Chapter 31: He’s Not My Husband

“This restaurant is pretty good. I’ve been here with friends a couple of times before.”

Su Yiren ordered a few of the restaurant’s signature dishes. Just as she handed the menu to the waiter, she heard Chi Muyang say:

“Sister, I want to drink!”

“No.”

Su Yiren glanced at him, her answer crisp and clear.

Chi Muyang grumbled in frustration: “Why? I’m an adult!”

“I know you’re an adult,” Su Yiren smiled, her chin resting on her hand,

“But you’re still a kid in my eyes.”

This sentence seemed to touch a sore spot. Chi Muyang’s expression changed, he gently pursed his lips and turned his head to look out the window.

“Are you angry?” Su Yiren felt surprised. Chi Muyang, who always had a great temper, was actually sulking?

She leaned over to pat his head, but Chi Muyang dodged her.

“Are you really angry?” Su Yiren shook her head helplessly,

“It’s just a bottle of wine…”

Seeing that he still ignored her, Su Yiren had no choice but to call the waiter,

“Bring me the wine I have stored here.”

Chi Muyang was still looking out the window, not saying a word. Su Yiren had no choice but to coax him like a child:

“I just think you can’t drive after drinking, and you’ll have to find a designated driver, it’s too much trouble. You know, I can’t drive…”

“Senior Sister,” Chi Muyang suddenly pointed out the window, turning his head to ask her:

“That person… is he your husband?”

Su Yiren followed the direction of his finger, and two figures under the streetlight caught her attention.

Lu Yunting was looking down and talking to the young woman in front of him, his expression calm, not as cold and distant as he was when he was with her;

The woman had her back to them, but Su Yiren recognized her immediately, it was Ouyang Shasha.

Didn’t he say he had a business dinner tonight?

His business dinner was a date with Ouyang Shasha.

Su Yiren glanced at them twice, then withdrew her gaze expressionlessly. As she raised her eyes, she met Chi Muyang’s concerned gaze.

She curled her lips and answered very confidently:

“He’s not my husband.”

She didn’t say the second half of the sentence: After signing the divorce agreement, she had unilaterally divorced him.

Maybe Lu Yunting thought the same way.

“Oh~” Chi Muyang touched his nose,

“Then I must have mistaken him.”

Su Yiren took a sip of her tea and suddenly asked:

“But… how do you know him?”

Chi Muyang had never met Lu Yunting, how could he recognize him at a glance?

“I saw your wedding photo at the teacher’s place.” Chi Muyang paused before answering:

“Since you came back, the teacher has missed you very much, and he often takes out old photos to look at.”

Su Yiren nodded, a sudden pang of sadness in her heart.

She did send the teacher a few photos when she got married, one of which was their wedding photo.

After all, he was one of her few remaining relatives, she wanted him to witness her happiness.

Unfortunately, she and Lu Yunting didn’t have a wedding ceremony, they didn’t invite any guests, and naturally they didn’t ask the teacher to come and bless them in person.

Thinking back to what happened at the time of their marriage, Su Yiren couldn’t help but smile bitterly.

She should have realized that marrying Lu Yunting wouldn’t bring happiness.

At that time, he said he didn’t like taking pictures, so he didn’t even take wedding photos with her.

The only photo they had together was the one she sent to the teacher – the photo on their marriage certificate.

She still remembered the photographer asking them to sit closer, but Lu Yunting remained unmoved, she could only silently move closer to him.

She could feel that as she got closer, the coldness on Lu Yunting’s body intensified.

It was an excruciating few seconds.

Until the photographer said the photo was taken, Lu Yunting immediately stood up and strode away, leaving her alone in the photography studio.

Looking at his cold back as he left, Su Yiren comforted herself again and again:

He just has a cold personality, he doesn’t dislike her.

After all these years, thinking back to his every move at that time, Su Yiren understood everything.

How could you possibly want to take pictures with someone you don’t love?

It was just out of necessity.

While she was lost in thought, the food was already served.

They chatted while eating, Chi Muyang talked about many interesting things in a rambling way, Su Yiren listened with a smile, occasionally adding a few words, the atmosphere was very pleasant.

Just then, a familiar female voice sounded behind them:

“Yiren?”

Although Su Yiren was mentally prepared, when she turned her head and saw Ouyang Shasha and Lu Yunting standing together, she still felt very uncomfortable.

Ouyang Shasha seemed to have discovered a new world, she exclaimed in surprise:

“It’s really you! I was still saying to Ating outside that it looked like you! What a coincidence!”

As she spoke, her gaze fell on Chi Muyang’s face, she looked him up and down, and said with a smile:

“Is he your friend? He’s so handsome! Yiren, you’re really amazing, all the guys you know are tall and handsome! Isn’t that right, Ating?”

Ouyang Shasha turned to look at Lu Yunting, but she didn’t expect that he wasn’t looking at her.

Lu Yunting had been looking at Su Yiren since he entered, until he heard Ouyang Shasha’s question, then he moved his gaze away.

He didn’t say anything, obviously he wasn’t interested in answering, as if he didn’t know Su Yiren at all, he walked away directly.

“Hey? Ating!Wait for me!”

Ouyang Shasha immediately chased after him for a few steps, then stopped and said to Su Yiren:

“Yiren, let’s chat another time! Ating and I have a date for dinner!” Then she waved to Chi Muyang very gracefully,

“Bye bye, handsome!”

Chi Muyang raised his eyebrows, picked up his teacup and took a small sip, imitating Ouyang Shasha’s tone just now and said:

“Good tea!”

From beginning to end, Su Yiren didn’t say a word, she didn’t withdraw her gaze until she saw them go upstairs.

“Senior Sister…” Chi Muyang called her nervously.

Su Yiren calmed herself down and smiled at him:

“Right, where were we talking about just now?”

Su Yiren drank quite a bit of wine tonight.

She was still trying to persuade Chi Muyang that drinking was bad, but after seeing Ouyang Shasha and Lu Yunting appear together, she suddenly wanted to have a couple of drinks as well.

Chi Muyang could sense the change in her mood, so he didn’t stop her, and the two of them had a good drink.

The designated driver first sent Su Yiren back to the villa.

After getting out of the car, Chi Muyang pulled Su Yiren’s arm like a child, calling her Senior Sister over and over again, as if he had endless things to say.

Su Yiren could only coax him with a couple of words, saying that she would go home and give him the painting, only then did Chi Muyang reluctantly let go of her.

It wasn’t until she stuffed the big drunk into the car and watched the car drive away that Su Yiren finally sighed in relief, turned around and went to the front of the villa, pressing her fingerprint to open the door.

But the door beeped, indicating a fingerprint error.

Su Yiren widened her eyes and looked carefully, the house number was correct.

She pressed her fingerprint again carefully, but it was still wrong.

She didn’t believe it, she adjusted the position of her finger and pressed it a third time, there was a voice prompt:

“Fingerprint has been disabled after three consecutive errors. Please enter the password to open the door.”

Su Yiren had no choice but to press the numbers one by one.

However, the password she used to know by heart couldn’t open the door now.

Su Yiren knocked her head in annoyance, then she suddenly realized: Lu Yunting had changed the password.

It hadn’t been long since she moved out, and he had already deleted her fingerprint and changed the password.

He was really… very cautious.

Su Yiren suddenly smiled, but the smile was particularly bleak.

With no other choice, she had to knock on the door.
