Ji Xiangnian was processing the documents sent to him by his assistant. There were still some finishing touches on the recent cooperation between the Ji family and the government of Local A. Xiangyi went to follow up on the progress and was quite busy.
So some of the documents that the company usually asks Yi to handle are now sent to him by his assistant.
He was used to handling these documents, and he was familiar with the interests and balances involved.
It was almost done soon.
Under the cold white light of the study, Ji Xiangnian lowered his eyes, the smooth lines of his face were clearly visible under the light, and he slowly opened the last file.
The slender fingers took the high-quality pen and were about to sign their name on the white document, but the sound coming from the floor-to-ceiling window interrupted Ji Xiangnian’s actions.
This sound, someone is swimming in the pool.
His brows twitched, and he gently put down his pen. The weather in October was not hot, but rather cool and crisp, even a little chilly.
The housekeeper and aunt at home basically don’t go swimming, so the swimming sound just now should have been made by one of Xiang Zhou and Fang Ning.
Ji Xiangnian lowered his eyes slightly, capped the pen, slowly stood up, walked to the balcony, and looked at the swimming pool.
The person in the swimming pool was not Ji Xiangzhou, but Fang Ning. She seemed to have been swimming for quite a long time.
She leaned against the wall to rest. The dark blue wall tiles made her rosy body look even more beautiful.
She wiped the water off her face with her hands.
He threw his wet hair behind his body with impatient movements, as if he had something on his mind. Even though he was standing quite far away, Ji Xiangnian could still sense that something was not right with Fang Ning’s mood.
Seeing this, Ji Xiangnian’s eyes darkened. He adjusted his glasses and calmly withdrew his gaze. His face was half bright and half dark under the light, making it difficult to see his emotions.
Ji Xiangnian stepped back, sat back at the table, picked up the pen and tried to continue working.
The moment the pen tip touched the paper, Fang Ning’s figure emerged in Ji Xiangnian’s mind, and his mood, which had just calmed down, seemed to be stirred up again as if by a breeze.
Ji Xiangnian tightened his grip on the pen, but before he could sort out his thoughts, he instinctively put the pen down.
Ji Xiangnian’s eyes darkened slightly. After a pause, he put down his pen, stood up and went downstairs.
The footsteps gradually faded away, and only a pen and a table full of documents were left in the quaintly decorated study.
———
Fang Ning swam three rounds in the swimming pool, and the anxiety in her heart subsided a lot. The autumn night was a little cool, and the chill lingered on her skin.
Fang Ning shrank her body and swam to the stairs to the shore, but out of the corner of her eye she caught a glimpse of the culprit slowly walking towards her.
Ji Xiangnian walked steadily, with a slender figure, and walked slowly.
When he came to me, he stretched out his hand with distinct finger bones and said in a gentle voice, “Why are you swimming at this time?”
Fang Ning didn’t react for a moment, staring blankly at the hand that reached out.
Ji Xiangnian directly pulled her arm and pulled Fang Ning out of the water. The cold air invaded her skin, and Fang Ning hadn’t reacted yet. Then a large pure white towel fell on her body, isolating the cold air from all sides. She pulled the towel and tried to wrap herself in it: “Thank you.”
Fang Ning put on her shoes and walked slowly towards the locker room. Ji Xiangnian followed her, the two walking shoulder to shoulder.
Suddenly, Ji Xiangnian stopped and asked tentatively: “Yes, something happened?”
As soon as you walked here and saw Fang Ning for the first time, you noticed that something was wrong with her mood. Her usually bright eyes and brows now had a bit more sadness.
Fang Ning was surprised at Ji Xiangnian’s observation skills. She felt complicated and mixed with an indescribable sadness.
She can’t say it’s because of you.
Now it seems like she has trapped herself.
She believes that she has always been a rational person. Whether it is work, love, or family, she has her own scale in her heart.
Whether it is her future significant other or boyfriend, she hopes to have the initiative in her own hands rather than being the passive one.
Ji Xiangnian was a man she could never control. She did like men older than herself, but Ji Xiangnian joined the Ji family’s company before graduating from university and had been immersed in the business world for more than a decade. He was a master strategist, so she took her identity very seriously.
But her emotions were so out of control. To be honest, it was the first time she felt so overwhelmed. She was even more confused than when she first entered the book.
“Maybe you need a listener.”
Ji Xiangnian’s steady voice rang in Fang Ning’s ears. His tone was sincere and his deep voice made people feel at ease.
Fang Ning looked at Ji Xiangnian in astonishment. Ji Xiangnian was seven or eight years older than her, and was superior to her in both interpersonal relationships and life experience.
Although my troubles come from him, he may not be a bad confidant and guide.
Fang Ning’s eyelashes drooped slightly, and her tone was gentle:
”Yes, I have something. I encountered something that slowed me down. I seem to be stuck in it.”
Ji Xiangnian was delighted that Fang Ning could tell him these things. In front of him was the greenhouse garden of the villa, where the flowers grew freely in a comfortable environment.
Ji Xiangnian stared at the sea of flowers in front of him and said calmly, “Fang Ning, look at this sea of flowers. They look very beautiful, competing with each other for beauty. A transparent glass cover isolates them from the harsh environment.”
”But if the glass covers are removed, most of these flowers will not be able to withstand the severe cold outside.”
Ji Xiangnian turned around and fixed his eyes on Fang Ning:
”Of course, it’s the same for people too. You are you. Don’t hesitate because of anyone or anything. Don’t lock yourself up and turn yourself into a greenhouse flower.”
“Pretty, but so fragile.”
Ji Xiangnian is indeed a very good guide. He speaks calmly and steadily, and plays the role of a guide very well.
Of course Fang Ning nodded after being guided, indicating that she understood!
She understands!
Be herself and don’t let little things affect her plans and decisions.
What she had to do was to kill the romantic feelings she had towards Ji Xiangnian in her heart, and then wait for the day when the contract would end.
Take the money and leave!
Fang Ning raised her eyebrows slightly, glanced sideways and said to Ji Xiangnian: “Thank you, Mr. Ji, I know what to do.”
Fang Ning’s sudden action caused Ji Xiangnian to pause for a moment.
Fang Ning’s dimples were faintly visible. She had just come out of the swimming pool. The pink swimsuit she was wearing vaguely outlined her beautiful figure. Her slightly raised eyebrows carried an indescribable temptation.
Ji Xiangnian’s breathing was a little disordered. He turned around calmly and walked towards the swimming pool.
Fang Ning was puzzled: “Where are you going?”
Ji Xiangnian: “I suddenly feel like swimming.”
