Chapter 47

This really suited Officer Wei’s personality. As Lu Jiu was about to ask another question, she heard footsteps running up the stairs. 

She then realized that they were still standing in the stairwell: “Let’s head upstairs first.” 

Wei Shian silently sighed: “Okay.” 

Lu Jiu had attended several weddings before, and they were usually quite similar. 

But this time was very different. 

Lin Lingfa, the forensic doctor, looked stunning in her pure white wedding dress. 

The groom, wearing a crisp police uniform, had a stern face, but he had been smiling happily since they met. 

The officiant, Liu Hai, was the head of the Criminal Investigation Brigade. He maintained a smile throughout, without any airs, and even joked with Lu Jiu when they met, having long thought that the couple was well-matched. 

What surprised Lu Jiu the most was that Wei Shian told her the videographers and photographers were technical experts from the criminal investigation department. 

Although, from certain angles, they were also professionals. 

In short, it was a very special wedding. 

Lu Jiu felt honored to witness it in person. 

Even after getting into her boyfriend’s car, she still had a smile on her face: “…Just now, Luo Wei told me that a lot of people saw all the police at the hotel and came over asking if something big happened. It was so funny. Oh, and remember to give me a copy of the photos taken…” 

“Sure.” Wei Shian’s lips curved up as he leaned over to fasten his seatbelt.

They were a dozen apple-flavored gummy candies. Lu Jiu reached out to take them: “Why are there so many? Aren’t there only two candies in a wedding candy bag?” With two people, they should have only four small bags of wedding candies, total eight pieces, and she had already eaten three earlier. 

Wei Shian: “I saw you liked them, so I took a few from Old Wei’s candy bag.” 

The motion of Lu Jiu putting the candies into her bag froze. 

This wasn’t just a few pieces. 

It seemed like most of the apple gummies from their group had been taken, right? 

So awkward… but also a bit happy. 

Wei Shian had work to do later. 

After dropping Lu Jiu off at the flower shop, he stayed for just a few minutes before leaving. 

As soon as he left, Fang Jingjing, who had been out to the restroom, returned.
