Chapter 59: You Have the Nerve to Lecture Me?
Everyone suddenly realized: yes! Lu Yunting had just said that no one had ever set foot in this sunflower field except the Lu family.
So how did Bu Yu get to the Lu family’s ancestral home and when did she paint it?
Bu Yu, the internationally renowned painter, what connection does she have with the Lu family?
Faced with everyone’s chatter, Lu Yunting pursed his lips, but ultimately said nothing.
After learning about Su Yiren’s identity, he naturally knew that she had always been very low-key.
She always concealed her identity from the outside world and rarely sold her paintings. Even though they were left to gather dust in her studio, she didn’t act like other famous painters and use these works to make money.
Moreover, he had heard that Su Yiren had donated all the paintings she had sold for huge sums of money to impoverished mountainous areas, orphanages, and nursing homes, but these good deeds were not widely known.
She was very low-key, seemingly unwilling to flaunt herself in front of others.
So at this moment, he wanted to continue to conceal her identity.
“Everyone, stop discussing this,” Lu Yunting said calmly.
“I think the reason why she didn’t sign her name in a prominent place is because she doesn’t want to be the center of attention. Just appreciate the artwork.”
Seeing that he was unwilling to reveal Bu Yu’s identity, although everyone was itching for more information, they dared not probe further and could only continue to admire the paintings.
Su Yiren looked up at Lu Yunting, somewhat surprised.
He hadn’t exposed her identity? It was quite unexpected.
Ouyang Shasha, seeing the topic had passed, finally breathed a sigh of relief.
But then she remembered Lu Yunting’s words just now, and a bad feeling suddenly arose in her heart.
She leaned closer to Lu Yunting and whispered:
“Ating, who is this Bu Yu? Why did she go to the sunflower field?”
Lu Yunting glared at her impatiently and lowered his voice:
“You better think about how to explain the painting to the police.”
Ouyang Shasha’s face immediately changed.
“Ating… you won’t leave me alone, will you?”
Lu Yunting was about to speak when he heard Jiang Jinyun cough lightly, her voice carrying an air of authority.
“Yunting, come over and accompany me for a walk.”
Lu Yunting no longer whispered to Ouyang Shasha and walked directly towards Jiang Jinyun. Seeing her smiling at the Sheng siblings, she said:
“Thank you both for taking care of my daughter-in-law. It’s rare for her to hold an art exhibition in Jiangcheng. Go ahead and take a look around. Leave this place to us mother and son.”
Sheng Tianhao immediately understood Jiang Jinyun’s meaning. She didn’t want Su Yiren to have any more contact with him.
But even though he understood, Sheng Tianhao’s face didn’t show any displeasure. Instead, he politely said:
“Where are you talking about, Mrs. Lu? You and my little sister have similar temperaments. As her older brother, I’m very pleased. I really hope she can learn some of Mrs. Lu’s composure, so that I can worry less.”
Jiang Jinyun laughed heartily.
“Miss Sheng is bold and straightforward, which I find admirable. You siblings should come to our house sometime. There are few children in the Lu family, and the old man loves these young people. Come often, and make the house lively.”
Sheng Tianhao naturally agreed. Watching them walk away to another area, he sighed softly.
Sheng Jiaer seemed to sense her brother’s emotional change and asked cautiously:
“Brother, do you like Yiren?”
Sheng Tianhao quickly glanced at her, then smiled helplessly.
“She’s the daughter-in-law of the Lu family now. Don’t say things like that anymore.”
He then glanced at the thin, yet still upright figure in the wheelchair, and secretly thought:
Who knows what the future holds? But he couldn’t say it now.
Ouyang Shasha stood there, watching the three of them go to another side to appreciate the paintings, feeling both angry and envious.
Her gaze shifted, and she suddenly saw the young man who called himself an “appraiser” still standing in front of the sunflower painting. She walked over.
She glanced at Chi Muyang’s handsome profile and lowered her voice:
“Don’t think I don’t know your intentions! You’re just speaking up for Su Yiren!”
Chi Muyang turned to look at her, his raised eyebrows carrying a hint of amusement. He asked back:
“Miss Ouyang bought a fake painting and now wants to bite back at me?”
“How did you know I bought it!” Ouyang Shasha blurted out, but when she saw Chi Muyang’s smirk, she suddenly realized:
“You’re tricking me?”
Chi Muyang sneered, he had already heard Su Yiren talk about the origin of this painting. Did he need to trick her?
“No! Su Yiren told you!” Ouyang Shasha’s mind was quick, she sneered,
“You two are really inseparable, you eat together, and you’re so intimate, it’s clearly not a proper relationship.”
Chi Muyang’s expression turned cold. “Miss Ouyang, if you say another word, I can sue you for defamation.”
“You!” Ouyang Shasha dared not say anything more. She snorted coldly,
“We’ll see!”
Chi Muyang reminded her leisurely behind her:
“I advise you, Miss Ouyang, to stay away from Su Yiren in the future, otherwise…”
He didn’t finish his sentence, but Ouyang Shasha felt a pair of eyes staring at her from behind, like a lurking venomous snake, making her dare not turn around. She quickly walked away.
Her phone buzzed. Chi Muyang took it out and looked at it, and he smiled.
【Senior Sister: Go ahead with the original plan.】
—
Jiang Jinyun and the others walked for a while and encountered an acquaintance.
The other party was a leader in the Jiangcheng medical system. Unexpectedly, he was also here. Jiang Jinyun immediately went over to greet him.
Seeing her chatting happily with this leader, Lu Yunting took the opportunity to push Su Yiren away.
When they reached the central courtyard, Lu Yunting stopped and stood opposite Su Yiren.
There were trees and flowers planted in a staggered pattern, with a fountain in the center and scattered benches around, making it a good place to rest.
Seeing that there were no people around, Su Yiren looked up at Lu Yunting and asked:
“What are you bringing me here for?”
“You have the nerve to ask me?” Lu Yunting’s face immediately turned ugly.
Su Yiren smiled slightly, her words sharp.
“Lu Yunting, just say what you have to say, don’t be sarcastic, it doesn’t look like a man.”
“Su Yiren! What’s wrong with you!” Lu Yunting angrily reprimanded her,
“I told you to stay at home and recuperate, but you had to come here to attend some art exhibition! You came, but you had to stick to Sheng Tianhao, making a spectacle of yourself!”
Su Yiren raised her eyebrows slightly. She knew he had more to say, so she didn’t speak.
Sure enough, seeing that she didn’t change her expression, Lu Yunting gritted his teeth and said:
“Is that appraiser the one who had dinner with you that day? What’s your relationship with him! Why are you clinging to that painting? You know that Shasha was tricked into buying that painting, why do you have to go against her?”
“That’s the real reason you’re angry, isn’t it?” Su Yiren sneered,
“Lu Yunting, you can’t even clean up your own mess, and you have the nerve to lecture me?”
