After Transmigrating Into The Big Shot’s Malicious Ex-Wife, I Was Pampered By The Whole Family Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Transmigrated into a Novel!

“If you’ve made your decision, we’ll go apply for the divorce later.”

In the room plastered with vintage propaganda posters, the man buttoned up his shirt, covering the scratch marks across his back. His tone was icy.

Jiang Yuman looked up at him—broad shoulders, a narrow waist, standing at least 185 cm tall. His face was lean and chiseled, with a straight nose bridge adorned by a small mole. He was even more handsome than the male celebrities from her time.

Jiang Yuman had just processed all the memories flooding her mind when her eyebrows arched slightly in surprise.

She had actually transmigrated into a novel!

Not just any novel, but the period romance “Seventies Sweet Marriage” she’d recently been reading – becoming the malicious ex-wife who shared both the name and identity of the male lead Fu Jingchen.

In the book, Fu Jingchen was a second-generation military officer from the compound, while the original host was merely an ordinary employee at the supply and marketing cooperative. Yet the original host, with ambitions far beyond her station, had relied on her beauty to scheme her way into becoming an official’s wife.

Terrified her stepmother might marry her off to some factory worker, she had exploited her slight acquaintance with Fu Haitang to meticulously ingratiate herself with Fu Jingchen, eventually marrying into the commander’s family.

Though Fu’s mother disapproved of the lowly background, since her son had consented, she reluctantly allowed Fu Jingchen to register the marriage with the original host.

After the wedding, the original host immediately quit her cooperative job to play the role of privileged official’s wife.

Fu Jingchen’s military assignments were dangerous by nature, so when she became pregnant with the Fu family heir, the entire household doted on her unconditionally.

But their good fortune didn’t last. After Fu Jingchen was wounded and forced into convalescent leave, his father Fu Wangshan was suspended with pending investigation. The family’s status collapsed overnight – they were even ordered to vacate the compound for rural exile!

Learning this, the original host panicked. She pressured Fu Jingchen into divorce, dismissing the family’s desperate promises to care for her and the child, stubbornly insisting on aborting her six-month pregnancy.

“Take care of me? When you’re all being exiled to suffer in the countryside? What could you possibly offer me now? Expect me to live in cow sheds eating cornbread while bearing your family’s child? Dream on!”

Fu’s mother brought out the household’s last remaining box of money and ration coupons, begging her to keep the baby.

The original host slapped the box away and sneered, “You think you can trick me off like some beggar? Even now you still want to drag me down with you! A family like yours deserves to die out!”

Without hesitation, she went to the hospital for the abortion.

A grandson—the very lifeline of the elderly.

Fu’s mother, already in poor health, collapsed upon learning of the abortion and passed away shortly after moving to the countryside.

Having lost both his grandson and his wife in quick succession, Fu’s father was devastated and became bedridden.

The original host showed not an ounce of remorse. Instead, she immediately published a notice severing all ties with the Fu family, terrified of being implicated in their downfall.

Not stopping there—in her desperation to avoid rural exile—she even reported the Fu family for allegedly hoarding money and ration coupons, ensuring their last remaining resources were confiscated.

Through these ruthless maneuvers, she successfully salvaged her reputation and secured her place in the city.

She had truly perfected the art of burning bridges after crossing them.

But the Fu family had been wrongfully accused. Two years later, Fu Wangshan would be rehabilitated, and Fu Jingchen would return to the military, distinguishing himself with extraordinary achievements. The Fu family would once again become the most sought-after household in the compound.

By then, Fu Jingchen would have already met the reborn female lead. Together, they would return to the capital, living in perfect harmony.

And the original host? Later, she would foolishly believe she had landed a wealthy playboy—only to discover he was a conman!

Worse still, this fraudster was secretly a human trafficker. After getting tired of her, he would sell her into the mountains, where she would meet an undignified end.

The contrast between their fates couldn’t have been more tragic.

Jiang Yuman rested a hand on her rounded belly, recalling how the original host had screamed, clawed, and even threatened suicide last night to force Fu Jingchen into agreeing to the divorce—leaving those scratch marks covering his body.

‘You foolish girl,’ she thought, ‘living the high life and still not satisfied? You had this ridiculously handsome husband and still wanted out!’

