Chapter 45: You Sure Know How to Kick a Horse When It’s Down
“It’s nothing,” Lu Yunting casually wiped the blood away, acting like it was no big deal.
Su Yiren realized that it must be the wound from the last time Wang Meng slashed him that was bleeding again.
“How could it be nothing?” She immediately turned to the doctor in the car,
“Doctor, please take a look at his wound, will you? He was slashed on his arm before.”
Lu Yunting didn’t want to cause so much trouble, but seeing Su Yiren’s stubborn look, he swallowed his words.
He could only follow the doctor’s instructions, obediently taking off his dark shirt. The white gauze wrapped around his arm was indeed stained red with blood.
This was the first time Su Yiren had seen his wound so directly.
When she visited him at the hospital before, his wound had already been bandaged.
She saw that on his muscular arm, there was a three-inch long gash, almost cutting through his entire upper arm.
It had already scabbed over, but now, due to holding her and pulling on it, it had reopened, leaving a bloody mess.
Blood trickled down, dripping from his fingertips, a horrifying sight.
Su Yiren felt a pang in her heart, and her voice became a little agitated,
“Your arm isn’t healed yet, why are you still being so reckless?”
If he hadn’t hugged her just now, it wouldn’t have been so serious.
Su Yiren felt guilty and distressed, and she also wanted to kick him a few times.
At this moment, she even forgot about their previous argument and displeasure, only feeling a pang of heartache from the bottom of her heart.
Lu Yunting, for once, didn’t retort, he just pursed his lips, turning his face away from her.
The doctor re-dressed his wound, and Lu Yunting just leaned against the wall of the car, silent.
Su Yiren regretted her harsh tone earlier, but the words were already out, and there was no way to take them back, so she could only say to the doctor:
“Please be gentle…”
Lu Yunting looked at Su Yiren in surprise.
She was lying on the stretcher, her multiple abrasions already treated, looking a bit disheveled.
But her eyes were clear and bright, especially when she looked at the wound on his arm, there was a hint of worry and anxiety in her eyes.
Was she worried about him?
Lu Yun blinked.
It must be.
He could even see that her eyes were slightly red.
Realizing this truth, Lu Yunting felt a slight sinking in his heart, a warm feeling rising from that place.
“You just lie down properly, you’re still a patient yourself.” Lu Yunting gently reminded her, speaking to her calmly for once.
Su Yiren pursed her lips, not saying anything more, but her eyes stayed on his arm, watching the doctor carefully treat it.
Lu Yunting’s arm was just bandaged when the ambulance arrived at the hospital.
This time, Lu Yunting didn’t hug her, he just followed the stretcher all the way into the hospital.
This private hospital was a Lu family enterprise, so Su Yiren was treated with VVIP status.
After a series of examinations, the doctor told them that Su Yiren’s ankle was only a minor soft tissue injury, her ligaments were not damaged or torn, and the other abrasions on her body had also been bandaged. He prescribed some medicine and told her to rest at home for a few weeks.
“But try not to move around during this time, and use ice packs on the sprain for the first few days to reduce swelling.” The doctor looked at both of them and repeatedly reminded them,
“Remember not to do any strenuous exercise.”
Su Yiren agreed softly, but Lu Yunting felt that the doctor was hinting at something, and he looked at him suspiciously.
“Don’t need to be hospitalized?”
The doctor told the truth, “You can rest at home.”
“No way,” Lu Yunting’s attitude was firm, “Stay hospitalized for two weeks for observation.”
“Why?” Before the doctor could speak, Su Yiren disagreed, she didn’t like this arrangement,
“I didn’t even stay in the hospital for that long when I had a concussion!”
She particularly disliked the smell of medicine in the hospital, and she didn’t like lying in bed all day doing nothing.
Moreover, she found being hospitalized a hassle, she couldn’t sleep well at all.
She was woken up early every day to have her temperature taken, her blood pressure checked, and sometimes she would even have blood drawn. She was busy all morning, and she felt dizzy and lightheaded.
Seeing her blushing cheeks and her big, black eyes arguing with him, Lu Yunting’s heart suddenly softened a little, but his words were still unyielding,
“No reason.”
“Lu Yunting!You’re being unreasonable!”
Su Yiren glared at him, but she had made up her mind: if she wanted to leave, could he stop her?
“Whining won’t work.” Lu Yunting said with lowered eyes.
“Who’s whining!” Su Yiren was really angry,
“You’re the one who’s being self-righteous!”
Lu Yunting ignored her, went out and said a few more words to the doctor, then remembered what she said earlier, and turned back to ask:
“Are you hungry?”
Su Yiren was indeed a little hungry. She had wanted to eat some sashimi at the banquet earlier, but he had interrupted her.
Then she had argued with him and got angry;
Then there was an accident, and she didn’t have time to eat anything.
Now, hearing him ask, her stomach cooperated by rumbling, and Su Yiren awkwardly touched it.
Lu Yunting obviously heard the sound, and seeing her embarrassed expression, the corner of his lips twitched slightly:
“What do you want to eat?”
Su Yiren seemed to be deliberately contradicting him, and simply answered with two words:
“Sashimi.”
Lu Yunting saw the hint of defiance and pride in her eyes, like a haughty cat.
He couldn’t help but snort, and called Zhou Tong:
“Go buy some late-night snacks, something light.”
Su Yiren knew he wouldn’t listen to her, but she didn’t argue with him anymore.
It was good enough that he would buy her something to eat, she wasn’t asking for much.
“You can go now.” Su Yiren directly issued an order to leave.
Lu Yunting was amused by her, “You sure know how to kick a horse when it’s down.”
Su Yiren raised an eyebrow, “Since you know what you are, just go, lest I kill you.”
After all, he was the one who called himself a donkey, she was just following his words and calling him one too.
Lu Yunting’s jawline tightened,
“Su Yiren,I went through all the trouble of bringing you to the hospital, and you don’t even have a word of thanks, you use me and then kick me out?”
“Thank you,” Su Yiren promptly blocked his words,
“But even if you hadn’t shown up, someone else would have brought me to the hospital.”
It’s just that she didn’t expect Lu Yunting to appear so promptly, it was indeed unexpected.
“Someone else?” Lu Yunting’s eyes flashed with displeasure, he asked back:
“Sheng Tianhao?”
He had seen it clearly in the stairwell just now, Sheng Tianhao had been staring at Su Yiren’s face the whole time, his expression concerned, his eyes almost falling out of his head!
If he hadn’t appeared in time, that kid would definitely have taken advantage of the situation, and it was hard to say what he might have done.
“A weasel paying a New Year’s call to a chicken, there’s no good intention.”
