Chapter 29: Junior Brother “Not Late”
Su Yiren returned to the living room when the driver just happened to deliver two boxes of dresses.
One was a pink ribboned box, the other a dark gray ordinary box.
Without thinking, she opened the pink box. Inside was a long dress with a thin strap.
It was clear that this was a custom-made dress.
The material was really good. It was obviously made of high-quality fabric.
It was a dark green, a little old-fashioned, but it was acceptable.
But the style…
Su Yiren picked up the two straps, looked it up and down, and clicked her tongue twice.
“Lu Yunting’s aesthetic is really low.”
She threw the dress back into the box with a look of disgust, rummaged through the closet, picked out a simple dress, put it on, put on some light makeup, and then went out.
This time back to Jiangcheng, she was not only going to the ancestral home to see Jiang Jinyun, but also to do something important.
Her junior brother, “Not Late,” would be holding an art exhibition at the Jiangcheng Art Museum in two days.
As his senior sister, she naturally had to go and show her support.
“Not Late” real name is Chi Muyang, three years younger than her. He is intelligent, lively, and showed extraordinary talent in painting as a child, winning numerous international awards in the children’s group.
Later, her teacher saw this child and took him on as a student.
When Su Yiren walked into the exhibition hall, the staff were carefully hanging up the paintings.
She saw the thin and tall figure at a glance.
The little bean sprout who used to follow her around saying “Senior Sister this, Senior Sister that” seemed to have grown up overnight.
Su Yiren felt a pang of warmth in her heart, smiled slightly, and called out:
“Muyang!”
Chi Muyang turned around, surprised at first. When he saw that it was Su Yiren, his eyes immediately filled with joy.
“Senior Sister!” He opened his arms and rushed over, just like when he was a child, he hugged her waist.
But unlike before, he could now lift Su Yiren up, and he spun her around several times!
“Oh my god! Put me down! I’m going to get dizzy!” Su Yiren laughed and patted his shoulder,
“You little rascal, you’ve grown taller again!”
Chi Muyang reluctantly put her down, but still kept his arms around her, laughing:
“Not only have I grown taller, I’m also stronger! Senior Sister can’t hold me anymore!”
“Yeah.” Su Yiren smiled and touched his soft hair, like she was coaxing a child.
He had indeed grown taller, she couldn’t reach his head without standing on her tiptoes.
Chi Muyang giggled and bent down, like a big dog, letting her touch his head, his eyes shining brightly,
“Senior Sister, didn’t you say you would come on the opening day? Why did you come two days early?”
“I just happened to be in Jiangcheng, so I came to see if you needed any help.”
“There’s nothing to do, most of the work is done by the people at the exhibition hall, we just need to tell them what we want.” Chi Muyang took Su Yiren’s hand and walked inside,
“Senior Sister, I’ll show you around first.”
“Okay, I also want to see if the ‘Flower Master’s’ painting skills have improved.”
Chi Muyang laughed, “Senior Sister, don’t make fun of me! ‘Flower Master’, more like ‘Flower Heart Master’!”
He was so self-deprecating that Su Yiren couldn’t help but laugh.
Chi Muyang is lively, comes from a good family, and is very popular with the opposite sex.
At a young age, he has had a lot of girlfriends, enough to fill an exhibition hall if they held hands.
But to call him a playboy is not quite right.
He treats each of his girlfriends sincerely, accompanying them to eat, drink, and shop, buying clothes and bags without hesitation.
He gives his all when they are together, and he doesn’t stay in touch with his exes, nor does he cheat.
But unfortunately, they break up after a few days, he just says he doesn’t feel right.
After breaking up, these ex-girlfriends don’t argue or make a fuss, some even become friends with him.
She really doesn’t understand whether he’s dating girlfriends or female friends.
Su Yiren asked him what kind of girlfriend he wants to find, he always giggled, scratched his head and stammered, unable to say.
“Your painting skills have improved a lot.” Su Yiren praised generously after admiring several paintings,
“Teacher would be very happy if he saw this.”
When it came to her deceased teacher, Chi Muyang’s smile faded, and he said sadly:
“Before I came back to China, I burned one of my paintings, hoping he could see it in heaven.”
Su Yiren patted his shoulder, not wanting him to be too sad,
“Don’t be sad, Teacher just went to another place to paint.”
“Right,” Chi Muyang raised his face, his handsome eyes shining softly,
“He has painted all the beautiful scenery on earth, now he’s going to heaven to collect inspiration.”
Su Yiren smiled and nodded.
They had already reached the back of the gallery, she noticed that the wall in the middle was empty, so she asked:
“What are you going to hang in this space?”
Chi Muyang slapped his forehead in realization,
“Ah, I almost forgot something important!” He grabbed Su Yiren’s hand and said with a flattering smile:
“Senior Sister, I want to ask you a favor.”
“No,” Su Yiren realized what he wanted to do, and deliberately refused with a stern face.
“Senior Sister~” The 1.8-meter tall boy begged, shaking her hand,
“You know what I want.”
Su Yiren helplessly glared at him,
“I don’t want to exhibit my paintings.”
“Why? You paint so well! It will definitely blind everyone if you exhibit it!” Chi Muyang persuaded:
“Even Teacher said that of all his students, only your paintings can surpass his.”
“Teacher was just flattering me,” Su Yiren looked at the paintings hanging around, and said calmly:
“Painting is like the heart, there is no high or low, and no one can surpass anyone. As long as there is love in your heart, what you paint is beautiful; as long as the person who paints is in tune with your heart, they will naturally see your painting as a treasure.”
“Senior Sister is right~” Chi Muyang followed behind her like a shadow, echoing her every step,
“But this wall is specially prepared for your painting, I didn’t bring any other paintings back, you can’t let me exhibit a blank wall, it would be so embarrassing!”
Su Yiren looked at her junior brother helplessly, and finally gave in to his innocent and harmless eyes, sighing,
“Fine… which painting do you want?”
“The sunflower you painted five years ago!”
Chi Muyang was so happy, he babbled on,
“I used to copy that painting, but I found it was so bad, so I gave it away! Senior Sister, do you still have that painting? Hang it here so I can show it off!”
Su Yiren was stunned, the painting from five years ago…