And leaving him was bad enough—but to kick them while they were down? Absolutely unforgivable.

When Jiang Yuman had read this part of the novel, she had been absolutely furious.

But now, in the blink of an eye, she had become this very malicious ex-wife – and this mess was hers to clean up. She had no intention of following in the original host’s footsteps. Staying by the male lead’s side and living a life of luxury sounded far more appealing!

With this in mind, Jiang Yuman forced a sweet smile and cooed, “Husband, I was just throwing a tantrum earlier. You didn’t actually take me seriously, did you?”

Fu Jingchen turned his head, exhaustion etched across his handsome features. “Jiang Yuman, there’s no need for this act. I agreed to the divorce, and I won’t go back on my word.”

From his perspective, the woman on the bed was breathtaking – her long hair cascading like a waterfall, her beauty as striking as the first bloom of a peony, delicate and radiant. For a fleeting moment, his heartbeat stuttered. But then his lips pressed into a thin line. What use was beauty?

This incident had laid bare the true nature of the woman beside him. Looking back, their marriage had been built on her ulterior motives from the start. Even if there had been brief moments of happiness, it didn’t change the fact that she was vain and self-serving at her core.

And yet…

Fu Jingchen’s gaze lowered, settling on Jiang Yuman’s slightly rounded abdomen.

No matter what happened between them as adults, the child was innocent.

The joy he’d felt when first learning he would become a father remained vivid in his memory—how eagerly he had anticipated this child’s arrival. Even now, he often found himself gently pressing against her belly, feeling those tiny kicks and movements.

With these thoughts weighing on him, Fu Jingchen looked down at Jiang Yuman, the usual cold indifference in his striking features softening into something pleading.

“For the sake of our marriage—and because my parents can’t bear any more shocks right now—please don’t abort the child.”

“I’m begging you.”

That look struck Jiang Yuman straight to the heart. In the original plot, Fu Jingchen had made this very plea, but how had the original host responded?

She had pointed at his nose and called him a “drowning dog,” sneered that he was “a toad lusting after swan meat”—delusional even in their dire circumstances.

She had declared coldly: “Let me make this clear—I’m going straight to the hospital for an abortion. This pregnancy has been nothing but suffering, and I never wanted it anyway!”

Those very words had shattered Fu Jingchen completely. Worse still, Fu’s mother had overheard them at the door—the shock triggering a fatal heart attack.

With the novel’s cautionary tale fresh in her mind, Jiang Yuman wasn’t foolish enough to repeat those mistakes. Why abandon a top-tier husband and make life harder for herself?

As a modern woman, she had no problem “lying flat”—waiting patiently for the Fu family’s rehabilitation would guarantee her a worry-free future.

Besides, a six-month-old baby was already so developed. Even vicious tigers don’t harm their own cubs!

With this thought, she said firmly: “I was just throwing a tantrum before. This is our child—of course I won’t get rid of it!”

Fu Jingchen stared at her in silence.

Ever since the family’s downfall, Jiang Yuman had been making endless scenes, even threatening suicide to force a divorce.

How could she suddenly claim it had all just been a temper tantrum after just one night?

Fu Jingchen didn’t know what game she was playing, but hearing her willingness to keep the child sparked a faint glimmer of hope in him.

No matter what, for this family struck by sudden misfortune, the child was now their greatest comfort.

After all, with the Fu family at rock bottom—and no one possessing the ability to foresee the future—there was no telling when they might recover.

Fu Jingchen pressed his lips together, about to speak—

But before he could utter a word, a sudden voice rang in both their ears—

[System activated: “Villainess’s Redemption” mission initiated.]

[Primary Objective: Prevent the Fu family’s tragedy. Current progress: 0%]

[Warning: Failure to complete tasks will result in restoration of original plot events.]

Jiang Yuman’s eyes widened imperceptibly. A system?!

Meanwhile, Fu Jingchen frowned slightly, glancing around the room. “Did you hear that just now?”

Jiang Yuman blinked innocently. “Hear what?”

The voice spoke again—this time to her alone:

[Host, please note: The male lead seems to have faintly detected the system’s presence. Proceed with caution.]

She swallowed. Perfect. Now I have to fix this family AND keep a system secret from an overly perceptive husband?

Outside, the first light of dawn crept through the window—marking the beginning of a very long road to redemption.
