Chapter 67: She is Her, You are You
Su Yiren hesitated for a moment.
Although she had a good relationship with Sheng Jiaer, they weren’t close enough to publicly reveal their identities.
Just as she was feeling embarrassed, a voice with a faint smile came from behind,
“I know her. What do you want to ask my senior sister?”
The two turned around and saw that it was Chi Muyang.
Since he had publicly revealed his identity, he had been incredibly busy these past few days.
One moment he was holding a press conference, then a fan meeting, then a magazine interview, and then he was invited to give a lecture at a university.
He had become a celebrity.
Therefore, Su Yiren hadn’t seen him since the farewell at the art exhibition.
She hadn’t expected him to be invited to Grandpa Lu’s birthday celebration, and she hadn’t expected him to accept the invitation.
“You’re here.” Su Yiren always spoke to Chi Muyang casually, there was no need to be so polite.
Chi Muyang nodded with a smile in his eyes, then looked at Sheng Jiaer and greeted her politely,
“Good morning, Miss Sheng.”
When Sheng Jiaer saw Chi Muyang, her eyes almost popped out with hearts.
“My idol! Thank you for the painting you gave me! I will definitely treasure it!”
“Don’t call me ‘you’ and ‘your’, it’s like I’m much older than you,” Chi Muyang winked at her,
“So, what do you want to ask my senior sister?”
Sheng Jiaer felt a little embarrassed and said with a blush:
“Just asking out of curiosity…”
Chi Muyang laughed: “Curious about what?”
“Just things like her age, appearance, personality…” Sheng Jiaer giggled,
“She’s my idol too, I want to know about these things. But if they’re secrets, forget it, I didn’t ask.”
“You sound like you’re trying to set her up on a blind date,” Chi Muyang’s words made both of them laugh. Then he pretended to be deep in thought and touched his chin, as if searching for some important memory,
“My senior sister is very young, very beautiful, and when she stands in a crowd, she has a gentle and moving aura. As for her personality, she’s very gentle, but sometimes she’ll pick up a slipper and beat people up…”
Sheng Jiaer burst out laughing,
“It seems like you got beaten up by your senior sister a lot when you were little.”
Chi Muyang chuckled and subconsciously glanced at Su Yiren. Seeing that she was also smiling, it seemed like she was also reminiscing about childhood fun.
They were chatting enthusiastically, and some people nearby recognized Chi Muyang and gathered around, leading to another round of compliments and greetings.
Sheng Jiaer happened to receive a phone call and went out, so Su Yiren went to the small sofa and planned to sit down and rest for a while.
Not long after, Chi Muyang finished dealing with those people and came over to sit next to Su Yiren, asking:
“Where’s Jiaer?”
In just a few minutes, his address for Sheng Jiaer had changed from “Miss Sheng” to “Jiaer”. He truly was a master at flirting.
Su Yiren glared at him reproachfully,
“Don’t go around flirting with young girls, like a playboy.”
“I’m not!” Chi Muyang protested,
“I was just grateful to her for speaking up for you at the art exhibition!”
“That’s good,” Su Yiren nodded and whispered,
“I’m just reminding you, Jiaer is a simple girl, and her brother is very protective, so don’t do anything reckless, or it will be hard to deal with the consequences.”
Chi Muyang pouted, “Senior sister, you don’t trust me at all.”
Su Yiren really didn’t trust him.
Over the years, he had had enough girlfriends to hold hands and walk around the track.
“But why are you hiding it from her? Are you still reluctant to reveal your identity?” Chi Muyang asked.
Su Yiren shook her head,
“It’s not that, I just thought there wasn’t a suitable opportunity to reveal it, and it wasn’t necessary anyway. What’s the difference between revealing it and not revealing it? I’m still me, right?”
After saying that, she looked up and down at Chi Muyang. Seeing that he was still dressed impeccably, with not a single hair out of place, she suppressed the urge to mess up his hair and asked with a smile:
“But you, after revealing your identity, you’ve been busy all day long, do you find it interesting?”
“It’s alright, my life is a lot more fulfilling, just a bit tiring.” Chi Muyang chuckled, still the mischievous kid he had been.
“How long do you plan to stay in China?” Su Yiren asked him.
Chi Muyang answered mysteriously:
“Secret.”
Su Yiren rolled her eyes at him, “Don’t say it if you’re not going to tell me.”
Chi Muyang couldn’t keep it in for more than two seconds before spilling the beans,
“I’m planning to stay in China.”
“Really?” Su Yiren didn’t quite believe him. He had always been so carefree, how could he possibly settle down in one place?
“Of course it’s true,” Chi Muyang said smugly,
“Many art associations in China have invited me to be their president, several universities want to hire me as a guest lecturer, and some government agencies… I find it all very interesting.”
Su Yiren looked at his cheerful demeanor with a cold eye and shook her head,
“Guest lecturer… Don’t mislead the students.”
“You’re questioning my professional skills!” Chi Muyang protested in frustration.
Su Yiren shrugged, “I just think you won’t be able to stick to a regular job.”
Chi Muyang looked at her with resentment, then suddenly snorted,
“Then I’ll go be a university teacher!”
Su Yiren: “…”
Just… like that?
Guests continued to arrive, and Lu Yunting couldn’t just chat with the Ouyang family anymore, so he became busy too.
After greeting several groups of guests, he went to the outdoor lawn to inspect the arrangements for the banquet.
Just as he was busy, Ouyang Sasha walked up to him and asked sweetly:
“Ating,is there anything I can help with?”
Lu Yunting checked the birthday banquet flow chart again and said nonchalantly:
“There’s nothing to help with, you can just wander around.”
“Then…” Ouyang Sasha pursed her lips and asked cautiously:
“Can you take me to see the sunflower field?”
Lu Yunting was taken aback, turned to look at her, and said firmly,
“No.”
“Why!” Ouyang Sasha looked disappointed:
“Are you still angry with me?”
“No.” Lu Yunting replied calmly, turning back to his work, but Ouyang Sasha wouldn’t give up,
“Ating,I already apologized to Su Yiren, can’t you forgive me?”
Seeing that he ignored her, she said again:
“Didn’t you say that as long as I apologized to her, you would let bygones be bygones?”
Lu Yunting stopped reluctantly,
“I only said let bygones be bygones, I didn’t say I would take you to the sunflower field.”
“But I just want to see it!” Ouyang Sasha pouted in complaint,
“That Bu Yu went, why won’t you take me?”
Lu Yunting answered simply and clearly:
“She is her, you are you.”
Ouyang Sasha stomped her foot in anger, but Lu Yunting was not buying it now.
“Oh, who has made our Miss Ouyang angry?” A woman’s voice with a laugh came from behind, Lu Yunting subconsciously frowned.
It was his second aunt, Sun Xiaoxia.
Lu Yunting didn’t have a good impression of his second aunt, but he rarely came to the ancestral home, and when he did, he rarely went to their courtyard, unless it was a family gathering or a large-scale banquet like this. They rarely saw each other.
However, Ouyang Sasha was quite close to her, and she had often gone to their courtyard while looking for Lu Yunxi.
Seeing Sun Xiaoxia walk over, Ouyang Sasha took her arm and said coquettishly:
“Second Aunt, I want to go to the sunflower field, but Ating won’t take me.”
Sun Xiaoxia’s smile faltered for a moment, then she chuckled and teased:
“When you become one of our Lu family, you can naturally go!”
