Chapter 78: He Doesn’t Care at All
“Divorce cooling-off period?”
Su Yiren stared at the bespectacled, somewhat stiff clerk behind the counter, repeating uncertainly.
“Yes, a month’s cooling-off period.” The clerk pushed up his glasses and replied simply:
“After a month, if both parties still maintain their current thoughts, you can come back to complete the procedures.”
Su Yiren emphasized again:
“We are very calm now, extremely calm, we don’t need to wait any longer.”
“This is the process.” The clerk insisted.
Lu Yunting leaned back in his chair, coldly watching Su Yiren’s anxious expression, a cold snort escaping his nostrils.
She was in a hurry.
Realizing this method wouldn’t work, Su Yiren hurriedly asked:
“Are there any other ways to avoid the cooling-off period?”
The clerk nodded, “You can file for divorce.”
Su Yiren nodded repeatedly, gesturing for him to elaborate.
“If both parties have disputes over property, children, etc., or if one party engages in domestic violence, they can file for divorce in court.”
Su Yiren and Lu Yunting exchanged glances, feeling that none of these issues applied to them.
In terms of property, Lu Yunting had previously given her a divorce property division list, which she had signed, so there were no problems;
Children, no need to consider…
Domestic violence?
Su Yiren thought for a moment, then leaned close to his ear and whispered:
“Should I hit you? That would constitute domestic violence.”
Lu Yunting’s lips twitched, he glared at her and retorted sarcastically:
“That’s a brilliant idea.”
“Then what do you say!” Su Yiren’s voice suddenly rose,
“This won’t work, that won’t work, are we getting divorced or not!”
Lu Yunting had been scolded by Jiang Jinyun for half the night, almost sleepless, and was already in a bad mood. Seeing her anxious look made him even more irritated,
“If I tell you to wait, then wait. They’re just following the rules.”
“Why are you yelling at me!” Su Yiren also vented the frustration she had been suppressing.
“You’re not in a hurry now, you were waiting in the car before dawn, weren’t you!”
Lu Yunting frowned, “It’s just that I was afraid you’d say I didn’t keep my word.”
Then, he looked at the stunned clerk and asked:
“Even without these issues, can we still file for divorce?”
The clerk nodded, “Yes, but after filing, the court will need to mediate, which also takes time.”
Su Yiren saw a glimmer of hope and immediately followed up:
“How long will it take?”
She wanted it to be as fast as possible.
After last night’s commotion, she had seen Lu Yunting’s true heart, why waste any more time on him.
It’s better to part ways amicably and give each other freedom as soon as possible.
The clerk said in a straightforward manner:
“It’s hard to say, if the court has a lot of cases, it may take months to even get on the docket. Even if you get on the docket, mediation takes time.”
The small flame of hope just ignited was doused by a bucket of cold water.
She could only whisper to Lu Yunting again:
“You know people in the court, right? I remember attending a private banquet, there was a judge named something Zhou. Can you find someone and arrange it for us as soon as possible?”
Lu Yunting’s face was as black as the bottom of a pot, he asked in a low voice:
“You want me to go through the trouble of finding someone just to get a divorce early?”
Su Yiren pursed her lips, realizing it was indeed inappropriate.
Lu Yunting coldly surveyed this depressing place, becoming increasingly suffocated,
“You forgot why we snuck out early to handle the procedures? It’s because we didn’t want to make a fuss! Do you want the whole world to know that Lu Yunting is getting divorced, and that he even found someone to arrange it? Isn’t it embarrassing?!”
Su Yiren touched her forehead, she could already imagine how beautiful that scene would be.
“Then what do you say?”
Lu Yunting took a deep breath and said helplessly:
“Wait.”
The clerk heard a few of their whispers and seized the opportunity to say:
“If you’re not in a hurry, it’s faster to come back and handle the procedures in a month.” After saying this, he realized something was wrong and quickly changed his words,
“I hope that in this month, you two can both calm down, talk calmly and peacefully, what couple doesn’t argue? What’s the point of getting divorced over everything!”
Lu Yunting stood up with a cold face and said to the stiff clerk:
“Thank you.”
The clerk didn’t notice the dissatisfaction in his tone and even nodded and smiled at him,
“You’re welcome.”
Lu Yunting: “…”
He was in a bad mood early in the morning.
The two walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau gate one after the other. The sunshine outside was just right, pouring down in large swathes, making people squint their eyes.
Su Yiren put on her tinted sunglasses, took out her phone and was about to dial a number, but a call came in directly.
Si Hong’s gentle voice came through the phone, calming the anxiety in her heart.
“Were you going to call me?” he asked.
Su Yiren’s lips curled up,
“Yes, what a coincidence.”
“Come over.” Si Hong’s voice was filled with laughter, “I’m already here.”
Su Yiren looked around in surprise and saw a low-key black car parked not far away. Si Hong was leaning against the door, waving to her.
The unease in her heart dissipated slightly. Su Yiren was about to step down the stairs when she suddenly heard Lu Yunting’s sarcastic laugh,
“It seems like you’re planning to get married again right after the divorce, but unfortunately, your plan is going to fail.”
Su Yiren turned her head and saw that Lu Yunting’s gaze was also fixed on the young man not far away. His brow furrowed slightly, his eyes filled with disgust and disdain.
Su Yiren was about to say something, but then a familiar female voice rang out,
“Ating!”
A red sports car stopped right in front of them. Ouyang Shasha got out of the car and walked over gracefully.
She glanced at the expressions on their faces, her eyes lit up with joy, and she smiled at Lu Yunting,
“Are you done? I’m here to pick you up!”
Lu Yunting pursed his lips and said nothing, but Su Yiren laughed with the same sarcastic tone,
“It seems like Mr. Lu is also planning to get married again right after the divorce.”
Lu Yunting’s chest instantly filled with anger, he frowned and looked, but Su Yiren smiled politely and distantly,
“Unfortunately, your plan is going to fail too.”
After saying that, she didn’t look at them again, she went straight down the stairs and walked towards Si Hong.
Lu Yunting watched Su Yiren’s back as she walked further and further away, his heart felt like it was being squeezed, making it difficult to breathe.
He pursed his lips, coldly watching the young man smile at Su Yiren, then politely opened the car door, his eyes almost spitting fire.
This is the reason she wants a divorce, isn’t it?
Last night she was still pretending to be pitiful in front of her grandfather, trying to get him to stop their divorce; but now, she’s already in another man’s arms.
Heh…
This woman is really infuriating!
As soon as Su Yiren got in the car, she noticed that Si Hong was also getting in, sitting next to her.
She asked in surprise, “Why are you sitting in the back?”
She remembered that Si Hong always sat in the passenger seat or drove himself, he had never sat in the back with her.
Si Hong smiled, “It’s convenient to report to you.”
The moment the car door closed, Su Yiren’s gaze fell on Lu Yunting, who was standing motionless on the stairs, his face dark and gloomy. She suddenly realized why Si Hong was doing this.
Su Yiren smiled helplessly:
“There’s no need, he doesn’t care at all.”
“Really.” Si Hong nonchalantly rolled down the window, his eyebrows raised slightly, as he gave Lu Yunting a provocative smile.
Lu Yunting’s anger instantly reached its peak…
