Originally, they only intended to teach these people a lesson, but their combat methods were far too vicious.
Even when Xu Duoduo approached, they had the audacity to make lewd remarks, their disgusting gazes scanning her up and down. However, their smug smiles didn’t last long before Qin Luo arrived just in time. With a single Thunder Strike, he knocked them to the ground, leaving them trembling uncontrollably. If he hadn’t held back, they would all be dead.
One of their companions, carrying a large bag of gray crystals, tried to escape. Chen Xiaofei chased after him, launching a barrage of throwing knives that turned him into a human pincushion, carefully avoiding fatal spots. It was excruciating, but he wouldn’t die—the blood poured out in streams.
“Who’s the trash now? Pah! You guys are the real foreign garbage!” Chen Xiaofei yanked the backpack off him, tied him up with a rope, and tossed him back onto his comrades.
“Yo-ho, stacking up foreign devils—having fun? Enjoying yourselves?”
Da Gouzi had a real talent for sarcasm.
Xu Duoduo almost wanted to laugh.
Qin Luo kicked them a few times and began interrogating them. “So? What the hell are you doing here? Acting all high and mighty—do you look down on Asians?”
He sneered, “Let me tell you something. Asians are your granddaddies. Understand?”
Even Da Gouzi’s foreign language skills sounded unexpectedly smooth.
Xu Duoduo was momentarily distracted as memories surfaced in her mind—images of Qin Luo from middle school, cocky and rebellious, refusing to study English.
She had grabbed him and made him memorize vocabulary, reading each word out loud with him, and—surprisingly—he had obediently repeated them.
Back then, she thought he wasn’t much of a student, but at least his voice was nice to listen to.
Snapping out of her thoughts, Xu Duoduo realized Chen Xiaofei was still cursing at the captives. She swiftly pulled a basin of seawater from her dimensional storage and handed it to him. Chen Xiaofei immediately grinned. “Thanks, Squad Leader!”
Then, he gleefully dumped an entire basin of seawater from R City over them, making them wail in agony.
Bai Shu took out a tablet to record everything. Depending on the situation, he would decide whether to report it to headquarters. Adjusting his glasses, he asked, “Explain yourselves. What are you doing with these gray crystals? They’re called Preservative Crystals, right? I suspect you’re using these internationally banned substances for illegal trade. Who are you selling them to?”
He was only speculating, as they hadn’t had enough time to fully investigate.
But then he recalled a newly discovered hazardous material similar to these gray crystals—Preservative Crystals. In small amounts, they effectively prevented food spoilage, but uncontrolled use could lead to poisoning. The latest research showed that this substance caused severe abnormalities in the bodies of ability users.
It could completely cripple their abilities.
If these were introduced into an ability user’s food or drinking water… the consequences would be unthinkable.
Qin Luo snapped, “What, you don’t understand human speech?”
The foreign captives had the audacity to laugh and curse, calling him a “stupid jerk.”
Qin Luo crouched down, looked at them, and smirked. “You foreigners really should learn Chinese. Your insults are so basic and repetitive—just the same few words over and over.”
Chinese, on the other hand, was vast and profound.
One could curse someone into oblivion without using a single dirty word.
Wang Weihu kicked them as well. “Barely past fourth-tier abilities, yet you think you’re tough? What gave you that confidence?”
Meanwhile, Xu Duoduo—this little zombie—pulled out another basin of seawater and began mixing in chili powder and wasabi, stirring it all together with a big spoon.
The foreign captives shuddered in fear. The previous basin of saltwater had already been excruciating.
Even Qin Luo winced. “Damn, Duoduo, I never knew you had a talent for interrogation.”
Xu Duoduo was confused.
She hesitated, looking at the basin in her hands. Was she being too cruel?
A zombie doing bad things… feeling a little guilty.
But Qin Luo simply picked her up and set her aside before rolling up his sleeves. “Seriously, leave the rough work to me. How could I let you do it?”
He smiled wickedly and held out his hand. “More salt, please.”
Xu Duoduo smacked his hand. “Wasteful. This is seawater.”
Qin Luo raised an eyebrow, genuinely surprised, then gave her a thumbs-up. “As expected of my wife—evil but economically minded. So cute.”
Chen Xiaofei and Bai Shu were speechless. Disgustingly sweet.
“Squad Leader, please let me do the honors with the chili water!” Chen Xiaofei raised his hand excitedly.
Xu Duoduo nodded. “Go ahead.”
Bai Shu activated his mental ability. After advancing to the fourth tier, he gained a new technique—forcing people to tell the truth. Under his influence, one of the battered foreigners hesitated before starting to talk.
They had come specifically to collect these crystals.
As Bai Shu had guessed, these were indeed Preservative Crystals, a substance that emerged after the apocalypse. A scientist within their Liberal Organization discovered its preservative properties, and at first, they used it to store food.
They also sold it at high prices to other countries.
This allowed the Liberal Organization to establish itself overseas, solidifying its position.
But one day, their food supply became contaminated with too much of the substance, and after consuming it, some ability users lost their powers, their bodies stiffening. Only then did they realize the toxic effects.
When that scientist defected and leaked the information, international authorities immediately classified Preservative Crystals as a banned substance. Yet instead of reducing sales, the demand increased—people saw it as a weapon to weaken and eliminate rival nations.
The Liberal Organization continued its illegal trade, partnering with smaller countries to take over others. They targeted the war teams of these nations, crippling them, then seized their resources and women, enslaving the powerless ability users.
A truly despicable operation.
The captive, still under mental control, even boasted about the number of people he had brutally killed. He described in detail how he forced mothers to eat their own children.
Bai Shu clenched his tablet so tightly his knuckles turned white. If he weren’t responsible for gathering evidence, he would have killed them on the spot.
“No wonder their gazes were so twisted,” he muttered. “They don’t even see people as human beings.”
Qin Luo’s expression darkened. “Xiaofei, dump the chili water.”
Chen Xiaofei didn’t hesitate. He grabbed the basin and doused them. “Pah! Scum. I’ve had enough of you!”
The spiked seawater made them writhe and howl in agony.
Wang Weihu delivered several heavy kicks. With a fourth-tier ability user’s strength, their already injured bodies couldn’t withstand the blows—blood spurted from their mouths.
In the end, Qin Luo fired several shots, putting them down for good.
With the echoes of gunfire, the world suddenly felt cleaner.
“Killing them is nothing,” Qin Luo muttered. “The real problem is this so-called Liberal Organization. How many members do they have?”
The apocalypse overseas was darker than they had imagined.
It wasn’t about being nosy.
If they didn’t eliminate this organization early, were they just going to wait until it came knocking on their country’s doorstep?
