Chapter 109: Were You Tired Last Night?
“Err… good morning, Yagi-kun,” greeted Ninomiya’s mother, who was standing at the door, slightly taken aback before smiling and blinking her eyes. “Did you… stay here last night?”
“Um… yes,” Yagi Miyuki replied, sweating profusely. He couldn’t believe his luck – just after spending a night in Ninomiya-senpai’s bed, he was caught red-handed by her mother… a big problem indeed.
Facing Ninomiya’s mother, who in every aspect, from looks to demeanor, seemed to be cut from the same cloth as Ninomiya-senpai, Yagi Miyuki felt overwhelmed. Dealing with one Ninomiya was hard enough, now there was her mother too…
“Well…” Ninomiya’s mother continued, lifting the bag in her hand, “When I called Homura earlier to ask if she wanted me to bring breakfast, she asked for two portions. So it was you here, Yagi-kun.”
Yagi Miyuki’s face fell as he slowly shifted his gaze, finally resting on the food boxes in Ninomiya’s mother’s hand.
“I… is this the takeaway you ordered? Ninomiya-senpai!” he thought angrily. It made sense now why she had that odd smile when asking him to answer the door.
“Auntie, I was wondering why Homura specifically asked for a portion of red date and black chicken soup…” Ninomiya’s mother suddenly squinted her eyes, looking teasingly at Yagi Miyuki, her lips curving into a meaningful smile, “Seems like she wanted to nourish you. So, should I say… were you tired last night?”
“No!” Yagi Miyuki blurted out, flustered by the teasing from the young-looking mother, hurriedly explaining, “Listen to my explanation! I was just taking care of Ninomiya-senpai because she caught the flu! That’s all!”
“Hmm?!” Ninomiya’s mother frowned, slightly panicking, “Homura is sick? How is she now? Really, why didn’t you tell me about this?”
“Don’t worry, ma’am,” Yagi Miyuki reassured, waving his hand, “It’s all good now. Yesterday, I took her to the hospital… I mean! I took her to the hospital, she got an injection and took some medicine, and now her fever has gone.”
Ninomiya’s mother sighed in relief, her white shirt pulsating with a substantial endowment, though not as impressive as Ninomiya-senpai’s, still quite substantial.
“Please come in,” Yagi Miyuki said, lowering his eyes and stepping aside, then taking the initiative to take the boxes from Ninomiya’s mother’s hands, “Let me handle this.”
“You’re really thoughtful, thank you,” said Ninomiya’s mother with a grateful smile.

Ninomiya’s mother smiled graciously, not declining the offer, and complimented, “I see why Homura likes you so much. Such a gentle child, even I am quite fond of you.”
Yagi Miyuki dared not utter a word.
“Welcome home.”
At that moment, Ninomiya-senpai’s voice came from behind. Before Yagi Miyuki could turn around, Ninomiya’s mother had already walked past him.
“Homura, I heard from Yagi-kun that you caught the flu. Are you okay now?”
“Yes,” Ninomiya Homura calmly nodded and said, “With Yagi-kun’s round-the-clock care, I’m all better now.”
“That’s good to hear.”
After a moment of hesitation, Ninomiya’s mother added earnestly, “You should have told me about this. What if Yagi-kun hadn’t been there? You wouldn’t have had anyone to take care of you.”
“Yes,” Ninomiya-senpai simply nodded, her demeanor neither cold nor warm, and then added, “Thank you for bringing breakfast.”
“It’s no trouble at all, it’s what a mother should do,” Ninomiya’s mother replied with an unchanged smile, glancing at Yagi Miyuki, then addressing her daughter, “I won’t disturb your time with Yagi-kun…”
“You’ve already come back, why not join us for breakfast?” Ninomiya-senpai suddenly interrupted.
“No, it’s okay,” Ninomiya’s mother declined politely, “I have business to attend to, and I’ve already had breakfast. How about this: I’ll try to come back early this afternoon and cook dinner for you, okay?”
“Yes,” Ninomiya-senpai softly agreed. “Thank you. Don’t worry if you’re busy; I can prepare dinner and wait for you to come back.”
“Okay. Don’t worry, I should be able to finish my tasks this morning and will be back on time,” Ninomiya’s mother assured, then turned to Yagi Miyuki with a wink and a teasing smile, “Please take good care of Homura for me, okay? Treat her well, understand?”
Yagi Miyuki’s lips twitched slightly, and after a moment, he responded indirectly, “Drive safely.”
“You’re quite cunning,” Ninomiya’s mother chuckled, covering her mouth with her hand, “Well, I’ll take my leave now. One last thing, you two are still young, be moderate with that kind of thing, okay?”
Yagi Miyuki: “……”
After watching Ninomiya’s mother leave, Yagi Miyuki rubbed his forehead, turned to Ninomiya-senpai, and said, “If we’re going to school, we better finish breakfast quickly, or we’ll be late.”
“Let’s start then,” Ninomiya-senpai said cheerfully. “To reward you for staying up so late last night, I specifically asked my mom to bring you red date and black chicken soup.”
“Thanks a lot!”

“Don’t mention it, besides, it’s also a great benefit for me, right?” Ninomiya-senpai said meaningfully, pulling Yagi Miyuki towards the dining area. “Come on, don’t just stand there, let’s have breakfast.”
The breakfast brought back by Ninomiya’s mother was quite lavish, almost too elaborate for a breakfast, with several exquisite dishes accompanied by white porridge, leaving Yagi Miyuki thoroughly satisfied.
“Thanks for the meal.”
After settling his stomach, Yagi Miyuki began cleaning up while glancing at Ninomiya-senpai, who was slumped in her chair, clutching her slightly bloated belly with a blissfully content expression. “Don’t just sit there, get ready. I’ll head out as soon as I clean this up.”
“Alright.”
Ninomiya-senpai slowly stood up, beaming happily, “Finally, my chest has stopped growing rapidly. I can relax my diet a bit. If only it would just stop growing right here.”
Yagi Miyuki: “……”
“About something else,” Yagi Miyuki said, standing at the entrance, addressing Ninomiya-senpai, “We’ll leave together for now, but we should enter the school separately when we get closer…”
Saying this, Yagi Miyuki’s eyes twitched slightly, “After all, if people at school see us arriving together… it could get super complicated.”
