After the Millennium Flower Demon Villainess Awakens Chapter 47

Chapter 47

This really suited Officer Wei’s personality. As Lu Jiu was about to ask another question, she heard footsteps running up the stairs.

She then realized that they were still standing in the stairwell: “Let’s head upstairs first.”

Wei Shian silently sighed: “Okay.”

Lu Jiu had attended several weddings before, and they were usually quite similar.

But this time was very different.

Lin Lingfa, the forensic doctor, looked stunning in her pure white wedding dress.

The groom, wearing a crisp police uniform, had a stern face, but he had been smiling happily since they met.

The officiant, Liu Hai, was the head of the Criminal Investigation Brigade. He maintained a smile throughout, without any airs, and even joked with Lu Jiu when they met, having long thought that the couple was well-matched.

What surprised Lu Jiu the most was that Wei Shian told her the videographers and photographers were technical experts from the criminal investigation department.

Although, from certain angles, they were also professionals.

In short, it was a very special wedding.

Lu Jiu felt honored to witness it in person.

Even after getting into her boyfriend’s car, she still had a smile on her face: “…Just now, Luo Wei told me that a lot of people saw all the police at the hotel and came over asking if something big happened. It was so funny. Oh, and remember to give me a copy of the photos taken…”

“Sure.” Wei Shian’s lips curved up as he leaned over to fasten his seatbelt.

Despite his actions, the smiling Lu Jiu instantly stiffened and dared not move.

It was… so close.

So close that with the slightest movement, she could touch him.

“Click”

It was the sound of the seatbelt being fastened.

Lu Jiu unconsciously held her breath, hoping it would mask the frantic beating of her heart.

“Should I drop you off at the flower shop first?” Wei Shian leaned back into his seat, naturally lowered his own seatbelt.

“Mm…” Lu Jiu blinked, only then realizing she had been holding her breath.

Seeing his girlfriend looking uncomfortable, Wei Shian wanted to reach out and pat her head but was afraid that his earlier closeness might have reached her limit.

Thinking of something, he pulled a handful of candies from his pocket and handed them to her.

They were a dozen apple-flavored gummy candies. Lu Jiu reached out to take them: “Why are there so many? Aren’t there only two candies in a wedding candy bag?” With two people, they should have only four small bags of wedding candies, total eight pieces, and she had already eaten three earlier.

Wei Shian: “I saw you liked them, so I took a few from Old Wei’s candy bag.”

The motion of Lu Jiu putting the candies into her bag froze.

This wasn’t just a few pieces.

It seemed like most of the apple gummies from their group had been taken, right?

So awkward… but also a bit happy.

Wei Shian had work to do later.

After dropping Lu Jiu off at the flower shop, he stayed for just a few minutes before leaving.

As soon as he left, Fang Jingjing, who had been out to the restroom, returned.

Seeing her childhood friend, Fang Jingjing instinctively looked around: “Where’s your Officer Wei?”

Lu Jiu: “He just left, went back to work.”

“Wow… he works so hard?” After expressing her surprise, Fang Jingjing looked regretful: “What bad luck. I came to the shop in the morning and Lanlan said you had just left. Now I don’t see him again. What does your Officer Wei look like?”

Lu Jiu took a sip of water from her cup: “I’ll introduce you to him in a few days.”

Fang Jingjing waved her hand, saying she didn’t need to get too familiar with her friend’s partner: “Just have a meal and get to know his face. But I heard from Lanlan and Xiaoyuan that Officer Wei is very handsome.”

Lu Jiu pretended to lift her chin with pride: “Of course, I’m with him, so he must be good-looking.”

“Such a shameless thing to say, but… haha, I like it.” Fang Jingjing laughed and leaned on her friend, laughing for a while before clutching her stomach and moving on to another topic: “Just now, Li Juan contacted me. She’s our class monitor from the second year. Remember her? She said since everyone’s back for the New Year, she wants to organize a class reunion.”

Lu Jiu remembered, but was puzzled: “Why another class reunion?”

Fang Jingjing: “If you’re interested, you can attend one every few days… They don’t have your phone number, so they asked me to invite you. What do you think? Will you go?”

Lu Jiu: “I won’t go. You shouldn’t go either.”

“I was interested before, but now that you say that, I won’t go either. It seems pointless.”

“It’s always been pointless.”

“Yeah, it seems like everyone has changed a lot. Either showing off or bragging, it’s really annoying… Forget it, let’s not talk about that. Let’s chat about something else. Is dating fun?”

Lu Jiu pushed Fang Jingjing’s face away as she leaned in: “What’s so fun about it? He’s been busy lately. We just met today at his colleague’s wedding. You know that.”

Fang Jingjing: “That’s not how it works. I see Officer Wei seems quite proactive in relationships. Look, just a few days in and he’s already introduced you to his friends? … So, have you two kissed?”

How did the topic shift to this? Lu Jiu was speechless: “How could that be? We’ve only been together for three days!”

“What’s impossible about that? You’ve even met the parents.”

“That doesn’t count as meeting the parents. Lu Jiu averted her gaze awkwardly.

“No way? You really met the parents?” She had only been joking before.

“Shh, Fang Jingjing, keep your voice down… What are you thinking all day? I just… saw pictures of his family when he asked me to accompany him for New Year gifts a few days ago…”

Fang Jingjing’s inner detective was triggered: “Wow, Officer Wei is something else. Don’t lie to me, you two must have kissed.”

“Really not. We haven’t even held hands.”

“Really? Did I overestimate Officer Wei? But… hey, if he doesn’t kiss you, we can take the initiative.”

“Easy to say. If it were up to you, I wonder if you’d be the one to take the initiative.”

Fang Jingjing lifted her chin proudly: “If I liked someone, I’d have made a move already. I’d even kiss them if they’re close to me. It’s up to me how I want to touch… mmm…”

Lu Jiu’s face turned red, and she manually muted the conversation.
