Chapter 67
Shen Mingyou was finally carried into the room by Jiang Chen.
Since Nian Nian was in the master bedroom, Jiang Chen carried her to the second bedroom where he often slept recently.
Although the second bedroom isn’t as large as the master bedroom, it’s still quite spacious. It features a luxuriously decorated bathroom with a massage bathtub. When Jiang Chen carried Shen Mingyou and placed her gently into the bathtub, she realized he had been pretending to be drunk.
As an actor, Shen Mingyou felt a bit annoyed that a non-professional had tricked her with such good acting. However, she was too exhausted to resist.
It seemed Jiang Chen, who hadn’t had much of a chance for such intimacy recently, was determined to make up for lost time. He didn’t plan on letting Shen Mingyou go easily.
It was late into the night before Shen Mingyou managed to nudge Jiang Chen away. Exhausted, she fell asleep immediately.
Jiang Chen, after watching his wife sleep for a while, held her close and soon fell asleep himself.

Nian Nian woke up early and, as usual, tried to snuggle into her mother’s arms, but found no one there. She looked around the bed but couldn’t find her parents.
Nian Nian got out of bed and checked the bathroom and cloakroom but found them empty. She even looked in the study, but her parents were nowhere to be seen.
Finally, she came to the bedroom where her father often slept alone. The door was locked. Nian Nian frowned, realizing her father had likely taken her mother to this bedroom.
Nian Nian sat down in front of the door, feeling upset.
Jiang Chen’s internal clock was very accurate, and despite drinking and being physically active the night before, he woke up early. He gently kissed Shen Mingyou’s face, then got up to freshen up.
After getting ready, Jiang Chen opened the door to go see Nian Nian, only to find her sitting in front of the door, looking up with clear eyes.
Jiang Chen was taken aback.
Nian Nian asked, “Where’s Mom?”
Jiang Chen gently closed the door and said, “Mom is still sleeping. Let’s not disturb her for now.”
Nian Nian huffed and turned her back to him, trying to show her displeasure.
Jiang Chen, seeing his daughter’s adorable attempt at showing anger, couldn’t help but smile.
He squatted in front of her and asked, “What’s wrong, Nian Nian?”
Nian Nian, still pouting, said, “Nian Nian is angry.”
Jiang Chen asked, “Why is Nian Nian angry?”
Nian Nian turned her back to him, making it clear that she was upset because she had woken up to find her mother gone, taken away by her father.
Jiang Chen knew this but reassured her, “Alright, Nian Nian, don’t be mad. Dad will take you somewhere later.” He took Nian Nian to freshen up and then out.
Although Nian Nian was curious about where her father was taking her, she remained silent, still upset.
Jiang Chen, noticing Nian Nian’s quiet demeanor in the car, chose not to tease her, wanting to avoid making things worse.
They soon arrived at a flower shop. Since it was early, the store was relatively empty. Jiang Chen carried Nian Nian inside. Seeing the flower shop, Nian Nian asked, “Dad, are we buying flowers?”
“Yes,” Jiang Chen said. “Dad wanted to buy flowers for Nian Nian to make up for earlier. Can you forgive Dad?”
Nian Nian’s eyes brightened. She remembered feeling envious when her father had bought flowers for her grandmother before. Now it was her turn.
However, Nian Nian, still feeling a bit proud, said, “It depends on how Dad performs.”
She walked into the shop, her mood lightened despite her previous anger.
Jiang Chen, feeling a bit guilty, followed her in and, holding her hand, said, “Pick any flowers you like, and I’ll buy them. If you like them all, I’ll buy them all.”
The clerk, recognizing Jiang Chen and his daughter, was excited but kept her professionalism. Jiang Chen’s generous offer made her even more impressed.
Nian Nian, however, decided she wanted just a small wreath despite the many flowers available.
“Does Nian Nian like this little wreath?” The clerk noticed Nian Nian admiring the wreath and said, “This was meant to be a birthday gift for my daughter. I don’t usually sell them, but if Nian Nian likes it, I’d be happy to give it to her.”
The wreath is beautifully made and was specially crafted for the clerk’s four-year-old daughter. It fits Nian Nian perfectly.
Although Nian Nian liked the wreath very much, she shook her head and refused it.
Seeing how much Nian Nian liked the wreath, Jiang Chen said to the clerk, “How about you teach me, and I’ll make one for my daughter?”
The clerk agreed, and Nian Nian looked at her father with happy eyebrows raised.
Jiang Chen had never made a wreath before, but after a few lessons from the clerk, he quickly learned. He eventually created a small pink wreath for Nian Nian. It wasn’t as finely made as the clerk’s, but it looked good.
Jiang Chen placed the wreath on Nian Nian and asked, “Do you like it?”
“I like it.” Nian Nian looked at herself in the mirror and felt even more beautiful.
“I’m glad you like it.” Jiang Chen said, “Now, Nian Nian, please don’t be upset with Dad anymore, okay?”
“Okay,” Nian Nian agreed.
Jiang Chen was satisfied. He took a flower gift box, prepared by the clerk in advance, and went home with Nian Nian, who was wearing the small wreath.
