Chapter 25 Did He Bully You Last Night?
Zhang, the head accountant, frowned, his eyes surrounded by dark circles, “I’ve sent people to search everywhere, but they haven’t found anything.”
Mrs. Zhang glared at him, “You can’t even catch a thief! You’re useless!”
Zhang, the head accountant, looked even worse. He stood up angrily, pointed at her and shouted, “If you’re so useful, go catch him! So many things in the mansion, the thief took them all in one night! He’s not a thief, he’s a god!”
Mrs. Zhang cried even harder, “It’s all your fault, who told you to do those things that go against your conscience! Do we deserve this kind of retribution?”
Zhang, the head accountant, was even more unconvinced, “What do you mean I did things that go against my conscience? You’ve done plenty too! How many maids in the mansion have you beaten to death!”
Zhang, the head accountant, was a man this Bai family miss had seduced from other women, so she didn’t trust him. Whenever a maid got close to Zhang, the head accountant, she would beat her to death.
She didn’t even consider that this old man wasn’t worth it. She just relied on her wealth and didn’t care about human life.
Just as they were arguing, the people who had gone to the warehouse to get the silver came back, “Master, the warehouse is also empty!”
Zhang, the head accountant, was shocked. He questioned the servants, and finally heard that the warehouse had been robbed. His legs felt like they had been cut off, and he fell to the ground with a thud.
Then, several more servants came to deliver messages.
“Master! The rice warehouse has been robbed!”
“Master! The shops are all empty! The goods in the warehouse are all gone!”
“Master! The horses in the backyard are gone!”
The servants’ voices echoed in Zhang, the head accountant’s ears. He felt dizzy, and finally, his back straightened, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted.
“Master!”
The mansion was in chaos.
The Bai family mansion, which had been so glorious a few days ago, became desolate in an instant.
As the sun rose higher, Chu Chenyin slowly woke up from her sleep. When she opened her eyes, she saw Fu Yanting’s face.
Wait, how did he get in my bed?!
Chu Chenyin blinked and looked at Fu Yanting again.
Fu Yanting’s sleeping face was much gentler than when she saw him during the day. His hair was slightly curled, casually resting on either side of the pillow. His long eyelashes drooped, like a statue of ancient Greece in a glass window.
Chu Chenyin moved back slightly, only then did she realize that she was resting her head on Fu Yanting’s hair and arm, embraced by his warm and strong chest.
Chu Chenyin was startled and quickly sat up, praying in her heart that she hadn’t sleepwalked and done anything out of line last night.
She quickly pulled back the blanket and looked down at herself. Seeing that her clothes were intact, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, nothing happened, otherwise, she would have to be responsible to the man beside her.
Speaking of which, although nothing happened last night, she actually slept for several hours with her head resting on his hair.
Did Fu Yanting stay in that position for those few hours, not moving at all?
He’s really amazing.
Chu Chenyin sighed in her heart, quickly got out of bed, took off her night clothes, and changed into her usual attire.
At this time, Fu Yanting also woke up. He rubbed his eyes and looked at Chu Chenyin, “You’re awake.”
Chu Chenyin quickly fastened the last few buttons, “General, you continue to sleep, I’ll go out and help.”
She said that and quickly turned to leave.
She had important things to do today. She had to ask Zhang, the head accountant, for the fifty dou of rice in advance.
Chu Chenyin strode to the front room. Mrs. Fu and Qing’er, mother and daughter, had already prepared the food.
They saw Chu Chenyin sleeping until noon before coming out of the room, and their eyes were different.
They all smiled with curved eyes, secretly giggling.
“Chenyin, come, sit down. There’s soup here, have some.” Mrs. Fu helped her sit down, holding her hand and stammering, “That, last night, did Yanting… did he bully you?”
Chu Chenyin picked up the bone soup in front of her and took a sip, “No, Mother, why are you suddenly asking this?”
Mrs. Fu breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, “My son has been a scoundrel since he was a child, he doesn’t know his own strength. I was afraid he might hurt you…”
Hurt? Could it be that he has a tendency towards domestic violence?
Chu Chenyin was stunned for a moment, picked up a large white steamed bun and took a bite, “Mother, don’t worry, he can’t bully me.”
If he dared to hit her, she would definitely shoot him.
Mrs. Fu looked at her daughter-in-law, who seemed weak but was more resilient than ordinary women, and liked her even more, “That’s good!”
At this time, Qing’er came over and whispered to Mrs. Fu, “Madam, I told you you were overthinking. Although the eldest master is usually unruly, he listens to the young mistress. You can rest assured, he knows his limits.”
Mrs. Fu whispered back, “I don’t know about my son. With his physique, if he really gets carried away, my precious daughter-in-law might fall apart!”
Her voice was low, but Chu Chenyin still heard it.
She finally realized that the “bullying” Mrs. Fu was talking about was that kind of meaning. The steamed bun in her mouth almost choked her.
Just then, Fu Yanting suddenly walked in and called out to her, “Chenyin, is this yours?”
Chu Chenyin swallowed the steamed bun in her mouth and looked up. She saw him holding her lace bra in his hand. Yes, it was her D-cup underwear, and it was black.
