Chapter 95: Realizing One’s True Feelings
“Um…”
Ninomiya-senpai tilted her head, looking at the boy beside her bed, somewhat confused about the situation. However, her physical condition didn’t allow her to think much, as she struggled to stay conscious, barely managing a weak smile, and muttered in a daze, “Welcome… home.”
“It should be ‘welcome visitor.'”
Yagi Miyuki responded helplessly, looking at the pale girl on the bed, feeling an odd flutter in his heart. He tried to calm himself and shook his head, “Ninomiya-senpai, you were fine when I took you home the day before yesterday, weren’t you? How did you suddenly become so sick? Anyway…”
He saw that Ninomiya-senpai was barely able to keep her eyes open and quickly changed his question, “So, have you taken any medicine? Fever reducers? Have you taken any?”
Yagi Miyuki felt a wave of fear deep down.
If he had decided not to care about this situation, Ninomiya-senpai would have definitely been in danger.
Although it was just a fever, the state Ninomiya-senpai was in was far from trivial. Not reducing the fever in time could have serious consequences.
“I took some yesterday…”
Yagi Miyuki: “…”
He realized she was really not in her right mind.
“What about now?”
Biting his lip, Yagi Miyuki asked, “Do you have any fever reducers at home? Could you tell me where they are?”
“Um… stomach?”
“…”
Yagi Miyuki was on the verge of breaking down! It seemed like Ninomiya-senpai was not in a state to communicate properly. He stood up and began looking around the spacious room, eventually finding an empty box of fever reducers and a thermometer on the desk.
“Are there no more pills?”
Frowning, Yagi Miyuki picked up the thermometer and went back to the bed. Without intending to communicate with Ninomiya-senpai, he lifted her blanket slightly, revealing her mature body clad in a light-colored nightgown, not resembling a high school girl at all.
“I’m so sleepy, Yagi-kun…”
“Just hold on a little longer.”
Yagi Miyuki hesitated as he looked at the puffy neckline of Ninomiya-senpai’s nightgown, then at the thermometer in his hand. After a moment of contemplation, he decisively unbuttoned the top two buttons of her nightgown.
Ninomiya-senpai was completely unable to communicate, and although it was abrupt, he prioritized her health. But still…
Yagi Miyuki averted his eyes, not daring to look at the revealed skin, and silently recited mathematical formulas in his mind.
“Lift your hand for a moment…”
Though it was just for placing the thermometer, Yagi Miyuki found it quite exhausting. Ninomiya-senpai’s figure was indeed too extravagant, and since she wore nothing under her nightgown, he inadvertently touched something he shouldn’t have. Fortunately, he managed to get the task done.
“Yagi-kun… you’re a stealthy pervert…”
“Yes, yes.”

Hearing Ninomiya-senpai’s muddled mutter, Yagi Miyuki pulled up the blanket to cover her properly and instructed, “I’m going to buy some fever medicine. Ninomiya-senpai, keep the thermometer in place, okay?”
“Mm…”
“I’ll be back soon.”
Yagi Miyuki shook his head and left the room. He quickly descended to the ground floor, found a pharmacy nearby the apartment, and swiftly purchased the fever medicine, returning to Ninomiya-senpai’s place.
“Lift yourself up a bit, senpai.”
Yagi Miyuki helped Ninomiya-senpai, who was almost dozing off in bed, and coaxed her like a child, “Hang in there a little longer. You can sleep after taking the medicine, okay?”
“Ah~”
After administering the medicine to Ninomiya-senpai, Yagi Miyuki carefully laid her back down. He then checked the thermometer, which he had just removed from under her arm and which was still warm.
“It’s 40 degrees. If the fever doesn’t drop after the medicine, we’ll have to go to the hospital.”
Yagi Miyuki muttered to himself, then sat silently for a while before pulling a chair to sit beside the bed. He watched Ninomiya-senpai, who quickly fell into a deep sleep, and became lost in thought.
He suddenly felt that the way things had progressed to this point seemed too natural.
Receiving Ninomiya-senpai’s inexplicable call and then willingly coming over despite knowing he might be tricked. Upon seeing her in such a sick state, he didn’t hesitate to start taking care of her.
“What am I doing…”
Yagi Miyuki gave a wry smile, looking at the delicate and flawless girl on the bed, finding himself unable to look away.
“So, despite saying no, my body is indeed swayed, isn’t it?”
Up to now, although he didn’t want to admit it, he did have some feelings for Ninomiya-senpai.
He asked himself, if it had been someone else, not Ninomiya-senpai, who had made such a call without clear information, he probably wouldn’t have rushed over without understanding the specifics.
In summary, his eagerness to come here wasn’t because he was a good Samaritan; the main reason was that it was Ninomiya-senpai who was in trouble. He came because he was swayed by her.
“What a nuisance…”
Yagi Miyuki scratched his head in frustration.
Suddenly, the things in his backpack didn’t seem to matter anymore. If Ninomiya-senpai made a move now, he felt he might not even have a strong desire to resist.
“Why has it turned out like this!”
Realizing his true feelings, Yagi Miyuki was somewhat overwhelmed.

His goal was University of Tokyo, where the number of applicants was as numerous as hairs on a cow. He wasn’t a genius, so if he didn’t give it his all, there was absolutely no chance of getting in.
Already having wasted a lot of time in various aspects, if he allowed himself to be further delayed by these unnecessary adolescent disturbances, it would be pointless to even study.
Although marrying Ninomiya-senpai, akin to a toad snagging a swan, meant he wouldn’t need to struggle for a bright future at University of Tokyo, as he would already have ascended to great heights, his determination to get into a globally recognized university had almost become an obsession. After striving for a year, giving up was out of the question.
Moreover, as a transmigrator who had lived two lives, settling for a life of mediocrity as a kept man seemed beneath him. Not enriching himself with knowledge for a higher starting point and a promising future, even if Ninomiya-senpai genuinely liked him, was he truly worthy of her?
So the conclusion was still the same – study hard and aim high.
Yagi Miyuki took a deep breath, casting aside the whirlwind of thoughts in his mind, and glanced at the time on his phone, hesitating: “It’s about time to go to work, but…”
His gaze shifted to Ninomiya-senpai, who lay in bed with a dignified sleeping posture but furrowed brows, stirring sympathy. After a moment of thought, he quickly made a decision.
He couldn’t just leave Ninomiya-senpai unattended in her condition. Someone needed to watch over her. As for the café… well, he would have to take a leave of absence.
“It has to be this way.”
Yagi Miyuki shook his head, almost without hesitation, choosing to stay with Ninomiya-senpai. He had already justified it to himself.
“The tips from the two times Ninomiya-senpai visited exceeded half a month’s salary. For her sake, losing a bit of money was acceptable.”
