Chapter 20: If You Need Help, Come Find Me

The bouquet lingered in her hand for less than two seconds before it was abruptly snatched away, leaving only a faint fragrance.

Su Yiren blinked, looking up at Lu Yunting. His dark eyes made him feel even more restless.

“Who is that for?” Jiang Jinyun asked.

Lu Yunting didn’t answer. He loosened his tie, sat down on the sofa across from them, and stared at Su Yiren with a heavy gaze.

“Why are you here?”

“Why can’t I be here?” Su Yiren retorted lightly.

Lu Yunting sneered, leaning back on the sofa, sarcastically saying:

“The youngest and most beautiful female CEO of the Su Group actually condescended to come to the Lu family. What an honor.”

“Speak properly!” Another pillow was thrown at him!

Lu Yunting looked at Jiang Jinyun with annoyance. His eyes clearly said: Can you please give me some face!

Jiang Jinyun also felt that it was inappropriate for her to be sitting between the young couple, so she stood up. She pointed at Lu Yunting from afar:

“I’ll go check on the soup in the kitchen. You stay and talk to your wife.”

After she left, Su Yiren, changing her previous gentleness, leaned back on the sofa like him, her posture languid.

“Didn’t you want me to explain? Explain what?”

Seeing her indifferent attitude, Lu Yunting’s brow furrowed.

“Look at yourself now!”

Su Yiren blinked curiously.

“Explain why I’ve become like this? Is that all you want to ask?”

“Su Yiren! Don’t play dumb with me!” Lu Yunting was angered by her. He lowered his voice and questioned:

“How much property do you want?”

Su Yiren frowned. It all came back to the issue of property. Did he really think she was a woman who loved money?

If so, then don’t blame her for being impolite.

“I want 30% of the Lu Group’s shares.”

Lu Yunting’s eyes widened instantly. “Su Yiren, are you crazy?”

He didn’t even own 30% of the shares, and she was asking for so much!

Su Yiren smirked. “What? No?”

“Don’t joke around,” Lu Yunting took a deep breath and said in a low voice,

“I’ve already had the lawyer draw up a list of assets. I’ll send you an electronic version tomorrow. If there are no problems, just sign it.”

Su Yiren casually looked at her nails, clearly not interested in the division of assets.

Seeing her sitting there quietly, Lu Yunting suddenly remembered an event that happened shortly after their marriage.

He was standing on the lawn chatting with a company director, when he caught a glimpse of her sitting in the corner, watching the grass intently.

Perhaps she didn’t like interacting with strangers, she was almost always sitting alone, and she would occasionally glance at him. After meeting his gaze, she would shyly look away.

It was just a fleeting glance at the time, but the image inadvertently settled in a corner of his heart, covered by sunlight, watered by rain, taking root, growing, and spreading.

That her and the her now overlapped, inexplicably making his heart soften a bit, so much so that his tone of voice when talking to her had changed slightly.

Lu Yunting said softly, “Don’t tell my family about the divorce yet.”

Su Yiren looked up. “Why?”

“Why do you have so many whys?” Lu Yunting saw that she seemed to want to argue, so he could only explain helplessly,

“My grandfather is not in good health. I’m afraid it will upset him. My mother… she has a bad temper. I’ll talk to her later.”

Su Yiren raised her eyebrows, nodding emotionlessly.

“Whatever.”

She didn’t want to bring it up anyway, so letting Lu Yunting handle it himself was just fine with her.

The two fell silent for a moment. Lu Yunting suddenly asked:

“Are you sure you want to start your own brand?”

“Yes.”

Since entering the room, Lu Yunting finally spoke calmly:

“If you have any difficulties, you can come to me. Lu Group has many clothing companies.”

Su Yiren looked at him in surprise, clearly not believing that he would actually say such a thing.

They had known each other for so long, and he always spoke without much emotion, cold and distant, as if he were talking to a stranger. Let alone such caring words.

Su Yiren felt surprised, and even Lu Yunting himself was puzzled.

Why did he want to help her?

She had clearly torn up the contract with Lu Group, causing the company to lose billions, and making him get scolded by his mother!

Why should he still help her?

But the words were out, and it was impossible to take them back. He could only pretend to be nonchalant.

Anyway, she wouldn’t ask for his help.

Su Yiren turned her gaze away and gently pursed her lips.

After another moment of silence, Su Yiren asked:

“When will the paperwork be ready?”

“Anytime,” Lu Yunting unconsciously twisted the wedding ring on his ring finger,

“Since you’re in Jiangcheng anyway, let’s find time to do it these two days.”

Su Yiren took a deep breath and nodded.

“Okay.”

“What are you two going to do?” Jiang Jinyun just happened to come out of the kitchen. Seeing them chatting peacefully, she was overjoyed.

Lu Yunting opened his mouth, but before he could think of an excuse, he heard Su Yiren smiling and replying:

“A friend of mine wants to hold an art exhibition. I was just talking to him about it.”

Jiang Jinyun nodded. “Then you have to tell me when it is. I’ll buy tickets to show my support.”

Su Yiren smiled with her eyes curved. “You don’t need to buy tickets. I’ll have someone send them to you!”

“No,” Jiang Jinyun shook her finger,

“I want you to deliver them personally.”

Su Yiren knew she was teasing her, so she nodded obediently.

“Okay~ I’ll deliver them to you personally.” The two laughed together.

Lu Yunting watched the two of them in unusual harmony, and a part of his heart inexplicably sank. A strange feeling slowly grew within him.

It was an indescribable feeling, but surprisingly, it wasn’t bad.

His phone buzzed. He withdrew his gaze and unlocked the screen.

After glancing at the WeChat message, he suddenly spoke.

“Mom, we’ll have guests coming over later.”

Jiang Jinyun looked at the clock. It was almost seven o’clock.

“Which guest?”

Lu Yunting hesitated for a moment and said:

“Sasha.”

“Who?”

Lu Yunting repeated helplessly, “Ouyang Sasha.”

Jiang Jinyun was immediately flustered and blurted out:

“What is she doing here!”

She subconsciously glanced at Su Yiren. Seeing that she had already lowered her eyes and looked like she knew what was going on, she felt even more angry.

Lu Yunting said sincerely:

“Sasha has been wanting to come see you since she returned to China. She happened to have time today, so she begged me to bring her to see you. She got off the car halfway to get you a gift.”

Jiang Jinyun stood up, her face displeased.

“Come talk to me in the study.” She then walked towards the study.

Lu Yunting sat still, patiently persuading her:

“Mom, the past is the past. Now our company has business dealings with the Ouyang family. We can’t keep the relationship between the two families as strained as before.”

“That’s two different things.” Jiang Jinyun saw that he was stubborn and simply spoke frankly:

“Have you considered Yiren’s feelings?”

Lu Yunting was startled. “What does this have to do with her?”

Jiang Jinyun couldn’t believe that she, a smart and capable woman all her life, had given birth to such a low-IQ creature. She was furious and said:

“She’s your wife! You bring other women home, what do you think it has to do with her?”

Lu Yunting understood what she meant and frowned.

“Sasha is just a friend.”

“Then what about these flowers?” Su Yiren suddenly spoke, pointing to the bouquet of fiery red roses on the table,

“These are the flowers you sent to your friend, right?”
