ATMIWPT Chapter 10 Smart Fish

Qin Muyao’s small mouth parted slightly in surprise. She hadn’t expected the punishment to be so severe.  

But then again, it was well deserved.  

A life for a life.  

What exactly had Xiao Mu done to provoke Fu Kuangze?  

Why had he wanted her dead?  

Deep in thought, Qin Muyao furrowed her brows before suggesting, “Since this is explicitly forbidden by law, why don’t we take this opportunity to report him to the Emperor?”  

That way, they wouldn’t have to waste a single soldier, yet they could easily take him down—while avenging Xiao Mu at the same time.  

Fu Hanzhou glanced at her, his voice calm and unhurried. “It won’t work.”  

Because his Father Emperor carried a guilty conscience, and no matter what, he wouldn’t truly punish Fu Kuangze.  

Hearing this, Qin Muyao felt a wave of disappointment.  

So much for “the law applies to the Emperor as it does to commoners”—what a joke!  

Now that the culprit was identified, the next step should have been to bring him to justice.  

But Fu Kuangze had someone shielding him.  

What could they do now?  

Still, since she had accomplished her mission, her role was over.  

Qin Muyao lifted her face, eyes shining with expectation as she looked at Fu Hanzhou, her voice pitiful. “Your Highness, since I’ve completed my task, shouldn’t you fulfill your promise now?”  

Help her break the curse.  

Free her from the High Priest’s control.  

Whenever she recited a spell, she would suffer excruciating headaches.  

Fu Hanzhou cast her a glance and responded indifferently, “Not yet.”  

Qin Muyao’s head shot up, her face full of displeasure. “Why not? Don’t tell me you’re planning to go back on your word?!”  

Seriously?!  

Was she, a grandmaster of metaphysics, actually being strung along like this?

Truly, a fallen tiger would be bullied by dogs.  

If she had found the Wangchuan Ledger, if her powers had not been sealed, would she have needed to beg Fu Hanzhou for help?  

Fu Hanzhou handed her a small box, his tone indifferent. “Inside is a medicine that can suppress your curse, but it won’t remove it completely.”  

Qin Muyao’s anger flared. What did he mean that it won’t remove it completely? Then what’s the damn point?!

She wanted to punch the man in front of her but knew she was no match for him.  

Fine. She would remember this. Once she regained her strength, she would make sure to settle this debt with Fu Hanzhou, this insufferable bastard.  

Reluctantly, she muttered, “Oh.”  

Fu Hanzhou’s eyes darkened slightly, his long phoenix-shaped eyes narrowing as he spoke in a slow, deliberate tone. “Find something for me, and once you do, I’ll remove the rest of the curse.”  

Qin Muyao looked up at him, realization dawning.  

So that was his plan—to split the ‘payment’ into two.  

Only after she completed his task would he be willing to lift the curse entirely.  

Forcing a smile, she said through clenched teeth, “Your Highness, you truly know how to calculate every bit of my worth, squeezing me dry to the last drop.”  

Fu Hanzhou merely cast her a glance and remained silent.  

He was waiting for her to make a decision.  

When living under someone else’s roof, one has no choice but to bow their head.  

After a brief internal struggle, she sighed and nodded. “Fine, I agree.”  

Satisfied, Fu Hanzhou nodded. “I prefer working with smart people. No, correction—smart fish.”  

Smart Fish · Qin Muyao: “…”  

Damn it!

You’re the fish! Your whole family is fish! 

How could such a shameless person exist?  

Was he even worse than her in being an unscrupulous scoundrel?!  

She had truly seen it all now.  

Expressionless, she warned, “Your Highness, this is the last time. I hope you keep your word and don’t go back on it.  

I expect the curse to be completely lifted—not just partially removed.”
