“Super Mom” ended with the audience’s reluctance.

After the variety show finished, Shen Mingyou focused on filming. She took only one or two commercials and dedicated all her time and energy to the TV series “Asking the Sky.”

Nian Nian has started kindergarten. After summer vacation, Jiang Chen decided to move Nian Nian to City A for a stable learning environment. He also takes her to visit her mother’s class on weekends.

Two months have passed quickly, and the TV series “Asking the Sky” is about to wrap up. In the last few days, actors have been leaving the crew after finishing their scenes. Tang Qian, the lead actor, completed his final scene this afternoon, marking the end of filming.

The producer has reserved several tables at a restaurant for a gathering with the staff while Tang Qian is away.

After removing her makeup, Shen Mingyou hurried to the dinner location with Nian Nian.

Recently, an issue arose at one of Jiang Chen’s overseas branches, requiring him to handle it personally. After discussing with the family, it was decided that Nian Nian would stay with her mother, Shen Mingyou, on the set for the past few days.

As soon as they got into the car, Shen Mingyou’s phone rang. It was a video call from Jiang Chen.

When the call connected, Nian Nian leaned in. Jiang Chen, who was still working at the office, loosened his tie and asked with a smile, “Is Nian Nian being good today?”

“Yeah..Very Good,” Nian Nian replied.

“Does Nian Nian miss Dad?”

Nian Nian held the phone and tilted her head, saying, “I do.”

Jiang Chen’s heart melted hearing his daughter say she missed him. With Shen Mingyou busy filming and not home, Jiang Chen had been mainly taking care of Nian Nian. He realized that raising a child involves more than just meeting basic needs; it requires patience and personal time.

In just a few months, Jiang Chen learned a lot about parenting, and his bond with Nian Nian grew stronger. After only a few days apart, he eagerly looked forward to returning home to his wife and daughter.

“Dad misses Nian too. I’ll be home in two or three days,” Jiang Chen said.

Nian Nian nodded and said, “hmm.”

“Nian Nian, give the phone to Mom. Daddy wants to talk to her.”

Shen Mingyou, who was standing by, took the call and asked, “What’s up?”

“Nothing.” Jiang Chen looked at Shen Mingyou on the screen, smiled, and said, “I just missed you.”

The call was on loudspeaker, so everyone in the car—Nian Nian, the driver, Xiao Xi, and Shen Mingyou—could hear.

Nian Nian covered her mouth with her hands, smiling at her mother. Xiao Xi struggled to hold back laughter, and even the driver seemed interested.

Shen Mingyou: “…”

Jiang Chen had become quite skilled at expressing affection, which was a big change from his usual reserved self. Shen Mingyou found it difficult to resist.

Jiang Chen continued, “Youyou, do you miss me?”

Shen Mingyou: “…”

“Okay, let’s end the call for now.” Fearing Jiang Chen might say something more embarrassing, Shen Mingyou quickly ended the call.

Jiang Chen stared at the hung-up phone, feeling a bit anxious. He thought progress in winning Shen Mingyou’s heart was slow. Although her attitude had improved, it was not enough. Jiang Chen wanted Shen Mingyou to love him as much as he loved her.

Assistant Fang Xun knocked on the door with documents. Jiang Chen quickly signed them, handed them to Fang Xun, and said, “Please contact an emotional expert for me.”

Fang Xun guessed, “It seems so. Last time, they were about to divorce, and now Mr. Jiang is looking for another expert. I assume the issues are still unresolved.”

Fang Xun had confided in his cousin about Jiang Chen’s marital problems. His cousin, who knew both Jiang Chen and Shen Mingyou from the industry, was aware of their situation.

Fang Xun knew his cousin’s character well, so he wasn’t too cautious when talking to him and just said whatever was on his mind.

Jiang Chen is not an easy boss to work for. As his special assistant, Fang Xun has been on call almost 24 hours a day for the past few years. Of course, the salary he receives is exceptional. Although Jiang Chen has high expectations and strict standards, he’s generous with his employees. Even though he’s demanding, he is considered a good boss.

Fang Xun had helped Jiang Chen with many tasks, including remembering every anniversary of Mr. Jiang and his wife. On these special days, he would prepare the world’s most expensive bag for Mrs. Jiang and send it to her as if from Mr. Jiang.

Fang Xun knew all about his boss’s troubled marriage.

“If you ask me, our boss’s wife should create more drama. Otherwise, he won’t care. Now that she’s asking for a divorce, President Jiang is rushing to find an emotional expert,” Fang Xun complained during the call. It was rare for him to vent about his boss, so he took the opportunity to say a bit more.
