Chapter 94: Change of Mind
Wang Mu, who was solely driven by the desire for money, wouldn’t give up so easily. “You dead girl, get up! If you don’t give me the money, I’ll beat you to death!” Zheng Mu, hearing this, quickly stepped forward to pull Wang Mu. “Mother-in-law, don’t get excited, let’s talk calmly.” Wang Mu was finally calmed down, her eyes rolled, and she looked at Zheng Mu. “Mother-in-law, let’s go outside and talk.” Wang Mu pulled Zheng Mu and walked directly outside. As Zheng Mu left, she gestured to Zheng Chang Hua to accompany Wang Fang.
Zheng Chang Hua also heard the conversation between Wang Mu and Wang Fang. “Wang Fang, are you planning to keep this child?” Zheng Chang Hua asked, sitting on the stool beside the bed. Wang Fang opened her eyes and smiled bitterly. “No, a child who is not expected by his father, even if he is born, he will suffer. You also saw my mother, I was a child who wasn’t expected by her. I was like an invisible person at home every day. Don’t laugh at me, the money I used to go to the countryside was given by Bai Ling’s mother.” Zheng Chang Hua vaguely seemed to know about this. “Then what are your thoughts, anyway, I really don’t want this child.
” Wang Fang felt that Zheng Chang Hua was honest enough and didn’t hesitate anymore. “I’ll take care of the child, and I also need you to help me with something, I want to cut off ties with my family. I don’t want my life to be dragged down by my family in the future.” Zheng Chang Hua didn’t think twice and agreed. In his opinion, Wang Mu was greedy for money, as long as he gave her money, she would be willing. “Zheng Zhi Qing, after you finish this, I’ll give you a surprise.” Zheng Chang Hua didn’t take it seriously, he turned around and went to find Wang Mu. “Mom, what were you two talking about?” Wang Mu’s face lit up when she saw Zheng Chang Hua. “Son-in-law, your brother is getting married, can you give him some support?”
Zheng Chang Hua smiled slightly. “Sure, how about I give him one of his legs?” Zheng Chang Hua said this seriously. It directly scared the two old mothers. “Chang Hua, what are you talking about? You’re scaring people.” Zheng Mu quickly interrupted. Zheng Chang Hua didn’t take the bait. “I’ll give you 200 yuan, you and Wang Fang cut off ties, how about that?” Wang Mu’s eyes lit up when she heard 200 yuan, but she didn’t want to cut off ties. In Wang Mu’s mind, it was very simple, if she cut off ties, she wouldn’t have an excuse to ask her daughter to subsidize her son. “That wouldn’t be good, after all, she’s my own daughter…”
Zheng Chang Hua was too lazy to listen to Wang Mu’s hypocritical reasons. “190, 180, 170…” Wang Mu didn’t understand what Zheng Chang Hua meant by these numbers at first. When she finally understood, it had already dropped to 100. “No, no, no, 200 yuan, I’ll do it now.” Zheng Mu was shocked by her son’s actions. “She’s your daughter, your own, how can you give up your daughter for money?” Zheng Mu couldn’t understand, they were both her flesh and blood! But Wang Mu was absentminded. “Daughter is born for other people’s family, you see, she’s already in your family.
” Zheng Mu was almost choked to death by these words. “Son-in-law, I’ve written it, you see if there’s anything missing.” Zheng Chang Hua carefully looked at it for a while, and when he found no problems, he counted out 200 yuan. “Write me a receipt, this money is yours.” Wang Mu was a legal illiterate, she wrote whatever he told her to write.
Zheng Chang Hua collected both pieces of paper and went to find Wang Fang. Wang Mu got the money and didn’t care about Wang Fang anymore, she packed her luggage and was about to leave. “No, you’re leaving now, don’t you want to take a look at your daughter?” Zheng Mu quickly stopped Wang Mu. “No need, I’m going home, she’s yours now.” Wang Mu left in a very dashing manner. Looking at Wang Mu’s departing figure, Zheng Mu was filled with mixed emotions. “Wang Fang, I got the documents, take a look.” Wang Fang took the two pieces of paper, she was overjoyed, she had finally escaped from that blood-sucking family.
“Thank you, Zheng Chang Hua, I know you don’t want to marry me, we didn’t get a marriage certificate anyway, let’s pretend this ridiculous bribe never happened.” Zheng Chang Hua finally understood what the surprise Wang Fang was talking about. “Are you sure?” For Zheng Chang Hua, the surprise came too suddenly. But when he thought about Zeng Bai Ling already marrying someone else, he would marry whoever, he might as well just do it like this! “Wang Fang, since the wedding has already been held, then we are husband and wife.” Zheng Chang Hua looked at Wang Fang, who was puzzled, afraid that she would misunderstand, he quickly explained. “
We won’t get a marriage certificate, if you meet someone you like in the future, we’ll separate. We just got married today and we’re separating, I’m afraid that before we leave, we’ll be the biggest joke in this village.” Wang Fang understood Zheng Chang Hua’s concerns. Anyway, things were already like this, she was pregnant, the whole village knew, she didn’t care about being a fake couple for a few years. “I agree, then what should I tell your mother about the child?” Zheng Chang Hua was a little troubled by this question, his mother didn’t know what was going on, she valued this child so much. It seemed he still had to talk to his mother. “
Mom, what are you thinking, why do you have to make Wang Fang give birth to this child?” Zheng Mu was suddenly lost in her memories. Seeing that her mother didn’t speak, Zheng Chang Hua urged again. “Mom, talk!” Zheng Mu saw that she couldn’t hide it anymore. “Chang Hua, do you know why Mom only has you as a child?”
