Apocalypse Arrival: Little Zombie, I Just Hoard, Hoard, Hoard!
Apocalypse Arrival: Little Zombie, I Just Hoard, Hoard, Hoard! Chapter 41: The Granary

The location of the granary is in a town not far from the shopping district, about a twenty-minute drive.

The logistics team sent a rescue message to headquarters the previous night, and buses came to pick them up. However, they didn’t arrive until noon the next day.

“Sorry, sorry! Our team is a bit far away. After receiving the message, we rushed over as quickly as we could. We hope we didn’t delay you,” said the lead logistics girl, constantly apologizing. Wang Weihu went over to handle things and assured her, “No problem. We’ve already sent you the list of survivors. Some of them have psychological trauma.”

The logistics girl nodded, “Don’t worry. Our team has a healer with psychic abilities. Her power is related to dreams, and she used to be a psychologist!”

Wang Weihu felt reassured upon hearing this but couldn’t help but marvel, “That’s an incredible ability.”

While he handled the situation, Qin Luo was with Bai Shu and Chen Xiaofei, discussing the route. Manyduo joined in, and the three were gathered around the map, looking at it.

“I told you not to take new missions, right? So how are we going to proceed with this route?”

“We’ll cancel it and take a new one.”

“No way! That would be embarrassing. Our 3A team can’t back out of a mission!”

“Xiaofei’s right. That would be embarrassing. Why don’t we just take another mission and finish it quickly?”

Hearing their conversation, Manyduo felt like taking on another mission was no big deal, like it was just another day out to eat. No wonder everyone in the forum called their 3A team combat maniacs—they were always charging toward the front lines. How could they not be impressive?

Qin Luo slapped the map down and said firmly, “Let’s go! No more overthinking, let’s just do it!”

He hated dragging things out.

Bai Shu also adjusted his glasses and stood up, “Okay, Old Wang should be done with the handover. Let’s go.”

Chen Xiaofei got up and patted his pants. The group had spread the map on the ground, squatting to look at it. Since the little zombie was too short to see the map when they were standing, she stood up and imitated Xiaofei by patting her pants.

Qin Luo smiled and rubbed Manyduo’s hair, “You don’t need to pat your pants so much. Is your pants dirty? Always trying to copy everything?”

She really did act like a child.

Manyduo shot him a glance and pulled out a chewing stick, crunching away.

Chen Xiaofei immediately rubbed his arms, “Ah, that sound! It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.”

Bai Shu, ever so clever, quietly walked away toward their off-road vehicle.

Chen Xiaofei immediately followed.

Qin Luo noticed how hard she was chewing on the stick. Just as he was about to say something, Wang Weihu called them to the vehicle, so he couldn’t continue the conversation.

He picked up the little zombie and walked to the car, placing her in the back seat.

Business first.

As they left, the logistics team saluted them.

The survivors looked numb, scared, and happy. They couldn’t care less about their “heroes” who had saved them. Only the store manager, along with a dozen or so orphans, waved their hands forcefully, shouting, “Be safe!”

Wang Weihu responded by honking the car horn as a form of salute.

With so many survivors to handle, the logistics team would be busy for some time before everything could be properly arranged.

The combat team couldn’t afford to delay too long—they had to take as many missions as possible.

“Let’s go! Off to the granary! After this, we’ll have enough food for a long time!” Chen Xiaofei cheered from the passenger seat, his face beaming with excitement!

Ping’an County in C City.

The silence was shattered by the roar of vehicles, and zombies were sent flying as the team drove through.

This modified off-road vehicle was comfortable. Before the apocalypse, they wouldn’t have dared to drive like this.

It was another wave of zombie clearing.

These lower-level zombies typically shouldn’t have any mutant cores, which were usually found in monsters that had evolved into at least a one-star level. At the start of the apocalypse, there weren’t many mutant cores, but the strange thing was, they had collected over ten cores during the journey, all light yellow and transparent.

The atmosphere in the vehicle grew heavy.

Qin Luo looked at the mutant cores in his hand, “The zombie mutant cores are light yellow?”

Chen Xiaofei responded seriously, “Yeah! Doesn’t it feel off? And these zombies are more agile than others.”

Bai Shu checked the forum but found no updates on this area. C City was huge, and the combat teams were still severely understaffed.

Most combat teams had a full roster, but ordinary people, even those who gained powers, still had to put in effort to adapt to the apocalypse.

This made manpower scarce, and many places hadn’t even been rescued yet. Areas that no one had reached naturally didn’t have any information.

Ping’an County was one of those places. Headquarters wasn’t unaware of the granary here, but they weren’t sure if there was still food inside or if other mutants had already raided it. They were worried the combat team would waste a trip.

The truth was, they just couldn’t spare the resources and were prioritizing saving survivors.

This was a lucky break for the 3A team.

Bai Shu recorded everything for the report, “This means zombies are starting to level up faster.”

Chen Xiaofei complained, “Why do we have to work so hard to level up, and these zombies just wander around and evolve into one-star ones?”

His sarcasm lightened the mood inside the vehicle, and everyone laughed.

“But the little squad leader’s food supply is secured! These ten or so mutant cores will last her a long time!”

Chen Xiaofei said, turning around to look at the back, grinning widely.

Qin Luo held the mutant cores. Despite being dirty after staying in the zombies’ brains, once taken out, they were clean and pristine.

He casually offered one to Manyduo, “Want one? I’ll give this one to you.”

Unexpectedly, Manyduo politely declined, her small face scrunching up. She didn’t want to eat a zombie’s mutant core, feeling like it was eating something from a human.

The little zombie refused.

Qin Luo laughed at Chen Xiaofei, “See? She refuses this, but she won’t even eat the mutant cores from the mutant snake-people.”

Chen Xiaofei scratched his head, “Well, if she doesn’t want it, we’ll just find something else later.”

Bai Shu added, “It’s not a big deal. We can always trade the zombie cores with others.”

They didn’t think she was picky or hard to please. If she didn’t want it, they could always exchange it for something else.

The little zombie felt like the bodies had warmed up.

Speaking of the mutant cores from the mutated snake-people, they were probably the highest-grade cores they could find.

Bai Shu said, “Since the little squad leader won’t eat it, we’ll just sell them to the base for points.”

No one objected.

Soon, they saw a vast area filled with granaries.

It looked like giant yurts.

White buildings stood one after another on the flat ground, storing the food inside.

Everyone was stunned.

Manyduo, however, was glowing with excitement. “Wow! The space in the little zombie’s grid is going to be filled with so much more food!”
