a bit of a princess complex, and because she had tasted the benefits of her beauty early on, she was quite arrogant. After falling in love with Qiao Yunshang, her already limited self completely disappeared.

Besides buying bags and clothes, the original owner had no other hobbies and no means of supporting herself. She was like a parasitic vine clinging to Qiao Yunshang, living off her.

A vase, a vase destined to break.

And today’s scene played out because the original owner saw online that people were shipping Qiao Yunshang and Gu Sangsang. Although others said it was fake, the original owner, who had loved Qiao Yunshang for so many years and had humbled herself to the dust, knew: Qiao Yunshang and Gu Sangsang definitely had something going on.

So, the original owner paid a paparazzi to find out the filming location of Qiao Yunshang and Gu Sangsang’s new drama, rushed over to confront Gu Sangsang.  During the argument, Gu Sangsang started crying, attracting Qiao Yunshang, who had just finished filming. Qiao Yunshang, enraged, accidentally pushed the original owner to the ground. This allowed ‘Li’ to take advantage of the situation and get three thousand yuan in medical expenses.

A mess.

Li finished her last sip of tea, pulled out the straw, and licked the cheese off the straw.

This action made the girl making the tea blush, and she didn’t notice the spill until a customer shouted in anger and she apologized frantically.  Li got up gracefully, pretended to adjust her posture, and walked out.

Standing in the sunlight, she raised her hand to shield her eyes.

Well, from now on, I’ll be a landlady.
