Chapter 53: Mind Your Own Business

Su Yiren didn’t need to turn around to know who it was. She furrowed her brows and pretended not to hear.

But even though she ignored them, someone was determined to make their presence known.

Ouyang Shasha hurried a few steps, circling around to stand in front of them, feigning surprise:

“Oh, Jiaer is here too! Tianhao is here as well!”

Sheng Tianhao nodded politely to Ouyang Shasha, and Sheng Jiaer greeted her as well,

“What a coincidence, you’re here to see the art exhibition too?”

It was simply a polite remark, but Ouyang Shasha raised her eyebrows smugly, deliberately raising her voice:

“Of course! These tickets were hard to come by, you know!”

She glanced at Su Yiren and deliberately added:

“A-Ting got them for me! He’s really resourceful!”

Su Yiren was taken aback. She remembered Ouyang Shasha saying she wanted to give tickets to Jiang Jinyun when she went to the ancestral home, but Jiang Jinyun didn’t accept them. Unexpectedly, these tickets were actually obtained by Lu Yunting.

Mentioning these bothersome things in front of his wife, even outsiders couldn’t stand it.

Sheng Tianhao said in a flat tone, “Since these tickets were so hard to come by, why don’t you go in quickly, Ms. Ouyang?”

Ouyang Shasha seemed completely oblivious to his attempt to shoo her away. Instead, she smiled shyly:

“I need to wait for A-Ting here! He went to buy me some juice.”

She awkwardly covered her mouth,

“Ah, I didn’t know I’d meet you here, so I didn’t ask A-Ting to bring you any juice! Yiren, you wouldn’t be mad about that, would you?”

She was clearly showing off and mocking, aiming to make Su Yiren angry. Anyone with eyes could see it.

Su Yiren was well aware of her intentions, but she was too lazy to deal with her at this moment. She simply asked:

“Is leftover shrimp delicious?”

Ouyang Shasha’s face turned pale instantly. Sheng Jiaer asked in confusion:

“What’s leftover shrimp? Is that a new meme?”

Su Yiren looked at Ouyang Shasha with a hint of a smile, but spoke to Sheng Jiaer:

“Ms. Ouyang is great in every way, except for one bad habit. She likes to eat leftovers. I’ve reminded her before that leftovers are not only unappetizing but also lack nutrition, but she wouldn’t listen. She just loves to stuff other people’s leftovers into her mouth and show it off everywhere.”

Sheng Jiaer immediately understood the implication of her words and could only awkwardly smile along.

Su Yiren saw Ouyang Shasha’s face turn from red to white, her eyes widening in anger, but she dared not retort. The feeling was quite satisfying.

“Oh, right, you can enjoy your juice slowly.” Su Yiren’s lips curled up,

“Even freshly squeezed juice is not as nutritious as fruit, and it spoils very quickly. I don’t like it.”

With that, she didn’t bother to waste any more time with Ouyang Shasha. She turned to Sheng Jiaer and said:

“Let’s go.”

Sheng Jiaer also wanted to leave this place of trouble as soon as possible and hurriedly pushed her forward.

To be honest, she didn’t like Ouyang Shasha very much, but the Ouyang family and the Sheng family had some business dealings. To maintain those relationships, she didn’t want to make things too awkward with Ouyang Shasha.

Therefore, even when attending events together, her attitude towards Ouyang Shasha was lukewarm, neither close nor distant, always maintaining a certain distance.

Especially now, after this incident, she felt even more strongly that Ouyang Shasha was not a good person.

She had only heard rumors before, saying that she and Lu Yunting had been childhood sweethearts, and that Su Yiren had stolen him away, leaving her heartbroken and abroad for healing.

But what the truth was, only the people involved knew.

Just as the Sheng siblings were about to push Su Yiren towards the entrance of the exhibition hall, a tall figure blocked their way.

“What are you doing here?” Lu Yunting asked in a deep voice, his tone tinged with displeasure.

He glanced up at Sheng Tianhao, then frowned at Su Yiren and urged:

“You’ve been out for a long time, you should have had enough fun. Go home.”

Sitting in her wheelchair, Su Yiren only needed to raise her eyes slightly to see the juice in his hand, and a cold laugh escaped her lips.

He was always cold and ruthless towards her, even if there was a brief moment of warmth, it would turn cold in an instant.

But towards Ouyang Shasha, he was always obedient and gentle, full of affection.

She wanted to make a sarcastic remark, but considering the Sheng siblings were here, she didn’t want to make things too embarrassing. She simply said:

“I came here specifically for this art exhibition. I’ll go back after I’m done.” She then turned to Sheng Jiaer and said:

“Jiaer, let’s go.”

Sheng Jiaer was about to push the wheelchair, but Lu Yunting grabbed the armrest.

He looked down at Su Yiren’s legs, then glanced at Sheng Tianhao, who stood like a guard behind the wheelchair, and his anger flared, his brow furrowing even tighter.

“I told you to go home.”

Their eyes met, neither giving an inch.

People around them who were about to enter the exhibition hall started to look in this direction. Su Yiren didn’t want to argue with him, so she leaned forward and said in a voice only they could hear:

“Lu Yunting, I’m giving you face. Don’t force me to say something unpleasant in public and make you lose face.”

Seeing Lu Yunting’s brow twitch, as if he wanted to retort, Su Yiren added:

“Juice goes bad after sitting for too long, quickly go and offer it to your sweetheart. Mind your own business.”

She pushed Lu Yunting aside and turned her wheelchair into the exhibition hall.

Sheng Jiaer quickly followed, wanting to comfort Su Yiren, but she hesitated.

Sheng Tianhao, with one hand in his pocket, looked at Lu Yunting with a hint of a smile, nodding his head. His gaze was thoughtful, full of meaning.

Lu Yunting stood behind them, watching the Sheng siblings enter together, the annoyance in his eyes becoming more intense.

Ouyang Shasha walked up to him and asked softly:

“A-Ting, didn’t you say you had to leave early for work?”

Lu Yunting, his gaze still fixed on Su Yiren’s back, said coldly:

“I’m done now.”

“Great!” Ouyang Shasha said happily:

“Then let’s go in!”

Lu Yunting withdrew his gaze, gave a faint “hmm,” and handed her the juice.

But Ouyang Shasha remembered Su Yiren’s mockery of her earlier and suddenly lost her desire for the juice.

“You hold it for now, I don’t really want to drink it right now.”

Lu Yunting frowned: “Didn’t you say your chest felt tight and you wanted something cold to drink?”

Ouyang Shasha took the opportunity to cover her chest, feigning weakness:

“Maybe it’s because there are too many people here, I can’t breathe very well.”

She was wearing a low-cut dress, and the spot she covered with her fingers was just right, as if she was trying to entice people to look.

But Lu Yunting was not in the mood to look at her. He impatiently asked again:

“Are you sure you don’t want to drink it?”

Ouyang Shasha bit her lip, “You hold it for me, I’ll…”

Before she could finish, she saw Lu Yunting walk over to the trash can and throw the juice away.

Ouyang Shasha: “…”
