Bai Jinyou paused for a moment, then looked up to see Si Xiang standing not far away. She was wearing a moon-white high-slit cheongsam, which accentuated her seductive figure.

“What brings you here so late?”

Si Xiang replied truthfully, “I just got a call from Yunyun. She asked me to come over and chat.”

She slowly walked towards him. “Uncle Bai, is Yunyun upstairs?”

“She’s not here. She went out for something.” Bai Jinyou was in a bad mood and had no intention of keeping her. “You can come again next time.”

But Si Xiang didn’t move. Even though Bai Yun wasn’t here, wasn’t he still here?

She took out her phone, ready to ask Bai Yun about the situation, when she received a message from her.

“Sorry, my manager suddenly called me, and I have to go to the company. I’m not sure when I’ll be back. Let’s reschedule next time.”

Si Xiang felt a little unhappy but didn’t blame her for it.

“It’s fine. Work is important. Yunyun should focus on her work, but she must take care of her health. Once she’s done, she should rest early. Don’t stay up too late.”

Sitting in the car by the roadside, Bai Yun replied to her, “Okay, I’ll try to be back before midnight.”

After reading her message, Si Xiang smiled faintly, clearly pleased with her response.

It was only a little past nine. She still had two to three hours, so Si Xiang put away her phone and walked to the other side of Bai Jinyou. “Uncle Bai, I was in a hurry when I came over and haven’t had dinner yet. Would it be alright if I join you for a meal?”

Bai Jinyou glanced at her a few times before instructing the butler, “Get Miss Si a set of chopsticks and a bowl.”

“Yes, sir.” The butler immediately complied.

Si Xiang happily sat down beside him. Although her cover was almost blown, as long as Bai Yun didn’t confront her outright, she still had a chance to succeed in taking down the Bai family.

And she had to act fast. She didn’t have much time left.

The person she wanted to take revenge on first was Bai Jinyou, then Bai Yun, and finally, she planned to take control of the entire Bai family fortune.

“Uncle Bai, I’ve decided to go along with what you said the other day.” Si Xiang continued, “I’ve resigned from my job and can report to your company anytime to become your secretary.”

She had originally planned to take her time, but the current situation didn’t allow for that.

“Heh.” Bai Jinyou chuckled lightly, “What’s this? Are you no longer afraid of your good friend finding out?”

“I was worried about Yunyun misunderstanding me.” Si Xiang said, “But I’ve thought it through now. Being your secretary is nothing to be ashamed of, and I can learn a lot from you, Uncle Bai.”

Becoming Bai Jinyou’s secretary was the first step. Stealing confidential information from the Bai Group was the second step. Punishing Bai Jinyou for abandoning his wife and child was the third step.

“If Yunyun had half of your gentleness and quick thinking, she’d be much better off,” Bai Jinyou sighed, “You can go to the company tomorrow and start.”

“Okay, Uncle Bai.” Si Xiang’s smile was dazzling. “You’re so kind, like a father. If only you were my father.”

“If you want to call me that, it’s not impossible,” Bai Jinyou raised an eyebrow, “Come here.”

Bai Yun’s fingers tightened into a fist. She didn’t want to compare herself to Si Xiang, and she certainly didn’t want to!

Watching their intimate interaction felt like a thorn was embedded in her heart, both painful and disgusting.

She closed the surveillance screen and slammed her fist on the steering wheel. The horn blared loudly, snapping her out of her daze.

She looked up and saw her enraged reflection in the rearview mirror, instantly calming herself.

What was she angry about?

Si Xiang’s deliberate deception to get close, Bai Jinyou’s scummy, unfaithful nature—both of them were no good. Wasn’t it better to watch them tear each other apart like dogs?

And she had also avoided further deceit from Si Xiang while protecting the Bai family’s business.

So, there was nothing for her to be angry about. She didn’t need to be angry.

Let this farce end here today.

“No, I can’t today. Yunyun said she’ll be back tonight.”

Hearing the voices in the room, Bai Yun couldn’t take it anymore. She pushed the door open. “What are you doing?!”

Both Si Xiang and Bai Jinyou froze, clearly not expecting her to come back at this moment.

Si Xiang hurried over to explain, “Yunyun, it’s not what you think. We didn’t do anything.”

“Then what were you doing in the room?!” Bai Yun sneered, “Don’t tell me you were just talking.”

Si Xiang quickly defended herself, “We were just talking. I had some questions for Uncle Bai…”

“Do you think I’ll believe you?” Bai Yun scoffed, “Do you still think you can deceive me at this point? Haven’t you two already been in cahoots?”

“Bai Yun! How can you speak like that?!” Bai Jinyou said coldly. “Since you’ve found out, let me tell you. I’m pursuing Si Xiang. She’s going to be my girlfriend, so you’d better show her some respect.”

He expected Bai Yun to erupt in anger, but to his surprise, she remained unnervingly calm, even laughing.

“You really have no standards,” she mocked. “Do you know that this Si Xiang is not the same Si Xiang?”

Bai Jinyou frowned. “What do you mean by that?”

Si Xiang’s heart suddenly raced with fear, an overwhelming sense of unease washing over her. She quickly rushed to Bai Yun’s side and grabbed her arm. “Yunyun, let’s go outside. I’ll explain everything slowly.”

“What’s left to explain? Si Xiang.” Bai Yun pulled her arm away and stared directly at her. “Maybe I should be calling you Bai Run.”

Her voice was cold, and her gaze no longer held the warmth and affection it once did. Instead, all that remained was growing disgust and anger.

Si Xiang’s expression cracked, her voice trembling, “Yunyun, you…”

“I already know, you don’t need to explain any further, and you don’t need to deceive me anymore!” Bai Yun took out the documents and photos, throwing them toward the two of them. “If you want to explain, go talk to my dad. Tell him how you went from being a man to having gender reassignment surgery and becoming a woman. I’m sure he’ll be very interested.”

Si Xiang, “Yunyun…”

She staggered, not expecting Bai Yun had really investigated her, and that she would make a move like this at such a moment. She had pierced through the thin veil of their deception—did Bai Yun want to sever ties with her now?

Didn’t Bai Yun care about her feelings? Didn’t she care about her father?

One of the photos had landed on Bai Jinyou’s face. He angrily took it off and demanded, “Bai Yun, what is this nonsense?”

“What do you mean by saying this at such a late hour?”

Obviously, he hadn’t processed the massive amount of information yet.

Bai Yun wore a smug smile, “The literal meaning. Just look at the documents on the floor, and you’ll know.”

She continued to smile, “Oh, by the way, Dad, weren’t you always wanting a son? Well, I have to congratulate you. The person standing in front of you is your son, whom you abandoned and lost years ago.”

Bai Jinyou quickly glanced at the documents, and the cracks in his face grew wider, as if he had just swallowed something unbearable. His entire body began to tremble uncontrollably, and he eventually fainted.