“Mom, what are you talking about?” Zheng Chang Hua was confused.
Zheng Mu took a deep breath and said, “Your father… he was a soldier. He died in a mission.”
Zheng Chang Hua was shocked. He had never heard his father’s story before.
“After your father died, I was pregnant with you. I was so scared. I didn’t know what to do. I thought I would never be able to raise you alone. But then, I thought about your father. He would want me to be strong. He would want me to raise you well. So I decided to keep you.”
Zheng Chang Hua looked at his mother with newfound respect. He had never realized how much she had sacrificed for him.
“I was so afraid of losing you. I was afraid that something would happen to you. That’s why I never wanted to have another child. I couldn’t bear the thought of losing another child.”
Zheng Chang Hua understood now. His mother’s obsession with Wang Fang’s child was rooted in her fear of losing another child.
“Mom, I understand now. I’m sorry I was so impatient.”
Zheng Mu smiled. “It’s okay, Chang Hua. I’m just glad you understand.”
“But Mom, what about Wang Fang? She doesn’t want this child.”
Zheng Mu sighed. “I know, Chang Hua. But I think she should keep the child. It’s a life. It’s a part of her. And maybe, just maybe, it can help her heal from her past.”
Zheng Chang Hua was still hesitant. He knew that Wang Fang was not ready to be a mother. But he also knew that his mother was set on this.
“Mom, what if she doesn’t want to keep the child? What if she’s not ready?”
Zheng Mu looked at her son with a sad expression. “Chang Hua, I know this is a difficult decision for her. But I think she needs to make it for herself. She needs to decide what’s best for her and her child.”
Zheng Chang Hua knew that his mother was right. He could only hope that Wang Fang would make the right decision. He knew that she was a strong woman, and he had faith that she would do what was best for herself.
“Mom, I’ll talk to her. I’ll try to understand her perspective.”
Zheng Mu smiled. “Thank you, Chang Hua. I know you will.”
Zheng Chang Hua went to find Wang Fang. He found her sitting by the window, staring out at the distant fields.
“Wang Fang,” he said softly.
Wang Fang turned to him, her eyes filled with sadness.
“I talked to my mother,” Zheng Chang Hua said. “She wants you to keep the child.”
Wang Fang sighed. “I know.”
“She’s worried about you,” Zheng Chang Hua said. “She wants you to be happy. She wants you to have a family.”
Wang Fang looked at him with a questioning expression. “Do you think I should keep the child?”
Zheng Chang Hua hesitated. He knew that this was a decision that only she could make.
“I think you should do what you feel is right,” he said. “I’ll support you, whatever you decide.”
Wang Fang nodded. She knew that Zheng Chang Hua was a good man. He was kind and compassionate, and he truly cared about her. She knew that she could trust him.
“Thank you, Zheng Chang Hua,” she said. “I’ll think about it.”
Zheng Chang Hua smiled. “Take your time. There’s no rush.”
He left Wang Fang to her thoughts. He knew that she would make the right decision. He had faith in her.
As he walked away, he couldn’t help but think about his own mother. He realized that she was a strong woman, a woman who had faced many challenges in her life. He was grateful for her love and support.
He knew that he would always be there for her, just as she had always been there for him. He was her son, and she was his mother. And their bond was unbreakable.
“Actually, you have an older sister. Back then, I was young and impulsive, and I argued with your father, which caused me to miscarry. I couldn’t save the child, and later I went everywhere seeking medical treatment, and that’s how you came to be. I’m afraid that after Wang Fang loses this child, she will never have her own children again!” Zheng Chang Hua didn’t know about this situation, but he really didn’t like Wang Fang, and he only felt disgust towards the unborn child. “Chang Hua, no matter what, you can’t ruin someone’s life! What happened between you and Wang Fang can’t be blamed solely on her. If you hadn’t given her the opportunity, she wouldn’t have…” Zheng Chang Hua lowered his head and thought about what his mother said.
“Mom, go talk to her! If she’s willing to give birth, then let her give birth!” Zheng Mu happily agreed and went to find Wang Fang. “Wang Fang, keep this child! No matter what Chang Hua says, or if you leave in the future, this child is not your burden.” Wang Fang was a little hesitant, she had already agreed to Zheng Chang Hua to abort the child. “Don’t mind that stinky boy, he’s too embarrassed to say it.” Wang Fang didn’t immediately agree, she just said, “I’ll think about it.” Ye Nan Yi had been outside the door the whole time, she was afraid that Wang Fang would change her mind. “Ye Zhi Qing, are you there?” After Ye Nan Yi came in, Zheng Mu went out.
“Ye Zhi Qing, I want to keep this child, it has nothing to do with his father, please help me tell Liu Zhi Qing, I was wrong before, I made things difficult for him.” Ye Nan Yi also understood Wang Fang’s thoughts, she had already cut off ties with her family, this child would be the only relative she was related to by blood. Thinking about this, Ye Nan Yi turned around and poured a glass of water from the table, adding some spiritual spring water to it.
